- Today I am bass fishing with a beetle spin and other beginner fishing lures that were sent in to the show. Before I even start fishing I challenge myself to catch fish from something in the package sent in by a subscriber. Included are various jigs, hooks, and yes, the beetle spin. This is the first bass I have caught on a beetle spin! I also manage to catch a green sunfish and a few bluegill on other lures that were also included. Thanks again to everyone who send mail in to the show. I had a fun time out there catching my first beetle spin bass.

The vest is for sure cool. Nice to see sunfish and bluegills again. They're like true pals who always come to hang with ya, no matter how awful your day might be going.

My dads friend who's 71 let me go through his old tackle box last week and he's got some inline spinners and other stuff from the 80s/90s still in the og packaging. Was awesome to see. Love the content, and am always looking forward to watching some realistic fishing

I couldn't agree more. Realistic fishing is the only fishing video I watch. It is realistic fishing not the strange fake stuff on most other fishing shows. Wish I had the energy to do a competing show because I fish under very different conditions muddy water, small pond, very little good structure, shallow pond, just about everything is different but I've learned a few tricks that work where I fish.
Awesome to see the trusty beetle spin work. I loved using them as a kid in the 90s!

Nice video Alex! Sometimes in the evening to kill some time I'll launch the boat at the city dock! I'll take out a ultra light spinning outfit with six lb. test and throw a small beetle spin! No filming just some easy relaxing fishing for a couple of hours! What I like about beetle spin fishing is that it catches everything! Nothing big, but you never know what your going to catch next! Tight lines my brother and keep on keeping it real!!!
I need to throw it at unidentified schools of fish on the graph, if I ever find em. 👍

I got that exact same vest from amazon as a git to myself a couple of months ago. I've never used a fishing vest before that so I bought it as an experiment to see if I could get all the gear I really need on me while exploring and fishing without having to lug around my 20+ lb Plano tackle box I've had since the 80's along with 1-3 rods and everything else. It's worked like a charm. I absolutely love it. I can do anything from creek wading/fishing up to big river/lake fishing now and it's much easier to get around. When I take the folding chair with me for longer trip it's great to just drape on the back of it and still have everything at my fingertips.
I usually have a small tackle box in one of the pockets with basic tackle with a few of my favorite lures and such, some extra leaders, my fishing pliers and forceps, a plastic bag in case I need to put my phone/wallet someplace waterproof, a bit of sealed bait, and a small washcloth for wiping my hands off.
Give it a real try by wearing it for a few trips to keep everything on you. You might be impressed with how useful it is like I was.
I am sure it holds stuff well. Its the noise while casting that might be too much
That's basically my entire creek fishing gear in a ziplock. Wow. VNC Curly Tail, Crappie/Trout Magnets, Beatle Spin. My first bass ever was a Beatle Spin about the same size

Earlier this spring I used a beetle spin and caught several bass on it.
I like the vest!! Have been looking at them but haven't pulled the trigger and bought one. Good video 👍

That looked like a neat idea. Although it didn’t look like you had planned it. Someone gives you a nice sampling of baits, and you see what you can make of it. Great video and great idea.

I love throwing a Beetle Spin on my 31 year old Shakespeare rod with my 44 year old Zebco Omega 33 reel. Old school combo. Cool video! 👍🏻😎

I absolutely love Beetle Spins, can get some slightly larger saltwater version ones I think still from Bass Pro and they work great. Either version though can catch just about anything, even huge largemouth seem to love them.

Love the beetle spin. I prefer the lighter ones. Like 1/32 or 1/8. Gulp minnows are a good bait the thread on the hook as well.

beetle spins are great classic lures still being made in many sizes and colors and still catching tons of fish. caught many a bass and crappie and bream on these guys and still do. they are still here for reason,they work!
I actually just had 2 solid days of 20+ bluegill, crappie, and small bass on a 1/8 oz. beetle spin. Sometimes you just cant beat the classics! Keep up the awesome content brother!

I've got an online spinner I'm going to try I've seen they are pretty good for bass and crappie. Looking into some smaller different and even finesse style baits. Love seeing different things being fished

Funny you mentioned Beetle Spin's. I recently went to Dick's Sporting Goods and they had them for around 97 a package. :) Hence I bought a few. Also - when I was a kid , My dad taught me how to fish using the beetle spins.

Another very Realistic show! Man u can't sleep on the Beetlespin!! Used to be my go-to lure when fishing was tough! Main reason it's a smaller presentation n it catches everything from Bass to sunfish, to Crappies, perch, pickerel, etc. Don't know if u saw it but Elstan caught a 38lber wearing ur shirt on his latest live stream, slimed the hell outta it!! Beatle Spin is one of my go-to lures! Used them for years, I’ve caught multiple species on them. They are a highly effective lure and I like to modify them as well.
That dock never fails to catch either a lure or a fish!

I didnt notice a bunch of noise from the vest and it gives you places to put soft plastics and pliers and a few lures for bank fishing.
no noise because the pockets were empty. I will try it out with more gear

I used to catch a ton of fish on Beetle Spins, especially the smallest size. Always outproduced bigger baits. The Blakemore Roadrunner was also a killer bait!
Caught my PB 4.5lb bass in a highly pressured pond on a white beetle spin.
Nice day of fishing. Going with my pops this weekend hopefully we catch some fish.

I used to slay bass with beetle spins back in the day!
Never underestimate the cheap little lures. I have caught many a Two and Three lb bass with these micro spinners and plastics. I pretty much use them all the time because of the effectiveness of the lures.
Beetle Spin is a classic. I like them for bluegill fishing. 👍

Nice video as usual. Beetle Spins worked great for me back in 1998 or so in Nebraska but in 2020 in Texas I found some for 50 cents. No luck at all so way to nail one!

I have never caught anything on a beetle spin. Some folks around here seem to be able to catch crappie on similar little spinner baits.

I actually catch a lot of largemouth bass on the beetle spin.... usually 1 or 2 pounders.
The timeless beetle spin. Always have them with me and they can be modified. Don't forget the Johnson spoo..
