Yes! I saw a demonstration from a k18 rep and you are definitely supposed to rub the product in the palms of your hands until it turns white, then apply. It is actually supposed to “activate” it
Another cool hack I love doing is what we call the “K18 double dose” on those with a little more damage
First you clarify shampoo the hair thoroughly, and towel dry really well
Then apply K18 mist to the most damaged areas (being sure not to over apply the mist) and apply k18 mask right over top and wait 4 min before applying leave in conditioners/styling products
(Another pro tip is when applying k18 mask, I find it works best when activating it in your hands until your hands turn white that way you can see where you’re applying and how much product is left in your hands. :)
I would definitely recommend showing your stylist this product! She will be blown away.
I also find k18 works so much better when using it during chemical services!

I heard that the mist is to be used to saturate the hair. That too much is better, unlike the mask for which one less is more.
I burned the heck out of my hair last year and this saved even more of my hair from falling off. It went from spaghetti noodles to silk almost immediately. I'm skeptical so I was shocked it worked so well!
I use Olaplex too but there's no comparison with what k18 does for my hair. I think the ppl who tried it & feel it didn't do much probably didn't have damaged hair in the first place.
I just discovered K18 recently and have been using it in a way that I find more suited to my OCD self 😂 I use it just like how I use the Olaplex as a standalone treatment. Always on clean damp hair, saturate as much as possible from roots to ends (yes, it's pricey), then put on a shower cap. Leave it on overnight, the next day after 12 hours take off the shower cap, let the hair dry with the product and then wash it. Then after letting the towel wick out the water from the hair for 15 to 30 minutes, apply the K18 as a leave in mask (3-4 pumps for my chin length bob). Believe me, this way you know the product is working for sure.

What a great hack!! Thank you so much for sharing beautiful!! What I do is I use the Ola Plex three after 10 minutes I put my purple shampoo leave that on for 10 minutes and then I shampoo and then put the K 18. I’m definitely gonna get a hold of that spray and try it that way. Your hair looks absolutely gorgeous!! 😘
just found out I've been doing it all wrong with #3 they said wash your hair 1st and use #3 mix it with the purple shampoo and let it sit on your hair for 5 minutes or so and rinse it out and shampoo again and rinse and use k18 leave in and comb though very gently in small sections I have very fine hair so the tangle teaser combs it nicely love it 😀 👍

The spray is a pre-service because it swells the cortex and raises the ph. The mask lowers the PH to seal the cuticle. Please be careful with the spray. It is working so well with color services and purple shampoo because ur cuticle is up.
Which can get "grabby" too, depending on porosity.

Oh my goodness!!! What a great hack! Thank you!!! I was also told by K18 that after applying the mask, wait for 4 minutes, apply a rinse out conditioner or mask (such as Olaplex 5 or 8), leave on for 10-15 minutes and THEN rinse all of it out, adding styling products and styling hair...

I used the K18 shampoo (the maintenance one) then I towel dried my hair and applied k18 mist, 4 minutes later I applied k18 mask, another 4 minutes later I applied Olaplex n6 on my ends and I started to blow out my hair 😍 my hair felt surely fuller (I already have medium textured hair) even if, as you noticed as well, my ends were a little bit dry. I solved the issue with some oil (an Italian oil, I don’t think you can find elsewhere) ☺️
I always use a leave-in conditioner spray after the 4 minutes that K-18 needs to sit, this adds the needed moisture. The only problem is the detangling.
Not sure about the sustainability of the damage repair by K-18, though.
The results came out so nice! Not sure if you’re aware of this yet or have already been recommended this, but you can still use a hair mask after the K18 treatment for extra hydration. Shampoo, do k18 for 4 mins, apply a hair mask and then rinse. K18 has 2 shampoos now, if you ever want to check them out.

Hi, Can I ask if I can use K18 mist first then shampoo my hair with Olaplex and then use K18 mask because my hair is really damaged although my hair has not been chemically processed. I have have both the mist and the mask and wish to use it together somehow.

Love your videos! Just ordered this product hoping my damaged bleached hair will look as beautiful as your hair. I already have the K18 mask and i love it for my fringe. I have to style it with hot tools like every day. It was sooo crispy before I used K18. But it dries my hair out so I use the blue Oribe mask, it's awesome.

@@heidiguttenberg no I don’t rinse before the Oribe mask. I wait 4-10mins after I applied the K18 mask, then I apply the Oribe mask over it and rinse the mask out after 30mins or a couple of hours 🥰

LOVE this!! I haven't thought about using the mist prior to purple shampoo! I've tried every combination of products to use after the k18 mask because my hair is super similar to yours. I love the mask for its healing abilities, but I also love the slip and smoothness that a great conditioner gives. So far, my favorite product to use post K18 is the Joico K-PAK Color Therapy Luster Lock Multi-Perfector Daily Shine & Protect Spray (its a biphase spray that you shake to mix before using). Using that after the k18 makes my hair feel just as soft and silky and smooth as using a great conditioning hair mask. If you try it, let me know what you think!

