Oh!!! So excited to see this video! You guys are doing so well!!!🎉🎉🎉🎉 keep it up!!! Thank you for sharing all that you’re doing. I’m learning a lot. Hoping to one day soon walk The Camino my way. 😊
WOW!! "I was surprised and taken back by your comment about the food in Spain. Spain has long been recognized and appreciated for its exceptional cuisine and diverse wine offerings. The Basque region alone boasts an impressive 13 Michelin star restaurants. Additionally, Galicia is renowned for having some of the best seafood in all of Europe if not the world. The variety and quality of Spanish wines are also worth mentioning. While everyone has their own preferences, it is important not to judge Spanish cuisine solely based on the food encountered along the camino. The camino may offer a limited representation of the vast culinary landscape that Spain has to offer. I encourage you to explore different regions and conduct thorough research before making sweeping statements like 'the food sucks in Spain.' It's worth noting that taste can be subjective and influenced by personal preferences and cultural backgrounds. By embracing a more open-minded approach and delving deeper into the diverse culinary traditions of Spain, you may discover a whole new world of flavors and experiences. Happy exploring!"
Generally liked your Camino de Santiago series but saying Spanish Food sucks is not cool. Especially since most people would disagree. Especially when Spain is currently ranked 6th in the world for Michelin Star'd restaurants. The seafood all along the north coast from the Basque Country to Galicia is considered one of the best. Anyone who's been to San Sebastian can attest to this. The tapas and food in general in Sevilla, Granada, and Cordoba is fantastic. Madrid and Barcelona both offer a fantastic array of restaurants and local eateries that are superb. The best chef award for 2022 went to Dabiz Munoz from Madrid. That said, I'm glad you both had a Buen Camino!!
The saying do it your way, it’s your Camino is a selfish way of thinking about the Camino. It is destroying its legacy. It is becoming a place where tourists go to so to so they can come and say they have done the Camino. Many just spend large amount of money to pay tour companies to book all their accommodations and their belonging only carrying a small pack on their back. Doing it the easy way. It is supposed to be a pilgrimage where you where you learn that life is full of suffering and that you can manage to survive it. Solving your problems with money is not a good of doing your Camino.
Sam and Kelly - Love your videos about the Camino ❤ - And I am so surprised over all the negative comments. It is your Camino and you did it your way 👍 You should always follow your hearts, and do it your way 👏 I wish your guys all the best and hope you will have many more fantastic adventures 🙏
I kept meeting Irish pilgrims who walked for two weeks over a period of a few years so that they could finish the Camino in the way that works best for them. It sounds like you are doing something similar. Hope you enjoyed the experience and the many other adventures you pursue.
Very surprised about the food comment. We've been to Galicia and found small restaurants even out in the boonies that had great delicious fresh and inexpensive food
A woman I know at the age of 70+ paused due to pneumonia, big pause for the pandemic then chemo, and is going back this year on a shortened trip to finish segments and repeat a few.
8:46 you miss the point of the camino by opting to skip for whatever reason, you start something you finish it. The way is the path we each walk in life, good things happen or bad we keep walking the path we chose. You can't skip life just because it looks like things are gonna be difficult. Other pilgrims will be there who will walk in the rain also every day with you, they are no more special than you. Everyone is going through the same thing
I started my Camino in early June 2012 and finished in early August 2012. Like you it was hard some days. I'm glad you are walking the Camino your way. I had a friend go back and walk the path she missed the next year. Each area is so different from the other. My least favorite part of the Camino was the last 100 km. Good on you two.
Question answered: you're walking in October. Next question: at 14:47, what was the name of the restaurant you visted? We're both vegetarians and I'm wondering how easy it is to find these options on the Camino?
My favourite part is when Sam pronounced Portomarin correctly! First time, well done!! He butchered the other cities and villages you've been in. Particularly St Jean Pied de Port. You are both troopers!
Walk your own Camino, I couldn't agree more! And if your time is limited, you have to make choices. For me it means doing it in 2 parts. I'll start from my home in Belgium and bike pack to the Pyrenees. And I hope to hike the 2nd part on the Camino Frances. But yeah, you never know, as the weather, it can rain the whole time! 😉 All the best! Kaat
