The ultimate Cold War propaganda film starring the Convair B-36 PEACEMAKER nuclear bomber. Produced by the U. S. Department of Defense and distributed to most movie theaters as a clear message to Soviet spies of the consequences of aggression against the United States.

Lockheed is still working out of those same buildings at Carswell. Layout is pretty much the same, but updated and a few other hangers have been added.

386 were built....not one bomb was dropped in anger....a B-36 once flew non-stop for 51 hours.....maintenance of the beast was an industry itself.....in 1953, one B-36 flew for 35 minutes quite happily after all the crew bailed.....most ended up scrapped at Davis-Monthan AFB....I think there's four left.
