  • This woman was fired on her actual wedding day by text. And what was worse, the company and her boss were fully aware that it was her wedding day. The idea that someone could take that moment to give her that news is just horrendous and one of the most toxic things that I have encountered.
What was meant to be one of the most special moments in her life was tainted. And it just was so unnecessary. Everything I found out about this company just sounded awful. From firing people without giving any reasons, to toxic behaviours, to guilt trips, basically everything you would expect a company that would fire someone on their wedding day to be.
Is this the worst day you can be told that you were fired?

I was front row to this sh** show. Ruined her day. I was so angry for the couple. She was given glowing feedback while working and then to have this on her wedding day. I’m very proud of her for not laying down and taking it and I’m glad that in some ways this company is going to be shown to be the horrible company they are. I appreciate Ben giving her a voice too.

@@fdm2155 I dont think it was . I suspect it is the Napoleon complex of not caring for minions as they dont matter .
From whats stated they have a large turnover of staff and thats because they are not valued and are easily replaceable .
I have worked for a place that was very much the same . The boss had a new £100K car every year ( with one of his selections of private plates ) and a house in Cyprus as a weekend get away but yet cost restraints ment mini wage and a 3 strikes and you are out policy . A strike could be talking to someone on the way or back from the toilet even if it was work related ! . You talk to those in charge only ............... i didnt last long 🙂 . Oddly i wasn't fired but walked away which was apparently unusual .
There raison d'etre was to take on foreign workers who couldnt speak English , give them complicated work loads , watch them fail then sack them the same day for being useless at the role . You soon learned to called everyone mate as to remember a name was pointless .

I'd also like you to know that I've recently moved into a managerial role of sorts and I've found your channel an invaluable asset as to what I should not do and a reminder that I should endeavour to treat people, even when they cause me related issues, with simple humanity and rather than berate them unfairly for causing me a problem, to resolve it and then reflect if further action even needs to be taken, often it doesn't.

They called me up and fired me saying that the position had been eliminated (A lie). I was told I needed to drive to the office to drop off my computer before the EOB. I said no. I told them to ship me a box with everything from my desk, and I would return the box at their expense with my laptop. The box was empty with a note that all of my belongings from my desk had been thrown out. They hired a replacement the very next day after firing me - this a guy with no experience but had been a friend of someone at the parent company who wanted my job. Sounds like discrimination towards families or women that are pregnant, have kids, or want kids. If it's in the US - you probably have a case for discrimination. I don't know about other jurisdictions.

It is also true for the UK where this happened. Once she starts taking it through the ACAS system, she will get a few low ball offers to make her go away, but if she sticks with the process, she will get a lot more.

Thankfully yes, but 20 or 30 years ago, there were no effective protections because they could always weasel their way out of it with any number of tactics. One place I worked at manufactured fake write-ups and the state accepted their word over the employee's - including forging signatures and the like, without question. Just to keep from paying unemployment.

I would be whistle blowing the crap out of that place, if they have done this before and quite regularly they must be getting some kind of benefit from it, maybe a government payout or something, because the amount of time, effort and money it takes to hire someone and to then fire them has to be offset some how. Something seriously dodgy is happening.

It isn't my decision whether to reveal the company or not. And the reason people don't is that it hampers any process they might be going through from a legal perspective.

Can they do class action lawsuits in the UK? This is a clear case of discrimination. How infuriating!

This very same thing happened when I was contracting with Marsh Ideas in Cincinnati in 2019. It's no surprise that within two years, the company was downsized by 2/3rds - including the creative director who did me in.

When they don’t shows themselves on the video it gives you more reason to think that there is another side to this story that would shed light on the ridiculous way this played out.
