Hi Susan, thanks for this video. I am not a mum but I want to be one day, so this is definitely a topic I have been interested in. I have heard that you have to wait longer after a vaginal birth compared to c section. It will be great if you can do a similar video with a lady who has gone through vaginal birth too.
Susan Yara you could have come up with something better instead of teaching people when to have sex, it’s so shameless of you both.
I really appreciate that you discussed pain during sex after a c section. I had no idea that was a thing when I experienced it. I’m not sure why no one talks about that!
My gynaecologist told me it can burn because the hormones that help you make milk also really dry out the vagina so as your baby slowly needs less milk from you, the vagina will slowly returns to its original glory 😉 hope this helps someone ❤️
My daughter will be 5 months old in a couple days and we actually just finally did it last weekend. I had a vaginal birth barely any stitches but holy shit I couldn’t believe how terribly bad it hurt. I almost cried! My husband never made me feel pressured at all which was so helpful. Go at your own pace ladies! ❤️
I read that we had to wait 4-6 weeks after giving birth, but you're right, I think we should go at our own pace and do it when it feels right to do so.
That is so important to do it at your own pace. What conversations did you and your partner have about the whole process to keep him in the loop?
There was nothing as good to me as having sex with that PINK girl who kept having my babies. No man has had a woman until he's been with a beautiful red head. I had blonds, brunettes, Latino. All that, but the red haired girls made me like a piece of steel.

I think there's a striking difference in the case of vaginal vs c section when it comes to sex. So it would have been interesting if you included someone who delivered vaginally. It makes quite a difference. Libido and physical ability are two separate things in the matter. As a new mom, I didn't even think it would take SO long to heal down there. My friend who had a c section was back to it within three months. Completely different experience and I had to go through physio just to make it tolerable. Honestly, intimacy after baby is not the same and probably won't be for me.
Coolbabymama not the case for me it took me 3 months to just heal from surgery. Definitely took longer.
I had unmedicated vaginal delivery with surgery after and I did it (uncomfortably but still good) at around 6 weeks
Omgosh varginal birth then you start having sex is Soo painful my hubby literally had to like really be patient with me and 5 months after baby we tried goodness itwas so painful I screamed so loud and so hard it freaked him out we had to stop and tried a couple of months later but the situation freaked him out he literally had to cover my mouth during sex for like a year the funny thing is that he found me being very sexy and attractive after baby
I think this is a really valuable thing that needs to be discussed too! what other things other than physio did you do to get ready for this?

Twin mama her, I had big twins so C-section was the safest route for delivery, they are 8 months and the tiredness has gotten substantially better but it’s hard with two! Sex still hurt at 10 weeks-6 months after delivery!! But most days I crawl into bed dying for some zzzz’s, so yes sex life after babies changes but it’s ok because our lives are forever changed and we love it!!!
I had an episiotomy and after 4 weeks I had my check up with my OB/GYN and she said that I was healed enough to have sex.😫 Now my stupid self who obviously wasn’t ready and still in pain, told my husband what my doctor said. 🙄We tried to have sex that day and let me tell you, when I say that was painful, I mean THAT WAS PAINFUL. 😵I think I just kept feeling pressure to please my husband, but it took multiple times and months to stop hurting or feeling uncomfortable. If I could turn back time, I would of let myself heal and not feel pressured to have sex again. I mean not only did a HUMAN BEING come out of my vagina, I was sliced and stitched from the top of my vagina to my butthole! What was I thinking?!?! I mean my boobs still hadn’t even regulated from breastfeeding and were spraying everywhere! 😂😂 All new mothers please give yourself time! Don’t ever feel like you have to have sex to keep your partner satisfied, take care of yourself first!
After 6 weeks I definitely was still very sore and the scars were still softening. 3-4 months pp things felt more normal again.
Finally a video that explain exactly how I feel, I'm having the same experience as Sharzad, 6 month postpartum and yes love your comment about feeling virgin again even after having a C-section! I'm glad to have the best hubby who understand the pain too.

My issue was my breast/nipples were a major part of sex for me and after labor and with breastfeeding I didn’t want my breast touched at all. It was disturbing having him attempt to stimulate me via my breast. And like you said I felt like my body wasn’t mine and I didn’t feel sexy in the slightest bit, so sex was just awkward to initiate or even participate in
I didn't wait 6 weeks. I had to convince my husband because he was afraid of hurting me. I was getting sexually frustrated and wanted to feel his affection - it hurt a little but with some coconut oil it was definitely worth it for us. Everyone is different and every relationship is different. This is something that each couple has to negotiate and sometimes a little extra lube or oil or different positioning can help.

I’m not sure what it is but I have no kids but these videos are my fav. And sometimes these videos help me go to sleep which may not sound like a good thing but I don’t sleep. vaginal birth, episiotomy & even some tearing (big baby).. we started trying to get intimate again about 5 months after but I think it was about 10 months post birth when I started to really enjoy it again..
Actually, on my 6th week appointment, my OB did a PAP Smear, it hurt SO BAD!!! I also had a CS! I thought it was even waaayyyy painful than the delivery itself!!

