This is really interesting. The director is definitely a genius. On first impression, Ai may seem like a girl who was always happy and care-free, but, deep down, she had hatred towards everyone. I like how Ruby was able to express the real Ai's real emotions, the ones she had hid from everyone. So, it seems like Ai also did cry when she was alone. 😭
Kana was finally able to give the push Ruby needed for her acting, but instead just pushed off a cliff and broke her. Ruby and Kana finally were to fulfill their acting potential, but at a huge cost. The big risk in method acting is having the character you "become" consume you whole sadly. That means you literally become the character not only on the acting stage, but in real life. The character personality seeps into your every day life and it's difficult to shed it. Yes, Ruby will become the mirror image of AI, but she will become AI Hoshino when the cameras stop rolling. Ruby does not know how to separate her acting role and being Ruby Hoshino. It will be interesting what happens in two weeks.
Lmao pushed her off a cliff and broke her 🤣 Honestly a really good way to describe it tho. This is definitely showing us the flaws of method acting in an extreme manner. Honestly the ending just reminded me of the earlier scene when Ai told the director "Please film the real me" Maybe Ruby's actions are exactly like "the real Ai" not the Ai that everyone (including Aqua and the B Komachi members know
No. I think kanas real wrong with thinking ai lied about wanting to be like someone else even if ai is cuter. Ai was basically abandoned and homeless as a kid. She wanted to know what love was and how to love and to be important. As someone that grew up like that i cant see that as a lie. Of course she wanted someone elses life.
I believe it was Nino’s lines Kana was saying, but u make a great point. Perhaps she really did main it due the struggles she had gone through. Nino ofc wouldn’t understand and Ai is confused why Nino would want her life because of the struggles she has dealt with.
I remember in the dig deep arc, after discovering the death of goro (forgot how its spelled) Ruby became obsessed with gaining popularity for herself and began to use a lot of manipulative and underhanded tactics to get that. Doing so made her basically the center of attention with Memcho refusing to do UA-cam videos without Ruby for fear of getting flack. On top of that Ruby even wanted to get that one girl to join komachi B to gain more popularity of whom has similar features and aura to Kana which led to Kana having a scandal. She definitely didn't consider Kana's feelings on the matter and Kana most likely felt easily replacable and wanted to get a name for herself. Since its clear in many ways that Ruby parallels Ai and Kana parallels Nino, I wondered if Ai has ever done something similar to Nino or any other people in her life. Using manipulation and underhanded tactics to become more and more popular such as using people. In general, since only Ai and Ruby get popular it would be seen by coworkers as them using other people as stepping stone to get what they want. Although they may not realize the effects of their actions (whether justifiable or not) it still leads to or members/coworkers feeling inferior to them. No one likes the feeling of being used and seen as a mere stepping stone. If this is the case and Ai did use these methods, it would mean that she became consumed by how dirty the entertainment world could be and embraced it. Though, as the result of embracing this, you begin to isolate yourself and relationships become merely superficial and professional. Don't get me wrong, it is very much needed to be professional in these types of setting, but too much of it inevitably leads to depression and sadness. To be clear, I am not blaming Ai for using these methods to get more and more popular nor am I blaming for making Nino feel what she feels. It is more or less the result of how toxic the entertainment industry can be and the only way you can survive in this industry is be manipulative and a liar. I think one of the main themes of this manga is that it is extremely difficult to balance healthy relationship in a professional setting while actively trying to progress your career. Even if thats the case, no one likes to be around people that lie often especially if its extremely obvious that they're putting up a façade. What are yalls takes on this?
I created the theory in my head that oshi no ko is inspired by perfect BLUE where an idol was almost killed by a fan obsessed with her because she decided to become an actress and I saw the fact that kana would give up from being an idol to being an actress made me think about how any fan or person who didn't accept this could try to kill her
@Your_real_dad Well my foundation and literally my crazy mind I compared oshi no ko a little with perfect BLUE look for a video and good movie In the film, just like Kana, the protagonist stops being an idol, then a fan obsessed with her tries to kill her for a reason that I can't talk about because it's a serious spoiler for the film if you see someone talking about it the film and compare it with the events of oshi no ko you notice a similarity
@Your_real_dad Well your point is right on the other hand I hope my theory is wrong I don't want to see Kana dying (note: I hate it when Aqua uses her innocence and neediness because he is literally destroying her life just like he did with Akane who, come on, Akane was literally obsessed with him)
This series never fails to make me sad. Ruby has suffered more than anybody in this series. I hope aqua and Ruby have a happy ending by the end of the series. I hope they don’t die.
