Yeah, India is not sitting on the fence, they are squarely in the US/EU/Israel camp despite their failure to cheerlead for Ukraine. Anyone who does not understand this is not paying CLOSE attention. Buying oil from Russia is one thing, aligning with China and Russia against the US is an entirely a different matter. India believes that by helping the US bring down China, it will boost its own fortunes. But this is a wrongheaded view - the US will USE India in a divide and conquer scheme to stay on top of BOTH countries. The US knows a united Asia means they no longer will lead the world, so they are using India, Japan, South Korea and Taiwan to divide Asia to support US hegemony. However, the people of Asia don't want to be divided. The Chinese love Japanese food and traveling to Japan, love Korean drama and music, and yoga from India. Culturally, there is substantial movement toward Asian unity. Asians see themselves as part of a Greater Asia, which is scaring the bejesus out of the United States. it is only at the government level that a divided Asia seems possible.
I think most of the ministers which we have in Modi's cabinet are such, these are not chosen because of any family legacy but because of share brilliance and skills. Leadership and credit for making such a brilliant team goes to Modi
Still people in the west are in a way believing that they can influence India and geton with their version & views India is an independent country & has its own views and will do what their people need & that does not mean siding with anyone. With great diplomacy with Saudi Arabia Biden was very successful 😂 in adding more misery to the ongoing energy crisis & the west wants India to join them to make things more worse here!
@R.E.D well technically no.... Foreign minister deals with the relationship between other counties and the representative country ( to put it in short) and external affairs minister deals with that and some more....a lot more actually
I am a Chinese living in America, and I have to say that Jaishankar is a glittering example of what a diplomat should act and sound like. Our Western politicians and media are liars who don't care how often they are wrong. I have always believed that there is no shortage of smart and talented people from India, and if enough of them make it into leadership positions, India will become a superpower. It's time for the West to learn something from India and stop being so arrogant.
What India and China have to offer the world is DEEP wisdom built over thousands of years .. There were libraries in Nalanda that were many kilometers long and had students from both INDIA and CHINA -- It was burned to the ground by Islamic invaders in 12th century who had no understanding of what they were destroying. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nalanda en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nalanda#Destruction_under_Bakhtiyar_Khalji_(c._1200_CE) This was BEFORE Oxford and Cambridge had a single brick to their name. Well before the west conquered and looted both countries. India and China need to, TOGETHER, define their own destinies. We will be example to the world when we put our mutual differences aside. The small wars we fought will be forgotten.
cspdx11 Thanks ! As per Wiki, China's population is 1412.6 million, whears India's 1410.3 million & rapidly growing compared to China. India will displace China (where population remains stagnant) by the year-end as the most populous(No.1) country . Initially China was given a permanent seat at the UN security council, because of its largest population. Now will the same criterion be applied & India given a (permanent) seat in the UN security council? Indian presence (& effectively non-partisan) there, will stabilize global politics. There are some misconceptions among Western countries about population growth. India's growth isn't that big compared to many countries (in Africa & Latin America). China has enforced population control by brutal, undemocratic methods(one child norm); but now is getting the lower end of it. China isn't finding sufficient young people to man her humongous industries, supplying to the whole world. She has more old people to be taken care off (median age 39 years), while India has "youth bulge" (median age 29 years) to worry about, to put them in jobs. Had the situation in India been like in China with large scale industrilisation (production) things would've been manageable. Even in India, the South has a stagnating population as prosperity has ushered in, an attitude of having 2 children (it is on par with Eastern Europe) while in North, things are still unmanageable. Population growth tapers down as prosperity rises, making young couples plan the cost of rising a child for good life. After reaching a peak, India (as a whole) might get into that bracket of low fertility. An issue irritating me is, some guys keep flaunting statistics & figures relevant some 7 years ago, but are no more valid.
Actually, as a citizen of a country who also desires a seat at the UN Security Council, if I wanted to be frank it is the Council which should be abolished. It is the living proof of the Orwellian maxim that "some animals are more equal than others."
@@MrPoornakumar false. Our (India's) population growth has stabilized at a factor of 2.1, that's replacement population and not a rapidly growing one. It's only for the better. At the same time, china's population is decreasing.
@@tiagorodrigues3730 I agree. Can it be done? Is it possible? India wants be in the 5, because her policies have been stymied by one or the other member, while one member (USSR, now Russia) considstently vetoed, for India. But this makes India dependant on one member (of the 5) & Indian foreign policy is tied to this apron strings, with no freedom to pursue policies. As India was once (but turned down) deserves to be in the top 5 (or 5+). India is going to be the No.1 most populous nation in the world displacing PRC, may be by the year-end. With 17.6% of humanity wouldn't it be justifiable (to get a permanent seat in UN SC)?
@@ApurvJyotirmay India's population isn't rapidly growing. But compared to PRC where it has stagnated (almost no growth) it is growing. In comparison, Indian population at 1410.3 million. PRC has a population 1412.6 million & the gap is 2.3 million (these are estimates as per Wiki originating from World Bank or IMF). To add to the confusion India skipped (for the first time) census in 2021. In any case, by this year end (or before) India will reach an unassailable position, No.1 in population.