Thanks for sharing your experiences. My boy in 7 days old and we can’t wait to hit the road again. I liked the utility boobs part a lot since I was freaking out is bit when my wife’s boobs were changing during the last trimester. But now when I think of it as the food source which will make my son the strongest; makes the boobs sexier than ever. I think I am already starting to become a new person.
I dont understand why sex is made as such a stigma as if "omg!!! U haven't done it for so n so time"?!?!!! Like who cares!!??? Marriage is a lot more than sex. If a husband and wife are taking their time to enjoy the baby life a to so be it. If the wife just wants to rest and chill at the end of each night or watch a movie together or just talk in bed ..thats intimate!!!

I have had 2 c sections and I just delivered a baby 9 months ago vaginally being my 3rd. So in my experience after a c section it does hurt down in the vagina because trauma happened deep inside but the main pain is the c section incision and some how feels tight. Vaginally burns and hurts and specially if you had stitches some doctors stitch a bit more and that can be a problem. But honestly vaginally delivery or thru c section they both hurt to have sex after delivering a baby. Plus when you have a baby vaginally you feel a bit loose and think you might be loose but as I know hubby said nope no difference even though we woman do feel a difference at first so do your vagina exercises.
But does your vagina feel normal for yourself?

I really believe the trauma or stitches can have a big impact on intimacy
I was one of them mums that gave birth twice at the age of 24 after a spontaneous brilliant natrul birth so for myself there was no trauma, did feel like a virgin the first many times
Coconut oil and allowing airflow was a good one
My 1st daughter passed away at 8 weeks and that morning I stopped my pill n talking comforting and opening up to each other definitely was 1 point that allowed us to be closer n comforting to each other
I think we tried 3-4 months after my vaginal delivery and it hurt so bad. Best way I could describe it to my husband was it felt like someone rubbing off a scab with raw skin underneath. It felt that way for awhile and no amount of lube helped. It still feels tender after 6 months but it’s only uncomfortable for a minute. Healing of all kind takes time. Go at your own pace and do what feels right. Even if it means stopping and waiting.

jamal khan for me 6 weeks wasn’t long enough. Pretty sure I could still go without if I wasn’t worried about my husband. The baby requires so much of my time and attention by the time it gets to that point I’m too tired to care or want to be touched.
I feel like a unicorn because sex was excruciatingly painful for me during my first pregnancy. After I gave birth and was 6 weeks postpartum I was ready to go lol. My husband had sex at exactly 6 weeks PP and it was great. Our sex life is the best it’s ever been.
Currently pregnant and yes doing it while pregnant has been uncomfortable and even painful.

We did not wait too long. Of course, 6 weeks and somewhat longer, but less than 2 months both times. First time I was so numb down there, I did not feel anything, but after a couple of times everything was back to normal. I don't remember how was it after the second baby. Both times vaginal birth, episiotomy the first time and second time I tore a bit so I had stitches both times. I'd like more topics about baby blues, I had major baby blues both times.
I had discomfort for about 8 to 9 months postpartum. I could relate so much when she said "am I a virgin again"? Haha but it was intense discomfort for me since after the first 8 weeks when we tried for the first time again. I went to physical therapy and that helped tremendously but still had discomfort from time to time. Ever since then everything is back to normal thing feel normal again.
My boyfriend and i were so attracted to one another after baby, I think seeing each other as parents just did it for us so we both couldn’t wait! I had an episiotomy so the first time we took it slow and that was 3 weeks out and my stitches had been dissolved for a week already. But our sex life is better than ever! I was afraid it would die because I feel like that’s when I mostly heard when I was pregnant. But we are good !
That is so nice to hear I have had a episiotomy and a 3rd degree tear and I am scared of how our sex life will be !

Among the vaginal delivery experiences it also depends if u torn or if u had hemorroids. I particularly had a vaginal delivery with an 7 stitches episiotomy and gigantix hemorroids. After 5 months of it i was terribly scared. Now i gave birth my second vaginally too, with an episiotomy of 12 stitches and hemorroids again. girl i’m not rushing. The idea of intimacy doesn’t even cross my mind now after 5 months.

I had natural delivery to my first daughter and it was ok after 6weeks . But my second delivery for my son , I had same natural delivery too and it hurts and burn more than 10weeks .
We waited exactly 6weeks and it was extremely painful (I had a grade 3 tear) and it still hurts several times later. 🤷♀️ but they keep saying it goes back to normal so I’m waiting on that

Jennifer Campos don't be scared I had vaccum suction n my vagina tore n I had quite a few stitches but v had sex after 8 weeks n it was Lil wierd but den got used to it n felt lot better. Congratulations on ur pregnancy 😊

I’m 4 months Postpartum and I haven’t had sex since the night we conceived! I feel ready to have sex again. I actually feel more confident in my body now than I did before my baby. But I had a bad tear when I gave birth vaginally so I’m scared it’s going to hurt. And I really don’t want to fall pregnant again for a loooooong time.