Another reality that oshi no ko has a well done showing is the actors/actress will be affected by their role because in the last chapter Kana's hatred seems genuine. Imagine if Kana reached the point where she's going to stabbed Ruby because she will be heavily influenced by Nino
Honestly what makes me sad is the fact that the one who truly knowing Ai is Ruby, not Aqua. Ruby thinks Ai as mother, she sees her as human. If course she will portrait her accurately. I think Aqua problem is the fact that he still thinks Ai as idol the most instead of just human, thinking Ai won't cry under pressure.
I think Aqua also does it as self-protection, because he doesn't want to admit that Ai also put on a mask in front of him and Ruby, and that the reason she didn't cry and smile while she died was mainly because he was in front of her watching her die...
This chapter showcased a very important detail that you guys must pay attention to. Number 1, The fact that our protoganist is not reliable at all. Aqua doesn't know a thing about Ai! Literally. If i look at Aqua as a character, he's only there for playing the role of a male character in this series. Everyone has had a different notion about Ai, different from how she appeared, but it's only him who keeps pressing on her "talent." Ai was talented, she was so talented that noone could figure out who shr really was. In the end, Aqua is just turning into what his dad probably was, an obsessed freak. He couldn't even fathom Ai being weak and himself said, "Ai didn't cry." Gotanda tries to see her true self, he is making this movie as a revenge. Even he knows there's more to Ai than the eye can see. Akane, if this girl this didn't exist, Hikaru would still be unknown. She was the one who suggested that Ai was secretely hiding her anger. And see? She's correct. Kana. Though she might not understand Ai very well, she damn as well knew how she felt regarding Nino. That's what I was surprised at. "See Ruby, that's how your mother felt." She understood the assignment. And finally, the most important, Ruby Hoshino. Ruby is the only one who ever loved Ai, though. In these series, I can see that she "is" true. She was always a true fan for Ai, and it's very true that she couldn't figure out who her mama really was, but with Ruby its like, "I'll love mama no matter what. Even with her real self." During the shooting she realised who her mother really was, a sad and vulnerable person. This made her sadder for her. She herself said, "Mama was feeling all kinds of things." This "mama, mama" is kinda repetetive, but it's what Ruby thinks of Ai as her mother. I think Ruby, who has been shown as an innocent and "left in the dark" sort of girl, with the entire spotlight only towards Aqua, Kana and Akane, needs to take the spot in the centre. Aka made me think so many things in this chapter. I was also Ai's fan, and never for once suspected this! Isnt that what this show really is about? Exposing the reality of showbiz? The fact that people are shocked, even her son, that their idol was only a human who hid her sadness is sad. Ai was just a vulnerable girl, but she had immense strength. When Ruby threw that plate, it was her true feelings. Ruby's life is very much like her mother. Maybe we didn't notice this because Ai's was kept in secret, but Ai and Ruby, they're similar. Ruby manifested Ai's emotions, no, she simply showed her true emotions when she threw that plate. But they were Ai's as well. Gotanda is great for trying to decipher her emotions. I think it's even sadder how she's still smiling while crying or saying "screw them". That's just who Ai has always been. Plus, a lesson that Kana needs to learn is that, don't assume for people too much.. "Naturally gifted" is such a lame blow to someone's hardwork. Ruby is better than you because she worked damn hard. She had a tough schedule, you yourself saw that right? It's just so depressing to see that that's all what she thinks regarding Ruby's acting skills.
And the one who triggered this, is none other than Nino. Who tells Ruby, when she tried to cheer her up, that she is nothing like her mother, that Ai would not say what Ruby said to her. In which snowballed into Ruby wondering, who Ai (her mom) really is?