As an American, I wholeheartedly applaud Jaishankar's wisdom, balance, grace, and erudite honesty. What a gem of a minister he is for India! I only wish that our own "diplomats" at the State Department (master liars Blinken, Nuland, Sullivan) would have 1/10 of Jaishankar's honesty, grace, humility, and sophistication. This interview was obviously staged to put pressure on India to fall in line with the West, and it's refreshing to hear Jaishankar's well informed, balanced, and extremely gracious rebuttals to all the loaded questions from this stooge of an interviewer. It's also interesting to see that the tiny and insignificant country of Latvia has become an extremely loyal lapdog of the US in Europe, whose government suddenly became so emboldened as to diplomatically recognize Taiwan and break off diplomatic ties with Beijing (while ignoring the grave political & economic consequences of doing so). The loaded question from the Latvian "freelance" journalist was just another premeditated jab at India, which of course conveniently ignores all the crimes and atrocities carried out by the Ukrainian Nazis against their own Russian-speaking citizens in eastern Ukraine, the fact that the Ukrainian military used their own Ukrainian civilians as human shields in battle (as reported by Amnesty International and by Ukrainian villagers on social media who had just escaped such kidnapping by their own military), and the fact that Zelensky and his cabinet members embezzled billions of dollars of aid provided by the West. Janshaikar's dignified and gracious rebuttal was absolutely fantastic! I think (and hope) that India and China will eventually sort out their issues on their own, and become counterweights of their own on the global stage. "Ukraine on Fire" is a well researched documentary by the Oscar-winning director Oliver Stone, who himself was in the US military that fought in Vietnam. Everyone should watch the film to learn about the whole story of the Ukrainian crisis.

This interview of Dr Jaishankar is at pro level, seems like it's not an Indian minister talking on behalf of India but a foreign minister of the rest of the world, much regards to Mr Jaishankar...that's how a diplomat should protect the interest of its own country, reason why India is everywhere on the global stage coz they are educated and they know how the world works...love from Pakistan 🇵🇰❤️
Imran Khan has played video clip of interview yesterday .......praising india while in opposition for vote bank ..but himself destroy economical relationship with India.
The way he speaks "I am" and "I can" representing India as nation and be firm on the nation's individuality is commendable. I wish the ruling government will bring more such people in active politics to change landscape and perception of politics and India as nation. I really hope so...
We do have honest and patriotic ministers like him in this government. 1) Mr. Nitin Gadkari - Minister for Road Transport and Highways 2) Mr. Ashwini Vaishnav - Minister for Railways 3) Mr. Piyush Goyal - Minister of Commerce and Industry 4) Mrs. Nirmala Sitaraman - Minister of Finance ( I know a lot of people have been critical of her policy making decisions in the past but provided the fact that we have been able to come out of the pandemic without much severe damage to our economy, she seems to have done a decent job especially in these turbulent times) And there are many other examples. It all stems down from the top. All these ministers have been handpicked by PM Modi. If you have an honest and patriotic leader at the helm of affairs, then you will always have talented and deserving people in important ministerial positions. 🙏🏼
I don’t know why the journalist kept on asking him the same question in different version which axis is India will be with. This gentleman stood his ground and in a very cool demeanor explained where India is. I love to see him as the next PM of India.
To become PM, one has to be a mass leader. S Jaishankar is not a politician as such. He is more of a technocrat. He is doing what he is good at. He is an excellent diplomat and he will remain the External Affairs Minister for the next 5-7 years.
Yes not everyone great person In thier field deserves to become PM, it's like saying hey you do your job very well at the base level why don't you run the company , different skills are required for different jobs , I think Jaishankar is right where he is and he should stay there
Naa Modi , Yogi , Fadnavis are PM material who pick dimonds like Jaishankar and Vaishnav, make then ministers who has zero political base and give then freedom to perform.
He’s an extremely wise person and probably the best in his field.. but I’m not sure how he would Wade through our difficult and often dirty politics (not saying international politics are easy but my guess is that they’re different). It’s like making your best general the defence minister, but again being a PM of such a big and diverse nation will have its own challenges. For now I’m just happy the govt rightly chose to make this career diplomat the foreign minister..
That’s how her brain works. She refuses to learn. She’s taught to think a certain way. He showed her another perspective. But she failed to perceive it. Hopeless. Maybe that was her agenda.
Western intellectuals want to boil everything down to 2 options unless its gender. Then there can be many. They need to be talked to in language they understand. Explain to them a rainbow is not black or white.

