My dad was on the ground crew for this flight and makes an appearance with his signature smile at 17:21. So proud of him and all those that took part in making history! Here, for generations to come, this video will live and thus all those heroes will live on as well.
Robert "Gray" Sowers lives near me and is a friend of mine. He is so interesting to talk to . He went on to be the 1st instructor pilot on the SR-71 Blackbird and also flew Charlie Pride to his concerts for many years. He is very humble about his accomplishments and I'm glad to know him.
