► Here's where I bought it, but the page no longer exists: neverquitfishing.com/collections/all/products/shizuku-t270-tenkara-rod ► Here's a site in Japanese that lists it for sale for ¥7,040 ($54 USD), but I don't know if they ship internationally: fishingshop-shizuku.stores.jp/items/61287286202397460f3224c9
The Japan website does ship internationally.....I just ordered one. I used Google Translate to get through the Japanese language to order it. About $85 with shipping to my home in Alabama! My shipping address showed up in different format once I ordered so hoping there are no issues. Thanks for the recommendation Tristan!!!
thanks for the links! even though it's no longer available on that other site, it's nice to find another site that sells micro fishing gear, which i'm into :D
Confirming: I tried ordering from shizuku at the link you provided and they do ship internationally (for a substantial fee!). Just received mine. Arrived in about a week! Thanks for all the great content!
Thanks! So a Great rod that can't be got, on a stream with no name in a state with no name catching Great fish and having a Blast! Jeesshh...talk about bait... Happy Holidays to you and your Bride!
Thank you for this entire past year of tenkara adventures! I appreciate how much time and effort you invest in these productions. Your hard work is greatly appreciated. And this episode - finishing up on an unnamed creek? How awesome is that!? I thank you in advance for the 2023 adventures you can share!
I LOVE how candid and honest you are, Tristan….”I know fly is out because it’s on my shirt”😊……no big ego to suffer through here. This is one of the many reasons why I have followed you on both youtube channels and subscribe to your “Know How” website. You’re the best, Tristan!
I really enjoyed this video. I'm now a senior citizen but years ago I spent six years of my child hood on the Island of Arran on the west coast of Scotland. My early angling adventures were with something similar to yours but using a homemade rod on the small burns (creeks) using a rod I made out of a cane I found on the local beach. I tied a short length of nylon to the tip and fitted a hook. I wasn't fly fishing but I used worms and the fish I caught were similar to the ones you were catching only brown trout and sometimes a small sea trout. Subsequently I went on to fly fishing but I really enjoyed my early years fishing on small brooks like the one you were fishing. The excitement was terrific.
For anyone looking now-ish, it looks likle the Japanese website linked is offering a built to order version of this rod (or at least a rod with the same name/specs, different coloration).
As of today the Japanese website sells it for 8000 Yen and with overseas shipping total was 12800 Yen or with today's (4/8/24) exchange rate it was $87.98 I used Google Chrome to view the website and I used Chrome to translate to English. GOD Bless you and your families Kenneth
What a great stream! Thank you so much for your presentations throughout the year. I very much enjoy your style of delivery, pace and thoughtfulness. Enjoy your adventures and may the upcoming year be kind to you.
That looked like a lot of Fun Tristan. Your hook sets with that rod seemed much better than others. Thanks for all the excellent content this year and hope your new home goes well for you and family. Looking forward to your 2023 travels. Tight lines my friend.
Great you showing us your tenkara rods and catching them. Also really cool you catch and release. I just know with my fishing experience. Fish have a slim coating. Not a really good idea to handle them if you are just going to release them. Just a thought.
Thank you for your videos. I particularly like your use of the white arrows for hits. I try to anticipate where I would fish and the arrows make the hits stand out and verify (or not) if I was right. Thanks again.
Thank you for the excellent video as always. I purchased the rod in this video from the manufacture in Japan I believe it was ¥7000 shipping was ¥4000 it took 11 days to receive it.
That Killer Kabari is your go-to fly - I think we all have one...mine is a Mr Rapidan dry. Also, when a stream "splits" like that, I always go up the fork with the greater flow - I find that the trout know which streams tend to run dry, and avoid them.
@@Beeznhunny Harry Murray designed that fly to mimic two early season hatches in the Blue Ridge in Virginia, but I've used it to catch Cutthroats in Colorado, in August...basically it's an Adams with a yellow post, so it's just a "buggy looking" fly that works well in small streams and with trout who can't be too picky when a meal floats by.
Great stream! Thanks for the wonderful content! The quality and content of your productions are second to none! Looking forward to your Adventures in the new year. Happy New Year!
Hello Bri? How are you? I really like the Tenkara Fishing Rod that you use because of the short Closed Length so it's easy to carry anywhere. Thank you for sharing the experience 😀🙏
The ultimate short rod is the Tanuki Pocket Ninja Headwaters 240, about a foot shorter than the Shizuku Tenkara T270cm/28mm tip. Tanuki rod specs: Length: About ~ 7'10" /~ 240 cm. Closed Length: About ~13" / 34cm Weight: About 2oz or less.
Thanks again for sharing your adventures and good times Tristan! It's nice seeing warmer weather. Meltoff here in the Sierra's is going to be happening later in the summer, but we do need the water. Happy New Years you two!
I went to the Fishingshop site, but when I converted the Chinese Yuan to USD it came out to just over $1,000 dollars!? I have a feeling it's made in China not Japan due to the only place I could find it had to be a Chinese retailer since all the prices were in Yuan, and it was written in Chinese which of course Google translated it into English.
I'd be interesting in a video on your other tools. Everything from waders to map programs you use. Also what do you do to avoid undesirable critters, everything from ticks to bears.
Just bought mine. Go to the Japanese website click to shop their rods. It's the same model rod just with a different color. I'm excited to try it! Be advised there's only one left in stock after my purchase so you might wanna grab it quick. Happy fishing!
Hi Tristan I discovered an old classmate of mine has started a business tying flies on Etsey and one's been proven to attract fish like no other. Business name DancingRavenTenkara Coos Killer Kebari is the fly name.
Really into the Rooster Gear Market brand from Japan but they haven’t made their stuff very accessible for us folks in the US, if anyone reading this has a connection, let them know we want to spend our money!!
This looks like the same rod as the pebble Connector, with a different paint job. The Pebble has received good reviews but has just become unavailable. It´s nice that we will still be able to get the rod ( or a very similar rod) in the future. Pebble review: ua-cam.com/video/fYXcwYx81Wc/v-deo.html
I see you catch and release every time. I think that’s very responsible. However, trout make tasty and healthy food when adequately prepared, so occasionally retaining three or four doesn’t seem to me to be objectionable. Am I a bad person?
Thanks for the vid. For someone not at all familiar with a tenkara rod I would like to get some details on how the rod actually works with expanding it etc...including how you set it up? Are you using a tapered leader? Straight mono etc...? Thanks
dear mr addict , your information is useful but not when it comes to your recommendations of hard to find items that you happen to like. It would be more useful if you could recommend items that are easy for us to find rather than items like this rod that are not. Thankyou
In a lot of ways.....you need to get educated and really get into trout fishing. You'll be a better person for it.....no matter what method you choose.

