These enormous areas of land north of Manchuria and west to the Sakhalin Islands, and south on the Pacific coast down to Vladivostok, are as traditionally Chinese as you can name. The historical records are indisputable. China has never acted on these claims up to the present day, but now that they are a huge growing economic and military power that needs more land and resources for its huge population, history is on China's side and not Russia's.
I've read somewhere that the area of Vladivostok was inhabitated by Koreans some time in history🤔 So is it originally Chinese or Korean lands?
So a treaty is invalid ?
Too bad about their demographic collapse. Maybe they hire an NK / Russian labour force?
The Chinese claims are based on historical colonialist conquests. They're as valid as Russian claims, i.e not much.

Why risk a war over Taiwan, when you can just walk into Siberia and the Far East.
Do you like your chips silicon or frozen?
@bakedbean37 None of that production capacity or IP will survive an invasion. For 'us' it is about semiconductors, for them it is about national pride, control, exclusion and power projection into the Pacific.
China will get Taiwan within 24 hours, what's the risk?

China needs to take his peace back; if you know what I mean; and it’s really what the world needs; just musing about!
The West should express support for China to reclaim Siberia.
Yes support China to reclaim Siberia and Taiwan
Use Google Earth to fly the Russia-China border. It's almost always thinly populated on the Russian side while developed on the Chinese side. Makes sense for China to provide "property management" services.
Why should they do that? Help China, why?
Taiwan is Chinese in everything else
I've said all along that the west and China will come to an agreement that China will take a large part of Russia and that will get recognised as China by western powers and in return China allow Taiwan independence..

Before, or after WW3?
@@randywatts6969 They're already doing it. Chinese nationals are moving there in droves and local Russians are complaining about them owning so much land/business there.
Putin's legacy will be securing Russia's future as a Chinese vassal state. In that scenario, all the CCP has to do it squeeze their leverage in order to gain concessions - likely starting with co-rule over Outer Manchuria in order to "protect the Chinese communities there".
Great how the headline is nowehre to be found in the actual interview.
Russia is like the humans that allied themselves with Mordor in the Lord of the rings.
Father Time is close behind both of them.
If Xi ever wanted to know if the USA would stand back and stand by while they invaded Russia, now is the time to find out. Spoiler alert - USA may even help.
Very good point, and yes the US might very well help Xi in that conquest...well at least under the table. We have to remember...the US is currently in a debt of about $3 Billion to China. Can you imagine the interest we're paying on that? So, if Xi ventured to take some of eastern Russia...I think we'd support it, but quietly. And Putin...wouldn't do a thing to stop it...because he can't, especially threaten the nuke option. But, I don't think Xi is ready to do that just yet. He's waiting to see how Putin comes out of his current blunder.
i doubt that.......Russia as a nation itself is needed by the west to fully contain china.......the downfall of russia would do more harm to the west.......imagine China getting hands on all of Russian natural resources and land to grow food.....plus their population = Disaster for America........but if you can help turn Russia ( who already dont really like china) into a democracy and ally of the west ...i.e....Join Nato........then its checkmate for China since the west would basically control the economy and resources of the world.......as well as have the 2 top weapons manufacturing nations on the same team......in my opinion
also the West would fully have control and be able to completely block China from access to the Arctic.....
When you consume too much America propaganda, this is the comment you will write.
And then look how the army goes against Xi and topples him, do you really believe the Chinese army will go against Russia in the current situation, even if the order is given... how do you even imagine such an order... ?! Attacking Taiwan without warning at any time, no problem, the troops will happily go... attacking Russia, no, no, that can't "just happen" without a reason, they would think Xi has gone crazy and remove him. It doesn't matter how much of a "dictator" he is.
Yeah right....
Finally, someone is stating what I've been saying for several months.
Taking Taiwan is too risk-heavy, and China doesn't want the additional sanctions and trouble that comes with it.
Taking Russian land in the Far East, however, Ukraine has already demonstrated that Russian land can be taken fairly easy without any nuclear backlash. Russian military is also extremely weak. Taking Russian land in the Far East would be far more easy and potentially profitable without the risk of additional sanctions from the rest of the planet.
Got to Agree. Bit of chat at the UN and forgotten about in 3 months. As Boris Johnson has said, go and look at the map ! I am convinced this will happen. Create some kind of border tension, anti smuggling nonsense, protection their own citizens excuse etc. Nothing Russia could do about it or anyone else.
russia has nuclear weapons on the border , 3 minutes flight from Beijing. Xi has already been told even amasiing troops on the border will lead to immediate destruction of Beijing, this was done very clearly in front of the whole CCP assembly so they have all been warned. China is saber rattling because they can do nothing else
If russian military is extremely weak then why hasn't Ukraine pushed them out yet? And why does Russia keep taking land?
@@kartikeyatiwari2502 - 1. Russia was supposed to be the 2nd strongest military in the whole world, so, you should probably be asking why they didn't take ALL of Ukraine in 3 days like they wanted. 2. Ukraine has population of 33 Million. Russia has population of 144 Million. Maybe you should ask why Russia needs soldiers from Chechnya, and North Korea. Maybe you should ask yourself why Russia needs military equipment and supplies from Iran, China, and North Korea? 3. Ukraine has "support from NATO nations, BUT, it's a slow drip. IF Ukraine got everything it asked for when it asked for it, Russia would already be out of Ukraine, but, NATO's secret strategy is to bleed Russia dry until Putin "has an accident", and Russian regime change is forced to abandon Ukraine. 4. Ukraine has taken Russian Sovereign territory, just like Russia has taken Ukraine sovereign territory. 5. How many ships does Ukraine have in its navy? How many Russian ships has Ukraine sent to bottom of sea? 6. Do you only get your news from like one place? ... or an echo chamber of sources that only tell you what you want to hear? Maybe you should start looking for news from other sources from all over the world, from places that are not allies with Ukraine or Russia, NATO and see what they are saying? It could be some sources that don't have an agenda might tell you more actual truth than propaganda.
Anyway, if you can't see how weak Russia is, I recommend you go see an eye doctor, and if they can't find anything wrong with your eyes, then you might need to see a brain doctor. :)
@konstantinavalentina3850 literally no Russian official ever said that they wanted to take Ukraine in 3 days. If you still believe that myth you probably don't know anything about the conflict. Also, US is supposed to be the strongest military, why did it lose to Vietnam?

China are FAR more vulnerable to Russia style sanctions.... they are huge importers of energy to name but one, an issue Russia have little exposure to (hence they are harder to sanction than most)
And stopping their exports would crucify Chinese industry, mass unemployment almost overnight, quite horrible for millions of poor Chinese workers, though on the positive side we would stop the incessant flow of all those F**king iPhones!
Vulnerability can be a two-edged sword - as in this case, on account of Russia's need for export -derived revenues to prop up its own economy.
Russia trashed its European golden goose. They can’t afford to afford to repeat the mistake with China.
