There was a click of musicians back in the 70's, hung out in the loft of the Rainbow Bar & Grill in Hollywood. This is kind of where "Shock Rock" theater was born. They consisted of, Alice Cooper, Frank Zappa, Flo & Eddie (Mark & Howard), Keith Moon, Tonio K. and a bass player Erik Scott, who preformed and recorded with all of them. They engraved their names on a wooden plague, which I believe still exists at the Rainbow. These guys, all, put on great shows with visuals on stage. Thanks to all of you!
The Vampires. But it was primarily a drinking club, and Zappa certainly did not participate. He was a teetotaler. It was Cooper, Moon, Dolenz, Nilsson and Ringo Starr. Moon and Nilsson succumbed to alcoholism, the others successfully recovered.
And more importantly, it's the main theme from "Down & Dirty Duck" (originally titled "Cheap" until Roger Corman decided he didn't like the idea of producing a film called "Roger Corman's Cheap". Aw, Rog!)
OMG..I am a big fan of Howard, and I like him with the turtles. this is the first time I ever seen Flo and Eddie, I'm not used to seeing Howard with long hair and a beard. I'm glad he seems happy here
Oh, they had fantastic live shows! I got to see them a bunch of times around NY. They continued to do excellent shows as The Turtles until a few years ago when Howard's back went south. Mark carries on with Ron Dante, but it's just not the same.
WickedTornado - I saw them in 73 with Tucky Buzzard and Uriah Heep in North Carolina. Maybe the same tour that you saw. And Flo DESTROYED the drums - he was FANTASTIC.
@chicoblackstar the name of the song is ''cheap'' its from the album '' illegal, immoral, and fattening''.. its a live album ...some pretty funny stuff on there
I wonder what show this was from. The canned audience is really bad. Why did they used to do that? I don't see how they could have thought it was a good idea.
i have been a fan since i first heard them back in the 70's
It's nice to see these guys are still having fun!

would love to see Keith Moon playing with any of them.
Zappa never hung out with the Hollywood Vampires.
@@greifinn24 Mark & Howard did the vocals on Moon's solo album. Well, ok......Keith did TRY to sing, too.

Got to love these guys!!!
For those wondering, the song is called "Cheap" and it's from the album "Illegal, Immoral & Fattening."

Spinning wheel...2nd song
0:38 Mike Stern + Flo & Eddie? Ok, that's freaky ... I didn't think Howard went grey in the 70's, but I guess he did ...
Howard went gray in the 60s

Sounds like the laughtrack used for Krofft productions. Sid & Marty & Flo & Eddie seem like a natural combination.
