      As a Russian speaker, I can't agree more. Russia's choices have put another black mar on their reputation and legacy. The Soviet aspirations of being great diplomats and scientists and musicians has crumbled into criminal activity and war against Ukrainians they worked so hard to convince were their brothers. ни стыда, ни совести. No shame, no conscience.

    OOOh! Putin must be quaking in his elevator shoes. The UN meeting to talk about what Russia, a permanent member of the Security Council with veto powers, is doing. He might get another sternly-worded letter.

      Just that there ARE French, Polish, English, Colombian troops in Ukraine, Russia has killed a lot of them already, IN UKRAINE.
      Russia, like ANY country can have whichever country’s troops on its OWN soil if it so wishes. It is LEGAL. Mercenaries are illegal.

      @@UserDefaultEuropeCan you speak every official language of the UN? Be real. Almost everyone needs translations.

    • @kirktown2046
      @kirktown2046 5 днів тому

      @@UserDefaultEurope No, not fluently. Americans, Australians, and British tend to native fluency only. But American English has the largest vocabulary of any language in history, often exceeding the word count of someone who's intermediate in multiple European languages! American English speakers typically possess a vocabulary of around 42,000 words by early adulthood.
      Europeans often speak multiple languages, but not quite fluently. For example, someone proficient in English at a C2 level--the highest level of fluency in the Common European Framework of Reference (CEFR)--would have a vocabulary of around 10,000 to 15,000 words in that language. Multiply that by two or three additional languages, and a multilingual European may command around 30,000 to 40,000 words across all languages combined.
      So why would we bother with your puny little multilingualism when we have mighty American english? 😂
      Only joking, vocabulary isn't everything. Learning multiple grammar systems seems to be good for your brain.
      US Public high school students study usually study 1-2 years of, usually, Spanish or French... Sometimes handful of others like German or Japanese. Virtually any language is available for private schooling, which is where Chinese, Hebrew, and others are taught.

    • @UserDefaultEurope
      @UserDefaultEurope 4 дні тому

      @@rufusirvin5279 With my seven fluent languages I can understand a large number of languages related to those languages. Most people speaking unique languages at the UN use English, such as Finns and the Japanese. I’ve watched my first UN session in the 1970’s. Yes, there are translators, but you really shoot yourself in the foot by sending in there something like a Republican, who doesn’t even speak proper King’s English. No hallway talks and you’re out of the loop.