It’s your Camino, however, it seems to me the Camino just isn’t for you. No shame, it’s not for everyone. I watched a few of your videos and you simply did not look happy. I wish you better ventures in the future.
Enjoyed the video. Thought it was interesting you guys are from Thousand Oaks. I lived there a short time from Feb 88 - Jun 90 -- probably before you were born. But you beat me to the Camino!! I leave for SJPP a week from today. Hope to do the whole thing to Finisterre but you gotta do what makes you happy. Best wishes to you both.
It’s an 800 k pilgrimage that one starts maybe because one does not know what to do in their life. It’s a month out to reassess. When I completed this in 2014 for the first time I was facing into a marriage teetering on the brink. I took the walk to see what was going on. I asked a friend to book a one way ticket and I headed off into the unknown. The Camino provides and my trip, the unknown, not knowing where I was going or staying, the other pilgrims, the albergues, the snoring, putting one foot on front of the other. The pain I brought evaporated over the miles, and was exchanged with other pilgrims. I could write for hours. I’ve been most years since and it’s always different.
Hello from Australia. I've watched your camino videos. Great choices in music BUT you havent listed the songs so it's like trying to find a needle in a haystack. Any chance you could list the music of all the videos in a reply? :) Pretty please.
It's a pity about the rain, good plan to skip the middle bit I think. Definitely important to do it your way, because you want it to be something you remember fondly, IMO 😊 Awesome video! ❤️
OMGGG loved this video! It makes me want to try the Camino de Santiago one day...don't know when but you two have def inspired me! Also always love how real you two are 🥰
If you expected Spanish food were spicy and hot like Mexican food then you were totally wrong, but saying it sucks...Spanish cousine its widely regarded one of the best
great stuff...we finished in Santiago several weeks ahead of you, so missed most of the rain. It was our 3rd, and your advice about walking your own journey is excellent. Take a bus, taxi, or train as needed and make it as wondrous as you can. be well!
Love this 💛💛 most of the pilgrims we met had no intentions of doing it from St Jean to Santiago. Finding what works for them & their schedule instead. Thank you for watching and congrats on your 3rd!
If you're eating bad food, regardless where you are in the world, it's bad food. The Camino is a massive tourist trap, so shame the food from your perspective isn't better :(
I am sorry but you have an opinion about the food in Spain after 8 days on the Camino Francais? And you are quitting after 8 days? Call yourself a pilgrim?
Camino food is generally quite awful; but it's not true Spanish food. They don't eat what they serve us. Oh yeah the waiting for dinner after walking 20km was hard!! I was always starving!!!
Totally new to your channel. Love it. You guys are so cute 😍 congratulations on your wedding. Hoping to do this walk this summer so excited. Love to all
When you said you are going to take advantage of the bath I thought you meant having a nice couples bath together but then Kelly was using it to do laundry. It made me chuckle😂 Thank you for another fun video, it's nice to see you having fun and doing things your way😊
Thank you for that perspective! I really like them! I’ll link them on instagram when our video next Sunday goes Live :) we will also have a packing video to post ☺️
Hey!…Great Video…This was YOUR Camino. Doing the entire length or skipping the middle was YOUR decision. For me, the length you walked was perfect. The memories you’ve created will last a Lifetime…Sending hugs 🤗
You guys are kool. You're right too! Spanish food can be boring as they tend to rely heavily on two things, garlic and paprika. A lot of places serve the same things too! So kool to see your'e doing it your way, the first and the last leg n not the whole thing.
You two are the cutest couple! Thank you for your great recap of the your journey! You share a lot of great little pieces of info for those who are thinking of taking this trek! Take care!
Much better, you deleted the scene of the crime. Stop STEALING from landowners. You're on a religious Camino: Remember the commandments. There is one specific to theft and pilgrimage.
What does this mean? The whole video made me cringe, whining through the whole experience and criticizing everything. But I didn't see them stealing...?
@@jpmcchi! Thanks for bringing that to our attention. We deleted it as to not encourage any one else to make the same mistake we did. Our videos seem to really bother you as you’ve been patrolling them looking for negativity. We aren’t the right channel for you and that’s ok! Hope you find joy elsewhere 😊
Oh!!! So excited to see this video! You guys are doing so well!!!🎉🎉🎉🎉 keep it up!!!
Thank you for sharing all that you’re doing. I’m learning a lot. Hoping to one day soon walk The Camino my way. 😊
Thank you so much!! 💛💛
We hope you get to as well!! 🫶🏼💛
It is their Camino, honeymoon. Let them do it their way, and not judge.