The reporter keeps asking the same question over & over in different ways.... Hey woman, which part of his brilliant answer doesn't get into your head??? Dr. Jayashankar totally nailed it. It is so refreshing to see a diplomat with high intellectual standard. India should be proud to have a man like him representing them in the global arena. "No country in the world will disregard its interest"... This man spits only facts!! 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
INSEN JOJO! 1 second ago gonna be honest with you..i thought she was a professional where her motif was clear, to crack open Jaishanker and flood out India's policies or stances and hold them (as in India) responsible/accountable on a global forum....thats it, not to try and counter argue, just ask intelligent questions therby passing the ball onto Jaishnakar's court to make him conceed clarity driven responses.... but when she failed to do so, instead of being cool and calm and composed and play it like a good sport, her constant interruptions along with grouchy sulky statements and the predicament on her face while trying to throw the last few questions in a desperate effort to 1UP Jaishankar was pretty evident and made it ample clear, she was raging from inside...there is monumental disgrace in being outwitted with politeness in front of a global audience.....her facial reactions towards the end solidified her burn....heal soon my dear lady....and don't be too hard on yourself, no one can win a fight with Jaishankar, he is a masterclass on his own....

"I am not sitting on the fence....I am sitting on my ground!" BRILLIANT!!
@Roman Reigns why does it matter ?

Our Western politicians and media are liars who don't care how often they are wrong. I have always believed that there is no shortage of smart and talented people from India, and if enough of them make it into leadership positions, India will become a superpower. It's time for the West to learn something from India and stop being so arrogant.
What India and China have to offer the world is DEEP wisdom built over thousands of years .. as an American - I say India should be doing what is good for India. Times have changed.
India also deserves a seat at the UN security council
cspdx11
Thanks !

I agree.
@@ApurvJyotirmay
India's population isn't rapidly growing.

As Mr. S JAYASHANKER sworn in as cabinet minister on 30 may 2019, and took oath on 5th July as member of parliament exact on 36th day after becoming minister. hence it's right to say he was a minister who never fought election, and that itself shows his image & credibility. Plus it put other country external affair ministers in psychological pressure.
I didn't recalled anyone else except for 2 members of rajyasabha those were selected without caos, like sachin sir, late lata ji, rekha & many more every time.

OMG! This man is a real Indian gem. Thank god we have such people occupying such major posts. Kudos to Modi for giving us Jaishankar!
Not modi thank to the big bang
@@freefireshaggy1323 i thought you should thank ola instead. ola created big bang also

Really S.jaishankar nailed it😎
OHHHHHHHhhHhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
Western intellectuals want to boil everything down to 2 options unless its gender. Then there can be many. They need to be talked to in language they understand. Explain to them a rainbow is not black or white.
This man does an excellent job defending his nation's interests from what seem to be attacks from a motivated puppet.
I can guarantee you that had the interviewer been a white skin American, he/she would have been much more friendly and less hostile towards the minister as compared to this American lady of Indian origin and this is the sad reality.
She is western stooge
@@ArkoRay can’t agree more. There are some NRIs who are always trying to prove their loyalty to the west.
@@uday3402 right
@@ArkoRay sure.. Agreed
INSEN JOJO!

gonna be honest with you..i thought she was a professional where her motif was clear, to crack open Jaishanker and flood out India's policies or stances and hold them (as in India) responsible/accountable on a global forum....thats it, not to try and counter argue, just ask intelligent questions therby passing the ball onto Jaishnakar's court to make him conceed clarity driven responses....
but when she failed to do so, instead of being cool and calm and composed and play it like a good sport, her constant interruptions along with grouchy sulky statements and the predicament on her face while trying to throw the last few questions in a desperate effort to 1UP Jaishankar was pretty evident and made it ample clear, she was raging from inside...there is monumental disgrace in being outwitted with politeness in front of a global audience.....her facial reactions towards the end solidified her burn....heal soon my dear lady....and don't be too hard on yourself, no one can win a fight with Jaishankar, he is a masterclass on his own....
She likes to be embarrassed multiple times
@@insenjojo1839 you nailed it exactly what I wanted to point out
And the questions coming on her phone is ANONYMOUS...no name!!!!
🇸🇬Me Singapore, tho most times I'm busy but I don't feel tired of watching when Dr Jaishankar is speaking! I learn "new philosophies" each time me listen to him!
