For what? It's legal to do this with coins. it's a few cents worth of nickel and a few cents worth of copper. besides that, jewelers have been making mokume gane this way for years to make jewelry. Personally I use nickels because there's a higher nickel content than there is in quarters.

These guys comment like you lost money. The video didnt do the effect justice. Blade collectors pay premiums for unique blades I made a beautiful Tsuba for a Tanto. Using this very method. A good cleaning with Degreaser really helps with the forge weld. I used some foreign coins and got some gorgeous color variations. It reminded me of a drop of oil on asphalt in the rain.

Try tht again and forge it to a bar, twist, then cut it down the middle. Makes a great bracelet or ring. U can also drill a hole in the edge of each quarter and use a copper rivet to hold ‘em together and grind it later, makes workin with tongs easier cause the coins don’t shift