They only go to very cheap places, if you want somenthing good you must pay for it.

I have been to Spain for a week and the food is Good! I m beginning to understand why there are a lot of negative comments here. Hmm. 🤔
Camino is not for comfort...but for realisation.
Or depends what you are looking for.
Sin dolor no hay gloria!
Moral of story. When something gets difficult, just skip it.
😂😂😂
these people are so annoying

Some of the food on the Camino is so-so, mainly the Pilgrim meals. Search where Spanish are eating

Use a shell to drink from fountain it’s cleaner for others
I agree, that was disgusting. He should have used his shell..
I thought the same thing. I’ve never seen anyone selfish enough to do that.
And waste half a litre by showing the camera its wine 😂
Why would you do the Camino in October?! Of course it’s going to be cold. It’s the same latitude as like Canada🤷♀️
Very surprised about the food comment. We've been to Galicia and found small restaurants even out in the boonies that had great delicious fresh and inexpensive food
We were as well! In a lot of the small villages the food options are more limited and we were not the biggest fan after a few weeks of the same food 😅
I would like to know the name of the albergues and hotels where you stayed, which had private bathrooms please.
A woman I know at the age of 70+ paused due to pneumonia, big pause for the pandemic then chemo, and is going back this year on a shortened trip to finish segments and repeat a few.

This is the world of social media influencers. It’s all about show and appearance. Little depth or authenticity.
Did you book your accommodations in advance? Did you find them only with a guide, or just by walking?

Thank you!!

I enjoyed this so much vicariously. I’m having knee Surgery and can’t do the Camino now. Connie, Southern California.
Try Calle Laurel in Logroño for some of the most amazing pinxos (tapas). The street is famous in Spain

What time of year did you walk the Way? I'm planning my Camino for this coming Sept/Oct and am curious about weather.
Ha, I wrote this as I started your video and at minute 8 I heard you say "end of October". LOL!
I agree with you on doing your own Camino. Good video
These videos have been so helpful! Im doing mine this May! Can you tell me what kind of hiking pants you bought ?
What are your tips on footwear? Thank you
you can do it!! ❤❤❤
Do you recall the train bus route you did? We also only have 15ish days, and instead of doong just the 1st third, we might do what you did.

What month did you go in? Great energy from you two. 😊
Damn that’s a lot of complaining…. from people only staying in private rooms….and skipping most of the Camino.
Exactly, well said
Yeah...you have to train for it...The Camino keeps some and lets others go...
I m planning to go in aug and sept and I am training walking with our packs .

They did stay in some albergues - and they walked to Logrono 🙂

Hey guys stay at home, and do the Camino around LA and Chicago. Plenty of Starbucks and Macdonald’s to visit, don’t forget to upsize. ffs
Yeah!
So how hard was it made you Stop and leave Camino de Santiago Not easy track
So glad you are doing it your way!! Living the adventure in whatever way makes you happy! 😊
Thank you 🥹💛💛
Total Gen Z egocentric, shallow narcissism. Nothing earned, nothing achieved. Might as well go to the gym to watch other people lift weight.
This is to the Camino what Wild was for the PCT.
Zero planning and the wrong "adventure".
OMGGG loved this video! It makes me want to try the Camino de Santiago one day...don't know when but you two have def inspired me! Also always love how real you two are 🥰
walk eat sleep repeat Camino chant Buen Camino
Why start it if you have no intention of finishing it. Take the easy way out.
Sometimes you may to come back . I may have to do it in two go due to time constraints and physical constraints.
W❤️W! That’s Awesome! Cheers for more exciting and incredible globetrotting adventures!🥂❤️✨
Cheers to that!! Thank you for watching 💛💛
Good decision to skip most of the Camino. That way other pilgrims don’t have to be exposed to your complaining.
