As many people have requested a Redragon keyboard review over the years, here is one! Strange to see such a blue keyboard for a company called Redragon, but I like it :D .

Never have I thought I would hear the name reddragon.
Just ever?
for a second i got excited as redragon doesn't usually do floating caps, but i guess they went floating due to tooling cost.
Your voice always makes me plug in the headphones instead of relying on my small laptop speakers.
nice Mario-Doom shirt
thanks :D

Yeah, I'll go on record with that 8) .
facts
Honestly, for how obscenely affordable redragon stuff is, they make good things
They got me into the hobby and while i did switch to higher quality things, thats not a knock against them. As i said, for the price, their stuff is pretty great
They make a low profile compact layout with numpad It’s great for the price and the low profile clickies have a snapspring, not much tactility but I did a mod without taking them apart. Boosted the tactility and click noise like crazy.
Redragon stuff I find is good value for money - ie. really cheap but not terrible quality for how much you pay.
Yeah. I had a nice experience with a controller I bought from them.
Same, I bought an RBG gaming mouse from them, 1/3 the cost of a Razer brand mouse, looks and functions pretty much the same.
I usually recommend one of their more basic products when someone asks for my opinions on a very cheap first mechanical keyboard.
Definitely not great, but perfectly fine when you get a complete mech board from a brand name, for $30US while on sale.
tbh they are better than what ever Logitech or Asus or god forbid hyperX the redragon K552 has hotswap switches so when ever ur done with their ultra cheap switches u can always get some akko or any other switch with some modding
You should totally take a look at Haimu silent switches, they achieve a really decent degree of silencing without any silicone dampening elements but with some ingenuity!
Hmmm might take a look at that if I get the opportunity, thanks for the tip!
I'd really love to see you have a look at the Redragon K530! It's a really nice 60% keyboard for the price in my opinion ^^
I see Amazon sent the keyboard in an outer shipping box. I've been burned several times forgetting to specify an outer box at checkout (by specifying it needs "gift shipping"). They put the shipping stickers directly on the keyboard box and the box ends up getting scuffed, dinged, etc. The keyboards also often arrive with broken keyboard dust covers or broken/dislodged keys due to rough handling.
Good video
Any plans to loom at the MoErgo Glove80?
The design of the keyboard looks almost like that of a Corsair one with a kind of a winter-themed colour scheme.
I would like a wireless, backlit, mechanical and 100% sized keyboard with Nordic layout and some control keys for volume etc. Not many options around.
Keychron K10 Pro
@@bismuth7730 That... does seem like a good option. My old Logitech K800 is slowly giving up and I need to replace it at some point this year.
Meletrix is working on a zoom109 and zoom98 keyboard. Maybe they will work for your needs.
Redragon just released a Purple switch Keyboard.
I have been using their Blue Switch variety for a long time. Pretty sure they are Kaihl switches but not 100% sure.
Whilst not being an uber Mechanical keyboarders wet dream.. They are pretty solid and good value especially if you do not want to pay the Corsair or Razer tax
I actually think that Redragon uses Outemu blues and not Kaihl, but idk as well. Very good and cheap keyboards though
MK enthusiasts are weirdo, optical keyboards are the smoothest keyboards all around. Yet they spend more and more cash on BS linear mech for more "thock", just the sound, doesn't make any sense.
@@floorgang420💀
@@floorgang420 Optical market is ass. There are almost no options for customization, no qmk compatible pcbs, nothing.
They are outemu
mmmmmmm Metal. Metal keyboard....mmmmmm. Good to see you Tom :D
I've never needed to say that company's name, but there is only one d. Re dragon Red ragon.
REVIEW THE K586 PRO BRAHMA
Redragon is a decent brand hawing decent quality stuff for the price, but honestly I hate 104s.... Because considering how many 70% boards now have physical media control it's inexcusable for 108 to not be the standard for full-sized imho.... at least give it a dial or something.
One of my nephews bought a Redragon board a while back, and let me try it out while I was at his place, and I was impressed for the money, but I can do without all the RGB Rainbow in my face. I guess the older I get the less I care about trying to impress someone with a stupid light show.
Backlight is especially useful for old people, so you can see the keys. But I only like white light, not rainbow.
@@clintonleonard5187 Maybe, but I was born mostly blind in my right eye(can't be fixed with current medical tech), and not perfect vision in my left eye, and I mostly touch type, and found that a good desk lamp when at home, and not under the bright lights at my work does the trick, and no backlit keyboard needed.
nice colorway but the case looks sharp
are you dutch?
yes, what gave it away? xD
seems like a good deal. $111AUD is a pretty fair price for what you get.
This looks a lot like the Redragon Kala I have. It has pretty shit Outemu Blue switches, but they're sooooo much better than the "Redragon" switches that the Kumara has, for example, and the board with the switches sounds interesting. Also, the hotswap system on all Redragon keyboards I tried is absolute garbage and the switches stop working after some time, so you have to remove the hotswap "pins" and solder the switches directly to the board. Though I haven't tried any recent keyboard from them so that might have changed.
Not counting the shit hotswap system and the less than ideal stock switches, it's a pretty solid cheap board. I imagine that their new keyboards are even better at price-to-performance.
Weird to see a reddragon review in this channel xD
It's a verb. To redragon is what one does after one has been dedragoned.
Random Fun fact: Redragon sells a version of their K552 TKL keyboard without switches and key caps if you really hate the Outemus and the ugly Sci-fi fonts
Its actually not Red dragon, but RE-Dragon. Like they dragoned once, now they dragon again.
The lack of expletives makes me trust Redragon more.
probably has a cast aluminum case
They call that "RGB"‽ 😁
Hahaha not everything can be a Void keyboard! :D
Bet this is going to be a short one, since the switches are the really cheap Outemu MX dustproof clones. Also the bitchiest thing about these cheap mech keyboards are the fact that the use a different hotswap mount so typical MX switches won't work. So unless you use a different Outemu switch(or you get the Akko switches), putting BOX Jades or Zeal Clickies on that thing will be a hassle.
The Switches are 3 Pin. You can use Zealios or every other Switch in it. You just have to cut off the 2 stabilizing pins.
@@gh0st1976 Actually no, outemu sockets also differ size wise. They're tubular and narrower while kailh/gateron hotswap sockets are flat. That means that a lot of 3 pin switches like Kailh or 5 pin switches with the side ones chopped off still won't physically fit in the Outemu sockets because of the contact pin size.
@gruiaolaru511 this man gets it.
@@gruiaolaru511 Welp, guess you have to solder it if you want to change switches, then.
@@clintonleonard5187 You'd have to desolder the outemu sockets first, which to be honest, seems like too much of a hassle for mediocre boards like these.
Today I learned that ragons are red but sirens are blue
You should unbox a bad dragon
Disappointing, I thought it was Bad Dragon
Looks like a generic cheap ~GaMeR~ keyboard to me. I'm pretty sure this isn't a machine aluminum case, looking at the construction it just looks like a normal folded metal case. The separated sides with screws is a dead giveaway.
Do you live near a chemical factory or something?
Lol no, why? xD
@@Chyrosran22 you mentioned sirens in the video. i was thinking some sort of leak idk
@@dphlon3374 Oh, I think it was just an ambulance tbh.
why you even test theese crappy boards ?
People requested it xD .
