    I’m a self taught potter and your videos are extremely helpful! Thank you so much for taking the time to share your knowledge. The 3 different camera angles help TREMENDOUSLY with understanding exactly what it is you’re doing.

    John, you are teaching me so much to supplement my classes! Thank you so much for your service. Did you ever make the how to trim a large bowl video? We are -- guess what -- making large bowls in my class!

      Not yet! I totally forgot. I found the bowl for this video on the shelf a few days ago. Totally bone dry. I guess I need to make another one to show how to trim them.

    I’ve been potting for over 25 years and am still learning, after having a break for a few years due to injury, I am getting back into it. I want to get some removable bats, can you tell me the brand of the ones you’re using or any that are good to use? I live in Adelaide, Australia. I’m really enjoying watching and learning from your videos.

      More to come! My real job, teaching ceramics at a college has me so busy right now. Trying to get the studio ready for the first face to face in over a year! I will have more soon.

    How can you tell how many times can you move it up? What is the average times you can move it up, 3 or 4? What happens if you move it up too many times? Thanks…. 😊😊😊

      Thank you. I am not sure which tool you are asking about. Can you tell me where in the video I am using it?

    How do you clean your apron. Do you hand wash due to the hardened Cala? Thank you. ❤❤❤

    Thank you so much, this is awesome, I will try to emulate first with a smaller chunk of clay. Great advice!!!
    Question: you do not wire it at the end? :)

    • @JohnHasegawaCeramics
      @JohnHasegawaCeramics  2 роки тому +2

      I am throwing on a plaster bat system - so no need to wire at the end. When the pot is dry enough to trim it just pops off the bat.

    Hi John, thanks for sharing your knowledge with us. Just one question: how do you fix the plaster bat to the wheel?

    • @JohnHasegawaCeramics
      @JohnHasegawaCeramics  2 роки тому +1

      It is called a hydro bat. It has an adapter plastic bat that has normal holes for the wheel wheel head bat pins and 6" pins sticking up out of the plastic bat. The bat I use then fit on the bat pins that are 6" apart.

    Wondering how to trim a bowl that’s wider than my bat?

    • @triciac1019
      @triciac1019 Рік тому

      Maybe get a bat that is wider and take the sides off your wheel for trimming.

    I really like what you are posting, as it give a lot of good tips and tricks. HOWEVER, there are just TOO MANY ads in your video. There must have been 10 ads in a 20 minute video (sorry I didn't count). I understand about trying to make some money by monetizing your videos, but this is just excessive... making me think this is more about the money than the process. I would suggest using a service like Patreon, and allow us to watch your otherwise beautiful videos without being constantly bombarded with ads.

      @JohnHasegawaCeramics  3 роки тому +1

      Thanks for that feedback. I have been letting UA-cam place the add breaks automatically. I was hoping UA-cam would know more than me about where and how to place the adds. Now that I have looked at it with your comments in mind - I see that they are too frequent. I have removed a few from the LARGE Bowl video. I will dig through the other videos and do the same over the next few days. I do not know much about Patreon or how it works. I will look into it over the summer to see if it is an option for me.