@@trickthemisfit3256 it's important to show that Ai was just a normal human being. Honestly, Aka can make this manga a blockbuster if he writes it off nicely. This manga has the potential, Ai's character as an idol can break records. I myself as a reader feel the urge to call myself one of her fans, I just love her too much! And even I, just like the others never expected her to be anything other than what was shown. But look at it, that's what she is. She is humane. Nino did trigger Ruby, she literally called her a fake. For a newbie like Ruby, that was too much..then kana also said all that. That just broke her. And she manifested the emotions her mother felt. Kana as a character, served her purpose there. But I hope she remembers that she's nothing more than a jealous person here, you cannot excuse or justify your jealousy by saying that the other person is "naturally gifted", they literally worked hard to get there. Plus Ruby is the one who motivated kana to be an idol. This manga took a nice turn really, instead of flashbacks, we see Ruby showing a re-make of the entire thing. I think Ai and Ruby would've been unstoppable if she had stayed alive. Both mother and daughter bonded very well.
Insane Chapter 🔥🔥🔥🔥, Also wtf Ruby ayo 😲😲😲😲, she's showing Hikaru genes.I feel theres twist at the end like Ai and Hikaru is the same but different sides of the Coin, Ai endured the struggle whilst Hikaru fell from it, but then again, I doubt it since the Hikaru was the one who survived him her.
Happy new year and thank you for recapping chapter 136. In chapter 135 ruby had the black staringan so I knew that she was gonna break but ruby seems to be going to a dark path again hope she gets out of that path and kana and ruby reconcile. Also when you said that the thing ai/ruby was eating and then she threw it it did look like the blood when ai died but I don’t think ruby will go that far and kill kana well that’s what I think after all they are best friends or they were. Prob ruby is in an even dark place now.
Happy new year to you as well! Yeah Ruby getting the black staringan again was really a sign. I thought Aqua had pulled her off the dark path, but she’s falling back into it, perhaps even deeper than before. It would be crazy if Ruby attempted to kill Kana too, but it prolly won’t happen lol
This entire arc has so much Ruby angst. The fact that people hate her JUST BECAUSE OF THAT ONE CHAPTER makes me feel even more bad for her, she does not deserve any of this
Kana better watch out not to push Ruby too hard you know what happens when you push Ruby too hard she can end kana at any point if she wanted to before the reveal Ruby was using Khanna for her own benefits she can manipulate Kana if she wanted too
Dear God I hope not because I honestly hope that either Akane or Mem-cho ends up slapping some sense back into him because what's the point of revenge if everyone around you that you love ends up hating each other or you.😢
@@PabloHernandez-gl5ij ehh don’t worry they’ll be fine as we’ve seen throughout the story he’s already laid the foundation for everyone else should he disappear after his revenge. Also Hikaru deserves the punisher treatment 😈👍
@@cier5158 oh don't get me wrong their father hikaru definitely deserves a fate worse than death but at what price to Aqua's soul and Ruby's mental health. 😭
@@PabloHernandez-gl5ij ehh sometimes you gotta break a few eggs to make an omelette. Revenge wouldn’t be satisfying without sacrifices made for the sake of it. As for Ruby’s mental health, I’m certain that can be fixed Aqua wouldn’t let his sister break like that. Same thing with Kana, Akane and Mem-cho. 😑👍 Concerning Aqua’s soul tho…well, that remains to be seen.🤔
@@cier5158fair enough but at the same time I'm hoping that Akane, Kana Mem-cho and Ruby end up beating his ass as soon as Aqua gets his revenge on Hikaru because let's be honest he deserves it. 😏
When Aqua said that he never saw Ai cry it shocked me since he was there at her last moments and she was clearly crying and it's not like he doesn't remember her last moments since he remembers that she felt sorry because she couldn't film the documentary( i don't remember which chapter it was) but maybe he'll remember how she cried at her death? Maybe since he idolized her he wanted to only see the good image of her? Idk it's just a theory.
@@iswatergood Yeah true but idk since he could remember her last words maybe he'll remember this and he'll try to understand his mother idk just a theory
The parallels between Kana/Nino and Ruby/Ai go back further than the movie scenes. Remember, Kana did not want to be the center, she thought Mem-cho or Ruby would be better. We don't know if Nino actually thought Ai was the better center for B-Komachi. Since Akane is in the plot as Takamine (sp?) I wonder if she will raise a slightly different jealously issue for the current B-Komachi members. After the confrontation between Akane and Kana during the Instagram date incident Akane emotionally unravels in front of Aqua. She told Aqua that while she was working and studying hard to become an actress Kana was singing silly songs about green peppers. "She had it easy while I was working my ass off..." Hmm... Where have we heard that before? I don't know if anything will come of this parallel but Akasaka never leaves Chekhov's gun hanging on the wall in the last act.
