By the time they reach the end they've already played over 500 hours, which again I'd hope by that point they like playing the game.

Im going to assume for the casual player who is not buying any of these packs with real money (only going by halo credits), its "better" to buy the silver packs. At least itlooks that way. You wont get all the super rare things - at highest Ive gotten rare, mostly uncommon's, BUT you still get 2 permanent unlocks, same as the gold, and eventually.. youll run out of common/uncommon's to get, and will begin getting a few more rare's thrown in. Im only level 15 or so but thats the way it looks. Although I wish they just had a plain credits-to-item store as well.. I hate this "random" crap. Id much rather save up to buy something specific I want (scout armor, certain visors, weapon skins, etc).

The point of specialized variants is to have people stay back and defend. I have unlocked the long-range scope+laser for the BR, allowing me to snipe people from spire. My friends have unlocked the suppressors allowing them to not show up on radar, making them more valuable in infiltration. If you have the energy blade variant you can one shot melee people making them invaluable in defense/offense.

Most of the time you get armors buy finding skulls or from achievements. Hell remember the Katana Body piece?

I miss the days where you had to unlock everything in games, grind and work towards something you wanted, but these days people would rather have the easy way out and throw cash at these companies for quick and easy satisfaction. Besides, the "Free DLC" is mediocre, most of it only adds content that should've been there to begin with, such as forge and gametypes. Everything else in the DLC's are random REQs, weapon skins and remixes of maps that are already on the game (not to mention battle of noctus in warzone has been remixed 2 times now) so if you support the AIDS idea of microtransactions your a silly goose, don't follow what these youtubers are doing, keep your money and grind instead of buy.
Halo isn't pay to win because the weapons hardly give an advantage, the packs are easy to get even without paying, and you can only use special weapons in warzone

The point of specialized variants is to have people stay back and defend. I have unlocked the long-range scope+laser for the BR, allowing me to snipe people from spire. My friends have unlocked the suppressors allowing them to not show up on radar, making them more valuable in infiltration. If you have the energy blade variant you can one shot melee people making them invaluable in defense/offense.
You should start a patreon for buying REQ packs. 100 dollars a month means 1 100 pack video a month. 200 means 2, and so on. Just for REQ's. :P
