As a Camino veteran/addict (27 times) I love watching folks undertake the journey. I enjoy the enthusiastic start that's inevitably followed by the realization of what you're getting yourselves into. I'm looking forward to seeing how it unfolds for y'all! Here's to a successful pilgrimage! Buen Camino!
27 times!? Wow Kempton!! Amazing. Hahah you’re very right about that 🤣 we’re reading this from the Camino right now. Excited to pave our own way out here! Thanks for watching & for the support 💛💛
Thank you for this very real look at starting the Camino & for taking us along ~ on your Honeymoon! 😂❤️ I’m a 73 year old grandma so I’m living this vicariously through video ~ for now!! Who knows, maybe some day I’ll use this wonderful video while I’m packing! Love & Best Wishes for an amazing trek! ❤️🙏🏻
Thankfully a useful Camino video. I've been down a rabbit hole trying to get specific info. Almost everyone just wants to show what they packed and how much weight it all is. Finally, someone showed what it's like to get to the starting point, and how to check in. THANK YOU! Next I just need to find a video on how you exchanged money, where, when, how much was good for the first few days, when did you need to replenish, etc.
Hello. I m just got back from my Camino, leaving from Le Puy to Santiago. It took us 70 days, we could only do 20 k m a day, but we made it. You do learn along the way. You learn what you don t need in your pack, to always have water from each town and a snack in your bag when the places are open. Menu del do a are incredible deals to eat before they close at 4 pm. Keep inspiring.
I have been wanting to take this journey for years now. I am grateful that somehow your channel showed up in my feed. Thank you for explaining everything that takes place prior to starting the pilgrimage.
I just finished the series...Glad i found it because i've been looking for videos of people doing the Camino in October. I'm doing it this october so thanks to your vids i have a rough idea what to expect in october. Nice job =)
Hey, Buen Camino, wish you safe travels on the Camino. I just did 5 days from where you started, St Jean and it was a little more challenging than i expected but I decided to take my time and made it. The company I had booked thru, Orbis Way had set up my hostels and baggage transfer from day to day, which is also available. Part of the booking experience was to provide an emergency phone contact in case of any emergency which they had stressed to use if I needed it. I made it though, advice is to hydrate continuously and pace yourself if you are not used to long hikes, thanks again good luck you bring back great memories for me
Exciting!!! Impressive to read in a couple of replies to comments, that you posted this from the Camino! I would have thought you'd be too exhausted to think about editing! Looking forward to seeing your journey 💛
Yayy!! Should be out in 2 sundays! We are still finishing the Camino and need to time to make the video perfect 💛 thank you so much for sticking around Bill!
I think it’s great to do something like this! Adventurous! Thanks for bringing us along. 😅you two will do well together, you have a closeness that is special .
I’m so excited you’re doing this! My mom did the entire walk about ten years ago, but I didn’t really get it yet back then. This video makes me want to do this for my honeymoon aswel! So inspiring! Looking forward to more videos!
Would love a packing list of what you brought and did/didn’t find valuable. But also would just be happy with knowing where you got your khaki pants, Kelly! Thanks for a great video series!
Great Video!…Good info for those who want to make the journey…Completing the Camino shouldn’t be your focus. Savor each step as travel through this beautiful Country. This is a trip of a lifetime. Soak it all in!…Take plenty of photos!…Sending hugs 🤗🙏
there is also a direct busline from paris to bayonne, after that it's a 15 minute train to the starting point. edit: this direct bussline doesn't stop at the regular busstation but stops very close to the trainstation (saving you a 20 minute taxi)
Congratulations on your honeymoon. It will certainly be 1 to remember and testing . I am walking it in 2023 and looking forward to spending my 59th birthday there
How on earth did you film holding that camera (while walking vigorously and sometimes in rain) ? i'm dying to get beautiful footage of my camino upcoming and i have that same camera but struggle with hikig with it. any advice on gear? btw, amazing job, i love your energy.
Hey guys, thanks for sharing. We too celebrated our marriage but by walking The Way of St Francis. This is a 560Km walk from Florence to Rome in Italy. Long distance walking does test a relationship but I’m happy to say we survived. And tbh I really miss the challenge of walking such long distances each day. Hence why I’m watching your videos so I too can plan my walk of the Camino. My wife has already walked it and encourages me to do the same. I am planning to start in May 2023. Thanks again for sharing and please know that everyone who posts videos of their journey encourages everyone else to start theirs.
W6 to GO! My husband and I JUST got back 10 days ago. 4th time! LOL. We’re addicted! Really miss it already. And always do! Portuguese trek next, Spring, 2023 God willing!
