Newbie here. Thanks for the video on something that is obvious to everyone other than newbies. After an hour plus of not finding anything on this problem, I found your video. Thanks!
I have the 4030XL V2 and have the same issue. Glad I came across your video. These are good machines, but the documentation and "how to" support is lacking. Especially for us rookies.
to save your spoil board, sandwich another piece of wood in between with tape/glue. this gives you clearance to cut into the entire intended piece. 6mm mdf is is cheap and can be used over and over until it falls apart. if you decided to upgrade your bed to railed (highly advised) - this technique is a MUST also, the offline controllers are worth their weight in gold. it's so much easier to jog the machine with a touchscreen than you pc/laptop - you most definitely won't regret buying one
The spindle mount is shipped in that position to reduce the over all length in when in the packaging. Every user has a different use for the machine, so it's down to them to decide what height they need to motor mount positioned. Some of us, on occasion may even take the bed out, drop the motor right down and engrave the surface below the CNC. This is really not a design fault, it's just operator error.
how many items did you throw something across the room in frustration while trying to figure the z axis zeroing out. I had to go and buy a new tv remote because of this
Hello. I am thinking about buying this machine and i was wondering if you know or if you tried, what is the thickest piece of wood you can cut with a straight router bit. I hope you can give me some light about the matter. Thank you! (Ps. I want to cut wood about 50 to 60 millimeters, and what kind of bit should I use!) :) Hope to hear your opinion!
You have to add a spoilboard, then the material that you want to cut on top the spoilboard. Check this video out: ua-cam.com/video/T5fNRlfWi44/v-deo.html

@11:13 - just keep in mind, it will only keep it from hitting with a bit inserted at that same depth. Very helpful hints for people starting out.
Thanks for posting this video. I just got mine and I'm a newbie also. This video helped me.
Thank you DJ, newbie here. I just put my 6060 put together, having some of the same problems. Your video helped.
Nothing like a Hands-On, to get me started.
Thank you so much for doing this video! ❤

Thanks dude. Mines still in the box but I’m sure this will come in handy when I finally get around to setting it up.