I never expected the dramatic irony with the real Ai contrary to her literal name harbouring a cynical and hateful attitude secretly towards everyone which happened even before she fell in love with Hikaru and gave birth to Aqua and Ruby who were the main reasons for Ai to give herself a chance to look at the beautiful side of the world before she was murdered for good
I'm huge fan of Oshi No Ko and just discovered Your channel. I binged all the manga up to this point and boy oh boy You can't possibly imagine the revelations I have saw!😂 I believe that no one is looking at the 3 last lines of this chapter in the same way as me! I'm certain that most of people who are focusing on those lines are saying questions like: Does Ai really hated everyone? Does Rubi will become Ai herself eventually and will be full of hate towards not only actors, but other people that she was caring about as well? Can Rubi-Kana relationship be rebuild? If You think something else then sorry for all of mine accusations.😉 You see the 3 last lines of this chapter are: "I hate everyone. Screw them all. What did I do wrong anyway?". But now everyone should go back to chapter 118- during the initial conversation, between Aqua and this little girl that calls herself Tsukuyomi she says this: "Why do You hate me so much? Did I do something wrong?"🤯 Is it some kind of twisted foreshadowing? Is this girl a true reincarnation of Ai that became a greater liar then ever?! A liar that can deceive her own children as well?!!🤣 That would be the greatest plot twist of all time!😂 Still I came up with even crazier plot fracture that revolves around my favorite concept of reincarnation. That would be doing naughty things between "siblings" if You know what I mean and including this to a movie!!🤣Those are theories I come up with!😂
First chapter of the year and its already so good! This chapter’s art is like, Tokyo blade arc good! (Not that all the other arcs are bad or anything, its just that the art really was crazy in the Tokyo blade arc.) yay
This chapter gave me very Act age vibe I won’t be surprised if aka Took some inspiration from that series act is you are such a good series I miss that series. It sucks that that series got canceled.
AI was a liar the truth was she hated every body in the group she hated her friends/partners and she had it Nino the most nino loved and hated AI but I on the other hand headed Nino show much that she wanted to kill her
Just a little question because that arc confuses the heck out of me Does everyone in the show now know that hikaru is the father? I mean aqua will be playing him and a lot of people have said this movie is meant to condemn the father but it's just confusing to me. I mean first of all when did everyone even find out. I still am unsure if they all know but the way it's currently appearing to me is that they know and we just never got to see them find that out. And why aren't saitou or ruby saying something about that like saitou even said he would kill that guy if he knew his name yet he didn't do nothing now and ruby doesn't give a reaction either. And besides why are they even allowed to do this movie to begin with if the purpose is to condemn the father? Knowing how japan is it's quite surprising and hikaru does seem to be an important person in the entertainment industry
I don’t think they know for some certain that Hikaru is the father. At least everyone besides Akane and Aqua. Ichigo prolly knows as well but is going along with Aqua’s plan now. It is a good question tho, because it doesn’t seem like anyone has question or even reacted to Hikaru’s role. Perhaps the others haven’t the script yet.
Wait I wanna ask, so the last page we saw that Ruby cried with her black star eyes right, so it's that a part of the scence in the movie or its Ruby true feelings?
I think it’s a bit of both. Ruby is releasing her true feelings for the scene. Thx to Kana, she basically has gone through exactly what Ai has gone through. Plus Ruby believes Ai did cry, so she’s expressing the feelings of Ai and herself in the scene essentially. At least, imo
I literally don’t know why y’all are praising kana for WILLINGLY choosing to be an awful friend. And then kana trying to delude herself into thinking (I’m just bashing my friend who I’ve been jealous of for awhile to make her acting better) like bffr. She’s literally an awful friend and I’ve been annoyed with her character recently with the way she has been very spiteful and hateful lately. Honestly I genuinely hate how all the characters have been choosing to be awful to Ruby under the guise of “improvement” and this AWFULLY reflective of Ai life as well. With everyone around her pretending to be helpful while constantly treating her terribly. Not to mention the work load, this being a film about her mother, and everybody trying to choose what’s the best way to act out HER OWN MOTHER??? I’m just annoyed, this is NOT how you make a person learn, it’s vindictive. A lot of the arguments I’m seeing are counterproductive. Im and many other commenters are only addressing Kana, not everyone. So while yes, other characters have their own issues. I can talk about the issues I have with ONLY ONE without addressing everyone. I'm NOT denying other characters' complexities, but I’m focused on Kana and the directors actions. No one has the right to dictate how Ruby and Aqua handle their mom's portrayal. And while YES, Ruby is trying to understand her mother. This is still other people who are giving their outside opinion of their mom is, she’s also stressed from having to ACT OUT HER DEAD MOM! Kana kicked Ruby while she's down during a vulnerable moment. She’s not being helpful, she’s being a bad friend.
