Eye shadow rediscovery: I randomly tried my creme contour to disguise hoods then played with ELF creme eye shadow sticks in Thrift Shop, Rose Quartz, and Amethyst. Nice to play and rediscover old faves. Loved the video including marshmallow thingy, kitties, Bitty, and Elton John sing along.

I've reconnected with two eyeshadow palettes that I didn't love at first: Colourpop's Bare Necessities and Maybelline's Nudes of New York. I adore them now but they sat unused for at least a year.

If I see a video notification of yours, I immediately click on it before anyone else’s. It really starts my day off right and puts me in a great headspace.
It might seem strange to someone else, but watching your videos, especially when you talk about family, has really helped me lately.
A very special family member passed away recently. She was like a sister to me, more than a cousin. Grieving her has taken me down a path that has been very challenging and quite painful. It’s not an everyday thing but whenever it hits, I am struggling to get myself back on track with normalcy.
Emily, the way you express your love for family has been very helpful and comforting to me. I wanted to let you know how grateful I am.
My cousin/sister were the best of friends since we both were in diapers. She suffered from over 18 diagnosed autoimmune disorders. Last December she caught a cold which became pneumonia, which ultimately what ended up taking her.

@@lynnewright31 I very much appreciate you suggesting that. I have been thinking on those memories. The laughter. The love. The secrets. The raw truths that we shared with each other, that no one else knew. Those are so incredibly special and I am forever grateful for them. I have had an adult child of mine who has been extra unkind to me lately. They are upset over other things in their lives but are especially upset because I have been preoccupied with my grief and they think that I am making up how difficult this is for me. I keep them in my prayers because I know the power of prayer, and I don’t have a hardened heart towards them, but even though they are almost 40, they just lack the empathy of what I’m going through. I’m not sure how to help them understand.

One HUGE suggestion on math. Make your children learn their times table like we did. All multiplication 1s thru 9s in two or three minutes. They do not do that anymore but I made my son do it at home and it has helped him through middle school so much.
Lately I've been using a flat brush to apply foundation, and it has made every single foundation i own look amazing. Eveyone should really give them a go. I reach for the Royal & Langnickel BOM-07 brush the most, as its a little wider than standard (quicker application). It doesnt disturb my chemical sunscreen, and it makes foundations look really smooth over my textured, acne prone skin. Buffing brushes often are just not as forgiving as a sponge or flat brush.
Today i used the wet n wild photofocus with it, and wow, what a beautiful high coverage foundation. I almost cant believe the price. So amazing. Not surprised it won foundation of the year. Im very happy its so accessible. Crappy makeup shouldnt be made and sold at all. Just wanted to share that. That R& L brush really changed the game for me. ❤
First off, both Sing 1 and 2 are on heavy rotation during the morning drives to daycare. More specifically, “Shake It Off” and “Still Standing”. And that Elton John song is my jam! I always keep singing after Nan cuts off the song I’m the scene 😂!

I can't stop wearing the Cover Girl Instant Cheekbones. You recommended it not long ago and the color pay off is way better than the expensive blushes.
Which Shades do you recommend? I have a light warm skin tone and I can't decide. I've only been able to find it on Amazon so far, no luck at Ulta or Target or cvs, did you get yours?

Hey Emily! Yes, the cameo appearances by kids and cats are so fun! And your little ones are so alert and sharp - you're going to be challenged often as they grow up! And yes, I've had a few eyeshadow palettes that I've had to warm up to before they became staples. My favorite of those - and it was quite surprising to me once I thought about it! - is the Maybelline City Mini in Skyscape Dusk. The all-matte mauves and burgundy-plums are my colors for sure, and I'm on my third palette; I hit pan and go all the way into the corners on 5 out of 6 of the colors in that kit. It's the one I can always count on when I'm in a hurry or tired, or just unable to think creatively. Thanks for the video!
A pallet that I did not love at first, but grew to really love and depend on was the Anastasia soft glam palette. I think it’s terrific now, but I had to let it sit in the drawer for a bit before I appreciated it. Love the little ones coming in. Take care ❤❤❤

In terms of rediscovered favorites - I didn't love the Tarte Amazonian Clay Matte palette at first, but it continues to stay in rotation and I find myself using different colors in the palette with many other palettes. It is really versatile.
My favorite is still the White Peach palette from too faced!! I also wish Too Faced would bring back the chocolate bar palette I feel like that one had an awesome mix of colors and textures!

When my daughter was in grade school I had the same situation with the math lol! The teacher actually had all the parents come in and demonstrated how they’re teaching math so we would be able to help our kids if needed.

The Kosas trio (foundation, concealer, powder) I bought because of you, Emily, and I love them, as well as the Too Faced palette.
When ABH Modern Romance first launched, everyone lost their minds over it. I eventually bought it (on sale, of course) and could not enjoy it for whatever reason. I wasn't a fan of the formula and same with the Norvina palette.
Over the years I've changed eye brushes and application techniques and have became more confident in application. I gave Modern Romance another chance and have fallen in love with the palette. I enjoyed it so much I bought a new, fresh palette to replace the old, crusty one, when ABH site had a sale. It's now a much loved rediscovered gem in my rotation!!

The too faced chocolate bar palette! I got it in 2016, it was ok, but then in 2018 I fell in love with it!! It is still a top favorite for me! It’s neck and neck three way tie of top favorite palettes of all time, too faced chocolate bar, sweet peach, and Natasha denona my dream palette.
The Nabla Side by Side has been impressing me lately when I didn't care for it at all at first.
I always go back to the Elf New Classics and remember how much I love it …. Maybe you should bring it back out soon. 😊

The eye look is really nice from that Too Faced palette. it looks great when you blow your crease shade out & further up on your eye with the lighter shade! What if you sprayed your brush to use those glitters/shimmers? I know it's an extra step but they would probably stick together better & glow more....hopefully or maybe it's a bit of hard pan?

OMG! I grew up right next to Fairview Heights. It’s more of one huge shopping center than an actual city but one good thing is they do have pretty much every retailer and most restaurants you can ask for. It was great growing up since everything was so convenient. I never thought I’d hear about Fairview in a UA-cam video.

The only way I survived my son’s elementary math was UA-cam! You wouldn’t believe the number of times I thought to myself, “How is it that I have a college degree and I can’t do elementary school math?!” Thankfully when he hit middle school they reverted to “normal” math. The math struggle is REAL!

Do you still have the too faced sweet peach palette? I’d love to see you use it! The shade Peach Pit is my favorite shade ever! I always use it for outer and inner lid shade for halo eye. And luscious in the center of the lid! With a peachy crease, deepen with summer yum to deepen the peach crease, purple outer corner… (sometimes I do peach pit over entire lid and dab luscious or Bellini over the center of lid to to barely lighten center. One of the best palettes ever!