I bought 2 from there since the shipping was flat rate, lol.
They do ship to US, I bought one with Paypal and with shipping to Oregon it was $69

Here's to another year of great tenkara fishing videos!
What a great stream! Thank you so much for your presentations throughout the year. I very much enjoy your style of delivery, pace and thoughtfulness.
Enjoy your adventures and may the upcoming year be kind to you.

Cool net love the tape
Because of your videos I asked Santa for a Dragontail Mizuchi. He was good enough to leave it under the tree. Can’t wait to try it out.
He got me one as well
Lovely video, all the best to you and your family for 2023.
Great you showing us your tenkara rods and catching them. Also really cool you catch and release. I just know with my fishing experience. Fish have a slim coating. Not a really good idea to handle them if you are just going to release them. Just a thought.
Yes, thanks for the motivation. You've helped get me into tenkara more and more. Hope you have a great year Tristen
Thank you for your videos. I particularly like your use of the white arrows for hits. I try to anticipate where I would fish and the arrows make the hits stand out and verify (or not) if I was right. Thanks again.
I'm definitely going to have to get a setup
Bought it from the Japanese site that Tristan mentioned. About $87 with shipping to the US. No problem.
Thank you for the excellent video as always. I purchased the rod in this video from the manufacture in Japan I believe it was ¥7000 shipping was ¥4000 it took 11 days to receive it.
nice. I have been looking for one for myself.
What a stunning location! Amazing fishes too!
That Killer Kabari is your go-to fly - I think we all have one...mine is a Mr Rapidan dry. Also, when a stream "splits" like that, I always go up the fork with the greater flow - I find that the trout know which streams tend to run dry, and avoid them.

