    Hi Thomas, I have been using the BMPCC4K for about two years now and it's a great camera. I see that you are sharing a single battery between the camera and the monitor. Just to let you know there are a number of UA-cam videos which have identified a problem with that configuration since after some time it will damage the internal HDMI chip within the camera. It seems that the common battery power supplied to the monitor can cause it to generate an HDMI voltage difference as compared to the HDMI voltage utilized within the camera and after some time the camera HDMI interface chip will fail. The solution is to use a separate battery attached to the back of the monitor to supply the monitor power.

      @AdrianoEdits Рік тому

      the solution is just to plug power cable BEFORE plugging the HDMI. If you do this you will never have any issue

      @@AdrianoEdits I just use a battery for peace of mind. I'd hate to forget and damage my camers, or have one of my assistants damage it because they didn't realize

    One accessory I find very useful is SmallRig's Lens Mount Adapter Support. It connects the Metabones Speedbooster to the camera cage via the little tripod foot at the bottom. This prevents the camera from twisting in the cage (I had that happen to me all the time) by adding a third point of contact. Makes the whole thing rock solid, highly recommended!

    I also got the portkeys monitor to control my P4K with it. But after nearly 2 years of using it I gotta say, it's not the perfect solution. Sometimes there are connectivity issues and the control doesn't work. Generally this issue can be fixed quickly, but when you're in a hurry (which is like always the case when on set) this can be really annoying. Also the menu of BM Cameras is just so good, using the menu of the monitor instead which isn't nearly as good is kind of a bad trade. So I find myself still using the controls on my P4K quiet often. But of course having a monitor with the capability to directly control your camera is still a plus.
    Also: great video, keep it going! Best wishes from germany.

      I had some connectivity issues with my sonys on this one, the P4K has been pretty flawless so far *fingers crossed*. but yeah the bmd menus are fantastic, i do find i sometimes end up just flicking the battery hinge back to access the menu at times. but its nice to have both options. I also wish the portkeys was 7" but oh well

    Smallrig have the Dual 15mm Rod Battery Hinge MD2802, that would be able to screw into the back of the rods, IF you are using Smallrig or Niceyrig rods with threads. That way you can get the V-mount tucked in even closer to the camera and still have it tiltable.
