Love that you have your own space. Please do not get rid of the craft supplies that you are not currently using. I have found once i do that a couple of weeks later, i need them back! Lol 😂😂😂😂😂😂
I love all of the beautiful creations that come from your fun crafty stash. I really enjoyed seeing how you organize everything and the little appearances from Frankie were so cute.
Loved seeing all your supplies, everything is beautifully organized. I had no idea you previously did altered art/mixed media. I also lost a lot of the Prima paints because they dried up😢 and love the Prima moulds too! Oh Frankie is such a cutie pie❤❤
I hope to one day get back into art journaling. I really love mixed media, all the paints, stencils, etc are so fun to play with. It was painful to throw out all the Prima paints. They were some of my favourites for sure. Frankie is my constant little companion 😂 and studio Buddy!
Your craft room is amazing and I love how big your craft collection is with all the different glitters, paints, papers and stamps! Loved your in-depth walk through. Your space is really great and well spaced out
Wowsza! What an amazing, amazing craft from you have! You literally have almost everything that a card maker, scrapbooker, and quite a few other crafting topics could ever need and want! I love your craft from, and cannot believe just how organized you are I recently moved and have been organizing my new craft room, it’s a lot of fun, but a lot of work! The one thing that I have been looking for without paying a dollar a sheet is card stock!!! I don’t know what the prices are like in Canada but here in the United States, I live in Massachusetts it’s so expensive! I can remember back in the 90s of paying for for a dollar and specialty paper was $.50! Do you have any suggestions? You seem to be a very knowledgeable woman, I’m hoping you can lead me in the right direction?! Thank you so much for sharing this. Incredible video! This is the second time that I have watched your video! I need to start watching your other videos! I think the only thing that stops me is that I don’t have any supplies from close to my heart, and I’m just assuming that that is what you use for your videos.? Thank you thank you thank you! Liz.😊🩷👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
Hi Liz, thanks so much I'm glad you enjoyed my tour. I do love my room and it's definitely my happy place. I think cardstock/paper everywhere has gone up substantially in the past couple of decades so I'm not sure you'll find it for super low prices. Probably finding it on sale is your best bet. I do use a lot of Close to my Heart products including the cardstock but a lot of my techniques can be applied to other paper/embellishments. I hope you'll check out my other content and find some inspiration there as well!
Chelsey, what a wonderful tour. You have done lots of superb, do-able organizing! I, too, love our previous CTMH organizers. I have MS & am a wheelchair user. I am using multiples of the stackable "small" CTMH organizers as l can stack 'em and just pick the one l need, for example, the one full of enamel dots, then take it to where I am working! Love the current "mini" CTMH organizers for the same reason! Thank you for sharing your beautiful, functional space with us! Loved all the delicious colours of Baker's twine, too, BTW. Yummy! Workace Wonder has been excellent for me, as well. Thanks again for sharing! ~Ali (from NS)
I'm so glad you've found a way to use the smaller organizers in a way that works for you! It's probably good they don't make those large organizers anymore because otherwise I might just keep buying them and expanding my collection! I'm so glad you enjoyed my tour and found some good ideas in it. I like to find a system that works and then just keep using it. I'd rather be creating projects than organizing my supplies. Workspace Wonder is awesome! I've been thinking about painting mine white...but I don't know if I'm brave enough!
Wow!! Would I love that room!! So much light & sunshine, it is definitely a happy room. You are so fortunate to have that space to spend your time in creating. Actually it isn't much smaller than my whole flat, as I live in a double garage converted into a flat & my family have the house section which is a two storied house wrapped around me. I just wish that I had more windows that faced the sunshine.
Yes sunshine really makes a difference. In my last space I had one window that was north facing so not a lot of light. That's good for the longevity of supplies/paper, etc but not as nice for creating.
It's really nice to have things tucked away out of sight with the drawers but I do wish I would've bought more of the wide Alex drawers. They work so well for all the small jars and things.
It's hard not having your own space where you can leave things set up. I started out with a card table in a closet, so I know it's challenging when your space isn't what you want.
There's something about white storage that makes even a small space, like mine, look larger and cleaner. It also reflects light from however many windows you have. Thank you for sharing, some ideas there for sure.
You have a beautiful space. I love, love all of the windows it's so bright up in your studio. Do you remember where you purchased that stand for your Cricut and printers? I love that solution and I think I need it too :)
Thank you. The windows are what sold me on this room especially right now through to the longest day of the year. The spring/summer light in the evening is amazing. That stand came from a furniture store and I repurposed it for my room. I want to say it's from Leons in 2005. Sorry no links for that one!
I don't have as many sprays and mists as you do, but I have the same problem ... I don't remember to use those products! They are behind me but close, but still, they are out of my direct sight when I'm scrapping. UGH. Thanks for sharing your space.
Sometimes the only way I use some of my fun mediums is to make it a challenge for myself and design my project around using that specific supply. I definitely need to use my mists more!