Hello Bri? How are you?
I really like the Tenkara Fishing Rod that you use because of the short Closed Length so it's easy to carry anywhere.
Thank you for sharing the experience 😀🙏
Thanks Tristan. Not sure how you did it but that was the perfect creek for an op test of that rod. Beautiful brookies too!
Another great video. Happy New Year Tristan!
Oh man, i'm a sucker for shorter tenkara rods, now i need to have it! 😁
Happy 2023 Tristan
The ultimate short rod is the Tanuki Pocket Ninja Headwaters 240, about a foot shorter than the Shizuku Tenkara T270cm/28mm tip. Tanuki rod specs:
Length: About ~ 7'10" /~ 240 cm. Closed Length: About ~13" / 34cm Weight: About 2oz or less.
What a lovely stream to end the year (though you shot the video in August). I'm looking forward to next year's rod review.
What a blast!
Thanks again for sharing your adventures and good times Tristan! It's nice seeing warmer weather. Meltoff here in the Sierra's is going to be happening later in the summer, but we do need the water. Happy New Years you two!
Great video
Great creek
Awesome creek! Nice
Happy New Year Tristan and family!!!! Thanks for all your effort making great videos!!!! Cheers!!!

Fun fishing, I could do that all day. Love it.
Тристан, поздравляю с Новым годом!!!
Do you have any videos exhibiting how you tie theses lines, leaders and flies?
I'd be interesting in a video on your other tools. Everything from waders to map programs you use. Also what do you do to avoid undesirable critters, everything from ticks to bears.
Joran pancing nya kerennn 👍
Is it better then the dragon tail ?
Do you leave the fly on top of the water, pop it above the water or is it sinking?
How do you pick the flys you use for a particular stream?
Where can i find a rod similar in size and price considering i can't seem to find this one anymore?
how would this compare to the Dragontail Shadowfire 365 or Hellbender in your opinion?
Righteous.
happy new year man! love your channel and content! cheers from russia :)🎆🎆🎇🎇🎇🎇🎄🎄🎄

How do you know if a stream is worth fishing? I'm new to fly fishing, and don't really know where to start looking for streams to fish.
Great video, have you ever come across a stream with no fish?
just found you - loving the content - what rod do you recommend for a 10-12 foot adjustable tenkara setup? thanks!
Any idea where to buy this rod nowadays? Both links are not available.
Just bought mine. Go to the Japanese website click to shop their rods. It's the same model rod just with a different color. I'm excited to try it! Be advised there's only one left in stock after my purchase so you might wanna grab it quick. Happy fishing!
This does not look like December?
It was filmed in August. If you click on the show more in the pink box it will expand and he includes additional details.
I wonder how much time you said *see ya buddy!* In your life🤣
that is my kind of stream .
Hi Tristan I discovered an old classmate of mine has started a business tying flies on Etsey and one's been proven to attract fish like no other. Business name DancingRavenTenkara
Coos Killer Kebari is the fly name.
Muy bueno
Do you catch other fish species than trout?
Everything depends on the water. On rivers like this only a a few trout species can survive
Sadly no tenkara rods in my country
Ordered 2 since shipping was same as for 1
I did as well. Arrived today
Really into the Rooster Gear Market brand from Japan but they haven’t made their stuff very accessible for us folks in the US, if anyone reading this has a connection, let them know we want to spend our money!!
Thats what she said 3:56 😂
Bel video.😂
The box for the one I ordered on Ebay says made in China, so I don't know.
For 2023, I want you to catch, clean, cook, and consume one fish. 🤣
👍👍👍

Its funny how the fish looked P-------off if they get caught.
Thanks for the vid. For someone not at all familiar with a tenkara rod I would like to get some details on how the rod actually works with expanding it etc...including how you set it up? Are you using a tapered leader? Straight mono etc...? Thanks
Why don't you leave the rod collapsed while walking in the woods?
Too much hassle 🤷♂️
dear mr addict , your information is useful but not when it comes to your recommendations of hard to find items that you happen to like. It would be more useful if you could recommend items that are easy for us to find rather than items like this rod that are not. Thankyou
I have to ask... let's just pretend a law was passed that you could only possess ONE tenkara rod...which one would you choose from your collection? 🎣
Another great episode Tristan! Happy New Year to you and your family! Steve @blackflycreations
So you bought a $75 cane pole.
No.... tankara rods have a completely other action...
In a lot of ways.....you need to get educated and really get into trout fishing. You'll be a better person for it.....no matter what method you choose.
