India's External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar spoke at the Nikkei Forum during his 2-day visit to Japan. While interacting with the audience, Minister Jaishankar said that "India was subjected to injustice". While describing the time when India attained independence in 1947, he spoke on the aggression New Delhi faced. Moreover, reiterating India's stance on the Russia-Ukraine war, Minister Jaishankar spoke of how principles have been "cherry-picked" in a subtle dig at the West's criticism to India-Russia's friendship.

Japan can take the "Global South" positively by comparing it with a strategic move back in the WWII when Imperial Japan's move to expand into the southern Pacific although it was a wrong approach of colonial endeavors back then. However times are different now in a good and peaceful way under a defense pact to protect the interest of QUAD and trade relations in the Indo Pacific nations. Now changes are happening globally against the threat from China, North Korea and even unforeseen conflicts from within the western narratives alone. People need to change their old mindset of WWII differences and will need to see the times changed at hand are of top importance for this bilateral pact to start between India & Japan to take the lead.
Japan will always remain a highly racist society. I don't see Japan changing any time soon. So Japan will not take global South positively.