Toward the end you showed a 3 tier lazy Susan with sprays on the top tier. What brand and type of spray were they? I have not seen that type of bottle before. Beautiful room!!
The ones with the large sprayers are Prima Color Bloom and they are beautiful shimmer sprays. I’ve had mine for quite some time so I’m not sure if they still carry them.
Love your room. 2 questions, where did you get the small plastic containers that your embellishments are in. And 2 what size are those envelopes that your Alphabet stamps are in?
Thank you for sharing your craft space! Where did you get the magnetic sheets? Are they just the flexible magnetic sheets you can get at hobby lobby? Or vent covers at Lowe’s?
Close to my Heart dies come on magnetic sheets when you purchase them. So when I condensed my dies down to put multiple sets into one envelope I ended up with leftover magnet sheets. They are pretty sturdy and work so well for keeping die storage neat and easy to see everything.
I got it from a furniture store back in 2005. I think it was meant to be a microwave stand or a printer stand I can't remember exactly. It's lived in a few different spaces in our house, but works perfectly for the printers and Cricut now.
It was from a furniture store and we got it in 2005. I think it was sold as a printer stand or a microwave stand because there is a hole in the back to push cords through.
Love your room. I’m working on mine. I sold D.O.T.S. Which is what CloseTo My Heart was called in the middle 70’s. I just bought two towers of stamp pads newer ones with all the refills. It is so hard to get the pads open. Any hints?
Do you have the magnetic ink pads? That is the newest design. They just come right apart and magnetize closed so there shouldn’t be any problem opening or closing them once the plastic wrapper has been removed.
@@ChelseyVorosmarty no I have the ones that twist. Very hard to open. I’m not buying anymore inks for awhile. I also have all the Tim Holtz ones and Stamping up ones.
@@sylviaesposito4757 the old style are definitely not as easy as the new magnetic ones. The best way I’ve found to open them is press down on the little half circle part if it’s really tight I put my nail into the gap there to break the seal. At the same time pull up on the sides. Then twist the lid around to sit on the base. Hope that helps!
That's so funny, the stuff I painted white and sealed turned yellow too!! I later found out it's because I used some random oil based polyurethane we had at home! Big mistake. lol
@@ChelseyVorosmarty sounds like my crafting journey 😂 Started with some 3 drawer plastic organizer in the dining room, that was over 20 yrs ago! Quickly outgrew that 😂😂
Nice organisation! Two questions tho: 1) is your daughter not interested in messing up with all these shiny supplies? :D 2) I can imagine all of these supplies costed a little fortune :D Maybe someone should make a vid about how much it cost to have scrapbooking as a hobby :)
My daughter has her own little cart of supplies and is actually really good about asking if she wants to use something. My supplies have been collected over 20 years with at least 14 years of that scrapbooking and Cardmaking have been my full time job. Things do tend to collect over time.
Varnish yellows on every surface, over time. If you've ever chipped varnish off an old wooden piece, even the chip will be amber colored. The wood appears 2 toned in chipped areas. I'm always surprised how many people use it over paint. If you desire a top coat on a painted surface, a polyurethane finish is the way to go. Polyurethane will preserve the true color and not yellow.
I can’t remember exactly what he used. I don’t know if it was varnish, because polyurethane sounds familiar. 🤷🏼♀️ Whatever it was it was recommended to us by the paint store staff. I’m sure we’ll eventually get around to fixing it, but I’m too busy creating at the moment.
@@ChelseyVorosmarty it's already cured & hardened & it works. I would not throw money away changing it. I simply added the information because you stated you didn't know why it yellowed. The paint store personnel may not be aware. My ex & I dealt in antiques & refinishing furniture many years. I was often shocked at the suggestions from cashiers who knew nothing about the product they sold. Nor their ego's if challenged. Nice craft room, btw. I always appreciate these intrusive peeks into organizing the hoards of supplies we accumulate. =] TY
I would like it to be pure white. What kind of paint and how would I prep the surface paint over? It’s quite a smooth surface so it feels like it might be hard to cover. It’s true the staff don’t always know what they’re taking about apparently 😂 I wish they would just say they don’t know. I enjoy peeking into everyone’s spaces too! Always new ideas for storing our supplies.
Recently, within the last year, I bought an IKEA vertical 3 shelf cabinet for my kitchen. The henge system that is on it is the cheapest thing I've ever seen and as soon as I touch the door to open it, it falls off! I'll NEVER BUY ANOTHER PIECE OF IKEA FURNITURE AGAIN !!! What s piece of junk.
I'm sorry you had that experience! I've only ever had good experiences with the pieces I've bought, but that is very frustrating when you get something that breaks immediately.
Love that you have your own space. Please do not get rid of the craft supplies that you are not currently using. I have found once i do that a couple of weeks later, i need them back! Lol 😂😂😂😂😂😂