I had a c-section March 16th and I think we first had sex right after the 6 week mark. It made me feel good that my husband was still attracted to me after what my body went through, cause I felt gross (still do), but I was really nervous. And the first time was very painful. I also felt like I was a virgin again! Lol
It still hurts every time but a little less, and it’s comforting to know that it does get better!
The burning was 1000 percent a reality for me as well and after my 3 rd csection now I am 9 months pregnant with my 4th and haven’t had sex since around 4-5 months pregnant so I’m super nervous about it this time around after baby but I was pregnant 4 months after my last so I feel completely fine with waiting to do the deed much longer.....

I remember we had sex after my 6 week check up and was cleared by my OB. But I had a different situation than most moms, our first was born at 26 weeks and spent 3 months in the nicu. So I was exhausted from spending all day at the nicu and pumping constatantly for the baby, but we both needed to have sex because the nicu turns your life upside down and you literally don't know if the baby will come home. After our second it was after 6 weeks too but that was partly because I was on bedrest and could not have sex due to preterm labor, so we were both really wanting it!
What about pressure from your husband to have sex? I had a C-section and im just reaching the 6 week mark. The burning that she described is so REAL and the virgan feeling is definitely there as well. Although my husband is super supportive and loving, he would never hurt me or cause me discomfort, in conversation about sex, he tends to want to down play my intense pain with a simple solution. This leads to me gaslighting myself and feeling that pressure that i need be ready faster. Any advice for a mom who may need more time ???

Am 36 weeks pregnant and for all my pregnancy i have regular sex like 3/4 Times per week and my baby is healthy and ready for come out.. is really a personal things decide to have or not sex during the pregnancy and it depends how well all is going
Steffaniee15 actually it will help your baby come out easily i think bc ive been there done that and baby is protected w amniotic fluid so it wont affect the baby if ur partner come inside
sex in pregnancy is little bit risky for baby & sometimes happens abortion. So should be careful
Sherzade same experience, it's because of lack of estrogen, which is mainly due to breast feeding in extreme cases called vaginal atrophy

I have had my first c section and I don't know how to even start by having sex and when I should at all honestly but, I definitely want to.

Don't remember exactly how long we waited but for me it was at around 6 months, after baby moved into her own room. I only really felt comfortable in my own skin after I stopped breastfeeding at the one year PP mark. While I was breastfeeding I just didn't feel up to it. Our daughter was a terrible sleeper which didn't help.
Every woman is different bc I never felt sexier during and after pregnancy nor did my drive drop. I haven’t gotten back on the horse as I just made 6 weeks, but I am ready to go physically and emotionally. Mentally though I do share a small fear that my vagina will never be the same after my vaginal birth. Willl seeeeee hehe 😜

I could barely keep my boyfriend off me lol 6.5 weeks was all we waited after first child. Second baby comes in 9 minus weeks. Deff waiting longer this time.

I just had my baby Feb 19 and I started having sex march 16 it flet good I was scared becuase they stiched me up and.... I wasnt bleeding... I felt ready it was not a bad experience I was freaking out but my husband was really gentle and everything donw there was good I didn't bleed afterwards neither 🙂
And yes they say wait 6 weeks to have sex but I flet ready and my hormones where crazy for my husband 😂 it isn't bad if you feel good try it and if you try it and feel bad then wait till your 6 weeks or more it's when ever your ready especially for us who had a baby and got stiches donw there 😂🙂

Omg I didn't have one but I could only imagine.... I was scared cause I had a csection and sometimes it still hurts even if I move too quickly or stretch and my baby is 5 months old
I also had an episiotomy and had to wait A LOT longer than 6 weeks for it to heal completely. We waited about 5-6 months after, an it was so scary. I didn’t even use tampons again until about a year after birth. You just have to wait until you feel comfortable with your body.

I delivered vaginally & had a 3rd degree tear. So I had a lot of stitches down there! I was really scared to have sex again and my body was tense. Lube helps!! Haha but yeah you definitely need to be in the mood because if not it will hurt. I waited 3 months postpartum.

aidinlove1 oh wow! Glad to know I’m not alone :) yeah it can feel scary to try! Especially with the tear it takes a while to recover! I waited until I had my 6week pp check up and for the doctor to tell me how I look down there lol once she gave me the thumbs up I decided to try. It helped that my husband was supportive and went really slow and tried to make me feel sexy. But yes definitely lube! That stopped it from burning! Good luck 😉

Don’t think this is something anyone should be answering unless your the woman’s obgyn and know that’s women’s specific case. Not waiting the appropriate time can introduce infection to a woman and or complications. Which is why labor mortality is still recorded even a year after the labor. I don’t think your in any position to give this type of advice. This is advice that should solely come from your obgyn who knows your case.

I too am curious about that. I think it'd be better to use protection like birth control pill but even then, I read that we had to wait 3 weeks after giving birth before taking the pill.

It is normal up to 9moths...if it goes past 9months then you can seek medical care
