Former WWF/WCW star Jim Powers talks openly about his experiences in the World Wrestling Federation.
Though Powers does not name the specific WWF agent who propositioned him, several other wrestlers from that era (including Jim Powers former tag partner, Paul Roma) say it was Pat Patterson.
As Jim tells it, Roddy Piper heard about the situation and went directly to Vince McMahon. Powers credits Roddy with helping save him from getting fired because he says normally after turning down an advancement the office would typically dispose of you.

The more I heard Vince McMahon speak of Pat Patterson I knew they're was a thing between them. Pat Patterson wanted the guys. Vince wanted the guys and girls.

I have always respected Roddy Piper and even more when he manned up and , fighting tears , admitted what happened to him in not so many words . When I was about 8 years old two brothers owned a local corner store . One about in his forties and his younger brother in his twenties. The younger offered me a part time job after school stocking shelves . Little did I know I was being groomed by him . After a few weeks he offered to take me to a Penn State Football game which would require us to stay at a motel . When my mom found out about the stay over she went %$#@ing nuts and knew what the deal was . His older brother took me aside and told me stay away from him before my mother got involved . I was without a father and was his mark . I can understand what these young wrestlers can go through trying to reach a dream . Standing up is hard to do when your dreams are on the line , but down the road your self respect is something that can't be haggled with . Kudos to you for standing up to this bullshit !

Jim was NOT used to his potential. As a kid, I could not understand why he always lost despite looking like Ultimate Warrior w/o facepaint.

Tom Brandi who was tag team partners with Jim in the AWF talked about how Pat was a huge sexual predator. Brickhouse Brown mentioned how Pat tried to get Brick to perform a private dress rehersal for him. Shane Douglas and a couple of others confirmed Jim's story about Jim getting his notice because Jim would not engage in those activities with Pat.

Owen said give me the phone and told Hacksaw, "Why don't you find it yourself you lazy fat ass!!!" Owen hung up the phone because he heard Hacksaw storming out of his room coming toward the office. Owen then told the Hotel employee, "Just tell him Jim Powers said that."... Ha ha ha! Afterwards it did get personal between Hacksaw and Powers. I don't think they ever fought though.

Paul Roma didn’t like Jim Powers. The reason why people believe that story of Jim Powers was part of the ‘Pat Patterson, Cream Team!’
People believe it because they’re marks that believe anything they’ve heard from the same debunked sources for decades. If he was screwing the vice president of talent relations why would he be in preliminary matches and never win a title? Why wouldn’t he be like other rumored “team” player Brooklyn Brawler who had a job with WWE until Patterson died? Why wouldn’t he have gotten a single or tag title run like another supposed boy toy Silvin Granier? Doesn’t add up. Paul Roma hated Jim Powers and started the rumor. Maybe it was Roma on the team. He’s the one that got another tag team run, tag title shots, battle royal wins and wins on pay per view not to mention plugged in with NWA/WCW and pushed in the Four Horseman even after all other members said no thanks. Flair himself said “I think we got stuck with Roma because Jim Barnett was a fan if you catch my meaning.” So maybe it’s another example of accusing a guy of doing what you’re doing.

In Patterson and Terry Garvin's case it would be "giving a push" though, Everyone who knows anything about Pat Patterson and Terry Garvin know that in the ball game called life they were the catchers not the pitchers. I worked for Harley Race and WLW, Harley's wrestling promotion on and off for 20 years and heard ALL KINDS of stories from guys and girls that was in WWF at the time and them walking into Patterson's or Garvin's office and they were on their knees blowing or bent over the couch or desk in their office or taking it from behind by new young guy or rookie.

Regardless of what type of "favors" Powers did for Pat Patterson or lack thereof, he was never going to get that big of a push regardless back in the WWF because he was a smaller guy and Vince liked to push the bigger guys like Hogan etc. The best hope for guys Powers' size back in the day in the WWF was being in a tag team. Powers was about 5'10" 225 lbs which isn't a "midget" in actual life but in the WWF back in the day I'm sure Powers was viewed as "tiny" by the WWF management.

Because it would've very possibly taken the entire company down if he was. Therefore he 'had to be' protected. People have always said this about Patterson since the 1980's (among far worse situations about underge boys). As more cases kept coming forward in more recent years, they then used his triumphant 'coming out' as a front. It's incredibly sad.

Pat Patterson was a higher up in WWE that most tried to avoid stirring the pot, or else they would face the same consequences Jim Powers did and would be condemned to jobber status. Paul Roma, by association with Powers, was also a jobber until writers decided to give him a pass for not being Jim and decided to include him in the tag team of Power and Glory with Hercules.

There were 2 episodes on talk shows in the 1990s which focused on what Jim powers is talking about here. In one episode (Donohoe) one of the wrestlers was explaining how he was being s3xually harassed, and the audience actually laughed.

I dont know how Hot Rod was a street kid. I spoke with his mom, and he was in was going to school to become a lawyer and started wrestling and then quit school to make a career out of wrestling.
