The most misunderstood person in the history of Indian cricket. His selfless contribution towards the Indian cricket as a player , as a captain and even as an administrator is unparallel. Only very few can achieve what he has achieved in his life. Today we are speaking about-Virat ,dhoni ,yuvraj,Sehwag,bhajji,zaheer,nehra,Kaif and hell lots more player, he was the one who fought for these guys to the extreme point where he was represented as a villain sometimes, god knows how many match fees was deducted from his salary throught his career just for the sake of the country , a fierce fighter with a huge ego and always have a point to prove, he is the perfect example of a never say die attitude , he was the majestic king of Indian cricket and always will be and his name will always be remembered in the cricket history. The modern generation fans of Virat and others can think negative about him, but what he has done for this country from the days of match fixing till the day he left his cricketing career can be written in an epic series of diff emotions and genres drama,thriller,mystery,tragic,triumph . I consider him as the flagship course of mental toughness and unending zeal to prove ones worth. Salute and respect to you ! Empathy for those who dont recognize ur contributions.

Best part was the drama he enacted to settle scores with shastri and kolhi!!! you can be his fan all your life but i cannot appreciate what he did to the national team to satisfy his inflated ego. my sincere empathy for those who think this saas bahu drama type was the best. More than technical aspects, I feel that this team didn't feel like the team for players themselves. First there should be a common plan of action that seems to be missing, secondly the team management changes the players so many times that the new ones aren't able to adjust at the last minute, thirdly half of our players who could have been game changers were injured so no injury management.
I still feel that it's 40% our players fault, but 60% BCCI and management fault the way they treated this WTC cycle.
They let Travis head to score against them it feels like Steve Smith was on the crease the team which let Travis head score runs don't expect they will win

They were hard workers but everyone works hard at that level.

Even if India had to play the playing XI according to the conditions, Ashwin can bowl on a green top and take wickets. He was definitely going to be more effective in the 2nd innings. Add to that, his batting abilities would have provided a few extra runs in the both innings. Playing Ashwin instead of Umesh would have played impact in the outcome of the final... Missed opportunity!!

We haven't lost knockout matches just because of fear of failure, we have to accept that the skills have declined, we don't have a right arm off spinner of Ash quality coming up the ranks, no 145+ bowlers who can hit consistent line and lengths, no top order batters in tests and middle order batters in white ball cricket, cricket is changing very quickly and we are still lagging behind and not even realizing that.

In the 2nd innings, Rohit, Pujara, Virat and Rahane all played bad shots and it could be said that it is difficult to say which shot was the worst but looking at the strength of all these batsmen, Rohit played a shot which he executes 9 out of 10 times but situation was not right, Pujara played a horrible shot and Rahane just got overconfident but it was Virat's shot which angered us the most as it is always a risky shot and he lost patience and again succumbed to his weakness.
And kohli has been getting out knicking outside off for a very long time. Even in the 36 all out innings he had chased a wide delivery when the team was in trouble.

True. But, he left captaincy on his own. Later in one of the matches, when Rohit was injured and KL was also unavailable, he refused to captain for this single match. I mean what sort of anger is this that you don't stand up for your country when needed regardless of what you think about your bosses off the field! It's good he is not the captain. He had so much ego filled in! And his bizarre logic of how and why they took him out from ODI's. Common sense- When both Rohit and Virat play ODI and T20, how can Rohit be captain in one format with Virat as player under him and Virat suddenly becomes his boss in ODI and Rohit has to listen to him. Think about the support staff and coaches! How many people will Rahul manage across formats? And people talking about Women's cricket team having different captains in white ball. Mithali Raj was not playing T20. So it became easier for them to deal with this !! Dada was unnecessarily targeted during this captaincy fiasco. We want aggressive coach who can give free hands to all players to play their game naturally like shastri. Atleast games will be much closer, even if we lose. Dravid is legend as a player, and he is good coach for younger team. Pls make him under 19 coach. Why not to bring back shastri? Kohli will not come up as a captain now so leave that topic. Shubhman gill, Pant (once fit), siraj are other options as a future captains. Aggression must be there.

I think one way for India to get used to big occasions is to bring back and play some tri-series. There were many tri-series in the 90s and the 2000s, India used to reach the finals and they lost many of them but they also won a few in between which should have had an impact on their ability to play on the big day like a World Championship knockout game!!!

Teams like Australia and England are very shrewd with their scheduling of bilaterals. Eng played a T20 series in Aus just before the T20 WC last year!! And they toured India in March 2021 and played 5 match T20 series before the 2021 WC that was originally scheduled in India!!
