Wonderful craft room tour. So much fun to watch. The eye shadow pallet holders are the best tip EVER! Seriously. No one is doing that. You ROCK! I love how you say that too many supplies weighs us down. Everyone is always selling us something. We have to have it all or we are missing out. Who told us that?! Stop buying things you know you will never use. As for the craft cart, just take it outside and spray paint it WHITE.
I really like this room. The white/clear design keeps it looking fresh and clean. Colour comes from the supplies and your art on the walls. Really great tips. Thank you. ❤️🇨🇦
I am so coveting your craft room! Finally, someone who reveals the dimensions of her small craft space. My space is about the same size as yours, but there is a large floor-to-ceiling window and window seat on one side, and the opposite side is entirely closets. I don’t know if you panned around your room or if I just missed it. I would have liked to see the whole room. It is encouraging to know I can, as you have, design a useable craft space with so little real estate. Also like you, I don’t have much of a budget to work with. You did an excellent job designing a very comfortable, functional craft room. I am very happy for you! Thanks for sharing.
Thanks for watching! In the beginning, I pan the room, but with so little to pan, it's easy to miss. As small as my space is, it works for me. Using the IKEA room planner was a game changer for me as it allowed me to visualize things in my small space before purchasing them. ❤️
Your room is great! Without going through your comments, you can spray paint your black cart. If the cart itself is fine, a good spray paint by Kilz or Krylon should cover it in 1 coat. TFS 😊
One of the most inspiring craft room spaces i've seen. Yes you could fit more in some drawers but because you can does not mean you should... What's important is that you have what you need at your fingertips and feel inspired to create in this room, and not to manage tons of stuff. You made everything simple, accessible and pretty (I also have mini drawers organized by ink color, I love opening them). I also use the same container for my glue eraser and pens and so on in the exact same way, it made me laugh😂. I have a similar space for crafting, it does not need to be bigger. Too many craftroom tours make me feel overwhelmed by the sheer amount of stuff and in my opinion are too much about "look what I have" and "you should buy this". This video is refreshing.
@@thiscallsforconfetti I do! I just need it a bit more tidy looking, being able to contain stuff in drawers or cabinets would be great. But a little at a time. During Covid I couldn’t find the IKEA glass from cabinet I wanted in white so I picked the dark blue thinking I could trade out for white and use this elsewhere in the house but I LOVE the blue. I store all my stamps and dies, stencils and embossing folders in it along with a a shelf for art reference material etc. but the rest of the room I would like white👍🏻 thanks for sharing.
This was extremely helpful for me. Not only on the advice to build slowly, but HOW to build it out slowly. This room would be a dream room for me. I love the white/clear happy vibe and also the limited counter space and design. This room is fab! I will take your advice on the purging. I don't do this for a living so I'm sure I don't have the sheer volume that others have, but I know I have stuff that haven't seen the light of day in years. It does seem overwhelming to me because it's all on 'display'. No cabinets...yet! I really like how you did your inks...that makes so much sense! Thanks again, this was helpful.
I tore my cart back apart and put a primer spray paint on then hit it with a really warm pink. Since i picked the exact color, i think i love it far more. I also saved quite a bit buy doing it myself! Love your room!!!!
Yes any very light colored room is helpful to bounce light around the room, which helps to see better when crafting. I have my room in a very light creamy beige, with natural and light oak colored woods , and my containers are opaque because I personally don't like clear , as I find it a bit visually cluttered for my taste.
One thing you can do is get some spray paint and paint your black cart. That has worked for me in a pinch and is usually very inexpensive! Your craft space is great and organized. Thank you for the video!
Lisa your craft space is just beautiful! Love the bright white walls and pops of rainbow color, it’s a cheerful happy place, I know I would love to craft here. Thank you for sharing your space, taking the time to show us all these great storage and organizing tips, and letting us peek into your crafty world. I love how you’ve maximized your 100 sq ft into not only a beautiful but very functional space too. Your room makes me want to clean mine out and start from scratch. Love love love ❤️oh and Emma has a pink cart from Michaels but they had other colors too. 3 tiers on wheels. Hope you find what you’re looking for.
I also agree on the fact that light is more important than space for that hobby and it's really useful to see how a small craft room can be extremely functional.
I hope you found the cart you wanted BUT my first thought was that if you haven't yet, as a crafter, you could definitely fix it. Get that Cricut out and go to town. Make the black "go away". Make it an accent or a "frame" for a design. Thanks for all the ideas.
What a great space. My son moved out and I took over his bedroom. 😂 I bought a craft cart from Michael's, they have several sizes and a variety of colors for each. Mine is white❤.
This is brilliant! Way to go! I have an office/craft room, but haven’t had time for crafting in years. I do have a lot of IKEA products I went with white vans and drawers, even though I really love the new deep blue color they have. Color change. I’ve been able to because I stuck with a neutral color. We are finishing off our shed into a workshop/storage/ hang out area. I was looking for ideas for hidden tool storage and nice looking workbenches since we finished off the space and it looks too nice to be messy!😂 I love how you used the Alex drawers combined with the shoe cubbies for the higher workspace. Hello! What a beautiful room. Can you please share where you got your white glass mat? I have the Tim Holtz black one but would much prefer a white one. Thanks!
$500.00 at Ikeas isbare bones? Not to be a negative nelly, but I don't have one piece of newly bought furniture. I started with "bare bottom" with garage/ yard sales and 2nd hand stores.
I think maybe you missed understood my point. I started with a $500 budget and that got me started with the bare bones of my room from IKEA. When I first started crafting it was a dining room table and plastic bins. This video wasn't about that. This video was about building this room starting with the previously mentioned $500 budget. 😁❤️
I don't like white either, so I use cream, beige and tan along light colored woods. The point is having a light colored space so light reflects better.
Sooooo much visual clutter in such a small space. Small spaces need to clutter free; especially the walls. You have amazing flat surfaces to work on but you have reduced their working capabilities in 1/2 by having all that stuff on them. You have so much under utilized storage space. There are some amazing small space and tiny home living UA-cam videos that can help you make the most of your 100foot space and the amazing amount of storage you are not using to it’s full potential.
You weren't listening, Joyce Gifford, bless your heart. You must have been distracted by the CLUTTER! I promised to check out your craft cart if you left a comment. No, I didn't suggest you leave an asinine comment to make yourself feel better for a few minutes. Hon, you might want to open your ears and close your hole. I recommend you refrain from coming back at me because I will clap back. Please do not mistake my kindness for weakness. Remember, I said please. 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Wow. You haven’t see many craft room videos I think. Not everyone has the same way of organising. No need to be nasty about it. I think this is a beautiful and inspirational room. Also nice to see a craft room that is not the bigger than my whole house.