We have learnt so much from you so far. Such an honest watch. It has certainly lessened my nerves. I love your little flower necklace. Care to share where it’s from? 😊
Re bag weight, you don’t actually need a Camino shell, so maybe this is adding to your weight, also trekking poles which you don’t really need walking on flat surfaces or through towns/villages
We are in the middle of the Camino so would definitely disagree on the walking sticks 😂 they’re incredibly helpful and most pilgrims have them. it’s personal preference though and no right/wrong way to do the Camino 🐚💛
I’ve don’t the Camino 3x now and I’m always looking for videos that really capture the feels while I was on it and you guys nailed it!! Can’t wait to see the rest of the journey
@@SamandKelly yes it was the same all three times! I absolutely love the French way especially because of the people you meet but next year I’m doing the northern/primativo route!
Great start to your wonderful honeymoon! .. And I will walk 500 more .. la da da da.. la da da da.. Lol ..Hope you make it! or at least have a lot fun trying! lol As always can't wait till next week to follow your travels! Love you guys!!
Haha that song is exactly what’s happening! 😂 thank you so much Paul! Our goal is definitely to “make it”- just not sure which route we’ll take to get there 💛 thank you for watching!! See you soon 🫶🏼
Hello ! , thanks for sharing, question, do you know with the shipping of the suitcase, do they also offer to ship to your next location (like the next stop of the town you are going to, and then keep doing that until you finish?) Cant wait to see more videos, good luck! you can totally do it.
Hi Annie! Thank you for watching! Yes there is a Spanish service that will also ship your bags one stop ahead for the day. It’s around €4 per day. You can arrange that in most albergues 💛
Once again amazing video. I'm a little surprise the Camino is paved. Hey, maybe after this you guys can go do the Inca trail in Peru. see you next week.
It is not paved. Occasionally you'll have a stretch of road. Most is unpaved. That pavement is killer on your feet. Pilgrims love it when the trail turns back to dirt.
Good luck! I walked the French Route from SJPP to SdC in 2016. Since then, I’ve done 5 other Caminos… I’m hooked. I just subscribed. Who is that shirt made by, that Sam is wearing? Looks like it’s well made and Camino worthy.
Wow that’s just amazing!! We’ve heard of a lot of pilgrims getting “addicted” to the Camino ☺️ thanks for subscribing and watching!! I think all of his shirts were from Target’s athletic line 💛
@@SamandKelly I will have to check Target out. Just watching your Paris video right now. Definitely makes me want to go back! Buen Camino! Looking forward to more of your Camino videos.
The three videos never says a word about Christianity that I noticed. For them, it is just a trek. At one point they show Sam taking a whiz, which is disrespectful. The words on the certificate say it is given to anyone who arrives "with an attitude of devotion, or because of a vow or promise," and one can simply vow to do this for exercise, but it seems a little disrespectful to others. The words are: "The Chapter of this Holy Apostolic and Metropolitan Cathedral of Compostela, custodian of the seal of the Altar of St. James, to all the Faithful and pilgrims who arrive from anywhere on the Orb of the Earth with an attitude of devotion or because of a vow or promise make a pilgrimage to the Tomb of the Apostle, Our Patron Saint and Protector of Spain, recognises before all who observe this document that: …………… has devotedly visited this most sacred temple having done the last hundred kilometers on foot or on horseback or the last two hundred by bicycle with Christian sentiment (pietatis causa). In witness whereof I present this document endorsed with the seal of this same Holy Church. Issued in Santiago de Compostela on ……… of …………… year of our Lord ………. The Dean of the Cathedral of Santiago"
So many mistakes. Packs weigh too heavy. Total weight should be less than 10 lbs. the woman needs a real shirt to protect her shoulders from the backpack straps. The guy mentioned having a laptop in his pack- absurd. Not surprising these two complained the whole time and then skipped most of the Camino. Don’t follow their advice.
St. Jean is pronounced like Saint John. I'm hoping your trip turns out to be much more than a series of videos to get views. The Camino is a very sacred trek and is certainly no vacation. Please be mindful of this. Makes me sad that it has been reduced to a mini content farm in the past two years.
Hi there! I see you make loads of UA-cam videos yourself. I think you’d understand the value of documenting special experiences. Watching other pilgrim’s experiences on UA-cam is what inspired us to research this Camino in the first place & we hope we can inspire others as well! We pronounced this town wrong and we may pronounce many things wrong in the future. If that’s going to upset you we may not be the right channel for you. 💛

You are doing great and make it look easier than it probably is. Enjoy every minute!
Thank you!! & great point. It definitely looks easier on camera than it really is 😅💛
Rooting for you!! My husband and I plan to walk the way once we become empty nesters; in about 3 years. Your video popped up on my feed. What a gift!