I was wondering what this mist was all about, as I assumed it was only for when doing chemical treatments rather than using it at home as part of your normal haircare. It's so expensive, I have very short bob hair so it will last pretty long for me, I like the mask so I think I will get this mist. hey! so I've actually done the professional training course for K18 and what they recommend if you're still experiencing dryness after the treatment is to use a leave in conditioner or hair oil afterwards. the treatment itself doesn't contain conditioning agents because they actually just coat the cuticle of the hair which prevents the peptide from penetrating the hair and actually giving you those incredible results. so instead of using rinse out conditioners use a leave in after the 4 minutes to help seal the treatment in and give you the hydration your hair needs

I was wondering the same thing. And plan to test this out soon! I don’t see why not. You need to follow with the mask once the highlights are finished.

hi is this how much k18 you normally use? this is an incredibly huge amount of product to use, they don't mean one pump per section they mean you start with one pump for your wholeeeeee head

Hi girl! I discovered the brand last week. Can you use the mist before washing hair? I wash my hair every 4 days. I notice my hair is getting frizzy due to cold and using hypoallergenic shampoos. I avoid perfums due to itchiness of the scalp otherwise. Can you use it once every 4 days before shampooing? Or first shampoo, no conditioner, lett dry and then mist - rince - conditioner ?
You need clean hair so the mist can penetrate the cortex so it has to be free of product or it won’t work. Wait 4 minutes
Shampoo no conditioner mist and lastly after 4 minutes conditioner
They have a K18 chelating shampoo to use before the K18 treatment now
So get the Revlon blow dryer brush I can tell you as a professional. I use it at home and frankly it looks better than when I got my hair done in a salon and I would definitely use it on my clients if I didn’t feel a bit weird about doing that but I recommend it to everyone of my clients to get, it will cut your blow dry time in half. I have a ton of thick long hair and can get a beautiful effortless blow out in 20 minutes.

I would say, to keep the results you need to use it every week or biweekly. Depending on how often you wash your hair.
Great video! I have a request, when you have time can you do a video about highlights? I've searched UA-cam and can't find a sit down conversational video about having and caring for highlights. What kind of damage to expect, how to work with that hair to make it look as beautiful as yours, products you would reccomend etc. I would be forever grateful, I want to learn more about highlights from someone who's had them a long time. ❤️

I have a further tip for you… if you use clever curl cleanser in shower you can wet brush tangles in shower without conditioner .. also if you rub the K18 in your palms till it gets really warm and creamy it will be more moisturising and you will lose less .. thanks for vid

Hate to write this but you used it wrong. You don‘t wash/rinse the K18 mist out before applying the K18 mask. And after applying the K18 mask you wait the 4minutes and then brush it. And using some really moisturizing leave in is a must. Makes the results even better.
She used it right she sprayed the mist to protect and repair her using purple shampoo thats wash out toner which is a color process you have to wash the shampoo out so i dont see how she did it wrong

Like I wrote in a comment to save money and not buy two expensive products, wash the hair towel dry put K18 hair masque on wait 4mins then put the purple shampoo on. No need for the mist and the masque unless working in a salon or have the money to buy both.
I tried Both the K18 Mist and K18 Mask together and separately and I have to confess I was somewhat underwhelmed by the product. The performance was O.K. but I have used more effective products for far less money. The Mist DOES give the hair a nice “Body Boost” and leaves it a little Firmer feeling.
What other products have you used?

There are a lot of content providers and they are all pretty darn good at what they do. For now, I will contribute wherever I can but I may start a channel sometime next year keep on the look out and thank you for your interest and kind words.
I find that olaplex no. 1 has a negative effect when used with a lightener. My hairdresser added Olaplex to the bowl and the lift came out not as clean as what we used to achieve without olaplex.

It’s a professional product only.
Please so not use the K18 mist at home. Its at a higher ph so it doesnt mess with the ph of color or bleach that goes over top of it because color/bleach is on the alkaline side. Only the mask is meant for home use. This is why you cant buy it with out a license.

Your using way too much mask ,on your hair length and thickness I would recommend 3 pumps at the very most.

Your last video was protein overload. Be careful. It's easily fixable with moisture but it can happen. Your hairs ok I would hardly say it's damaged from protein overload as long as you are moisturizing it to even it out. K 18 you need to rub it into your hands before applying. It's very dense.
I don’t think you used the mask correct. You’re only supposed to use 1-2 pumps on your entire head. Not per section. Also, you can wash the mask out after the 4 min or air dry.
You don't apply the mask the right way. You have to activate the pump that you take out in your hands and it spreads much more and turns white in your hands. You use a lot of product!

The ultimate repair hack recipe
On dry hair
Olaplex 0 to dampen the hair all over use the spray lid
Follow with k18 mist in all the same sections
Wait 5 minutes
Apply on top
K18 mask to each section
Wait 4 minutes
Apply on top olaplex 8 mask
Cover wrap moist Hest for 10 minutes
Rinse with warm water completely
Heat protect style as usual

You shouldn’t apply k18 mask straight to your hair. You put it in your hand and emulsify first.
It says in the instructions to towel dry hair thoroughly, so I’m not sure about emulsifying. But we can always try. Thanks!

NO! You are applying the mask incorrectly. You are suppose to emulsify it in your hands first, it will coat you hands and make them white, then you apply it to your hair. In this way, you will use less product, your hands will heat it up and it's easier to coat your hair. Some have even said to sort of blot it onto your hair from the bottom up. You should join the k18 group on facebook, they have great tips. I even think they said not to comb it in. I sometimes put in a deep cond. mask after putting the K18 mask and waiting 4 minutes, then rinse. My hair is incredibly soft and healthier.

Do you think I should use a detox shampoo every time I use the K18 treatment. Because I believe using detox shampoo, especially on the first 6 washes will remove all the treatment, don’t you think so ?
