I like that you have the visual comparison between the ANBERNIC RG35XXSP, the Miyoo Mini Flip and the PowKiddy V90! I actually like the design of the V90 the best, especially with it having 2 speakers.
I really have enjoyed my v90, even with its shortcomings. The RG35XXSP had too many issues for the price to be the upgrade I was looking for, especially since I knew this was coming. Looking forward to seeing if it is worth it!
I have a used yellow V90 I got cheap off ebay about 3 years ago. I carried it without a case, it is still fine and *no* hinge problems. Smaller & thinner than a GBA SP too.
miyoo flip is by far the best from all these 3, has twin joysticks, compact, can run up to some saturn and dreamcast and psp. I am looking forward to the miyoo flip now
Awesome video, thanks for the insightful commentary on miyoo’s new product. I am also hoping they add just a wee bit more ram on this device by the final product.
Unfortunately, the build quality and design doesn’t seem to compare to the Anbernic. The joysticks are a welcome addition, but the center hinge, overly rounded corners, larger chin and forehead bezel relative to the left/right bezels ultimately looks unbalanced and renders this more of an “inspired by” approach to the SP, than a faithful adaption of it. I don’t own the Anbernic, but was rooting for the Miyoo. Will wait for a revision.
Does this have driftless sticks? Even if they aren't hall, as long as they aren't the potentiometers we have nowadays I'll take it; looking for something to replace the Retroid Pocket 2S from a value for price perspective, since that's been discontinued now.
Interesting. The anbernic SP is really nice for me except I really like playing a lot of N64 games and I miss having the controls available-so interested in this one.
I love this trend of making the reset button difficult to press, I have lost so much progress in games due to that blasted button on many handhelds I own. Hinge seems a bit too stiff, hope they choose a looser mechanism for retail units. Would hate to have another broken hinge in a month like my RG35XXSP.
As the 5000th subscriber: This thing looks awesome. I am considering to get a Miyoo Flip or the RG-35XX SP And ngl, I kinda like the RG-35XX SP more.. I don't need it for PSP, n64? Maybe, but I would rarely do that. Should I wait? Considering this has sticks. I would use it when travelling or just to have some kart racers etc.
Ah beans, another handheld to get. I have the RG35XXSP and love it. I'll hold off for a sale. I was going to get another XXSP for some multiplayer but maybe this will suffice. I'm confused on how multiplayer is achieved on these handhelds. . .
That hinge doesn't look too bad, actually. Does it stay closed nice and flush? I know some aftermarket cases for the GBA SP were a bit loose/wiggly and didn't stay perfectly closed. Is it comfortable to hold and play? You mainly played with it on a table here (probably just easier to film that way). I would've liked to see a Contra and Street Fighter test to evaluate that dpad. Hopefully this thing gets ROCKNIX support since it uses the RK3566. I think it would be the first Miyoo device to get it. It looks like this has half the RAM as the Anbernic RG353M (which uses the same chip), so that's a little bit of a shame, especially as they bothered to include analog sticks for the higher end systems. The 640x480 screen is somewhat disappointing as well since Anbernic just released their RG34XX with a 3:2 720x480 screen which should be great for GBA. It would've been cool to see something like that in this, especially since Anbernic's own RG35XXSP just has the 640x480 screen as well, and this could've topped it there, showing the advantage of releasing later. I've never bought from Miyoo or really seriously considered them before, but seeing more devices use the RK3566 is quite exciting. I'd rather it get used in stuff than the H700.
Oooh very nice. I wonder if it runs Onion OS, like Miyoo Mini and Miyoo Mini+? Like, can I just move the SD card with Onion OS and a bunch of roms and savestates from my MM+ and put it in Miyoo Mini Flip?
The processor is drastically different so you likely won't be able to move the OS sd card, however if/when the onion devs port onion to this device, you will probably be able to use the 2nd sd card with roms and savestates - they will probably share folder config.
Miyoo A30 Plus with 3.5 to 4 inch 4:3 screen + Sega-style D-pad + large frontal stereo speakers (maybe left speaker instead of stick or PSP-style speakers) please!
@@willmind4296 The Miyoo A30 is a hot mess. If it was recommended, you were lied to. I have one and the stock firmware couldn't run Gameboy, or NES without frame skipping like crazy. Playing Pokemon you teleport while riding the bike because of the missing frames the emulator skips. Frame skip is set to off Then after updating to Spruce 3.1.0 it performs better at PSP, N64. But not PS1. Gran Turismo 2 chugs hard, and skips. Gameboy frame skips even worse. Changing Retroarch settings, Spruce settings, etc, nothing works to correct the issues. Maybe a different custom firmware like GmenuNX could remedy these faults.
I like most Miyoo products but the Flip doesn't really impress me. Don't like the color scheme on this one and those sticks don't look like they would be very comfortable to use where they're placed.
@@Jaweatherford86 to my surprise, when I hold a GBA and put my thumbs where analogs would be, it’s more comfy to me than most candy bar horizontal style handhelds due to being able to utilize claw grip, and not having forced ergonomic curves in the back, and my hands are big.