I shouldn't have read the links before the official release. I'm trying to stay away from the Noragami chapter leaks since it's last chapter is in this weekend.
Yep, OnK is really showing method acting to the extreme. Kana’s been consumed by her role and it’d be pretty crazy if she try to stab Ruby too
I saw this spoiler one week before the chapter came out. I already knew what was about to happen, and it still got me
I just realised when ruby threw the bottle imagine if kana had opened the door 😳
☠️☠️
^ Kana, 2024(alternative universe)
I can feel Nino's feelings
Honestly what makes me sad is the fact that the one who truly knowing Ai is Ruby, not Aqua. Ruby thinks Ai as mother, she sees her as human. If course she will portrait her accurately.
I think Aqua problem is the fact that he still thinks Ai as idol the most instead of just human, thinking Ai won't cry under pressure.
I think Aqua also does it as self-protection, because he doesn't want to admit that Ai also put on a mask in front of him and Ruby, and that the reason she didn't cry and smile while she died was mainly because he was in front of her watching her die...
Imagine ruby kills kana that would be hella crazy
and imagine she would reach out to her father for help
Imagine bro
Yooo that’d be crazy af! Hikaru would be a proud Dad too 😂
*Ahhhh shoot, here we go again.*
@@ZephyrRetroHikaru: now thats my girl
This chapter showcased a very important detail that you guys must pay attention to.
Number 1, The fact that our protoganist is not reliable at all. Aqua doesn't know a thing about Ai! Literally. If i look at Aqua as a character, he's only there for playing the role of a male character in this series. Everyone has had a different notion about Ai, different from how she appeared, but it's only him who keeps pressing on her "talent."
Ai was talented, she was so talented that noone could figure out who shr really was. In the end, Aqua is just turning into what his dad probably was, an obsessed freak.
He couldn't even fathom Ai being weak and himself said, "Ai didn't cry."
Gotanda tries to see her true self, he is making this movie as a revenge.
Even with her real self."
During the shooting she realised who her mother really was, a sad and vulnerable person. This made her sadder for her. She herself said, "Mama was feeling all kinds of things."
This "mama, mama" is kinda repetetive, but it's what Ruby thinks of Ai as her mother.
Imagine when this shit gets animated. Holyyy. Happy new year bro.
S4 will be absolutely peak 😤
Happy new year to you as well bro
First 😊 thanks for the update ❤.
Np, glad to see u here 😁
Insane Chapter 🔥🔥🔥🔥, Also wtf Ruby ayo 😲😲😲😲, she's showing Hikaru genes.I feel theres twist at the end like Ai and Hikaru is the same but different sides of the Coin, Ai endured the struggle whilst Hikaru fell from it, but then again, I doubt it since the Hikaru was the one who survived him her.
Kana is or at this point “Nino” is pushing Ruby to her breaking point. (2:07 I’m sure she would have said Ruby instead.)
This entire arc has so much Ruby angst. The fact that people hate her JUST BECAUSE OF THAT ONE CHAPTER makes me feel even more bad for her, she does not deserve any of this
Happy New Year 🎉🎉
Happy new year! 🎊 🥳
Kana better watch out not to push Ruby too hard you know what happens when you push Ruby too hard she can end kana at any point if she wanted to before the reveal Ruby was using Khanna for her own benefits she can manipulate Kana if she wanted too
I wouldn’t be surprised if Ruby went off on Kana eventually. That would be epic or if she began manipulating Kana too
Aqua’s 6D plan is working out perfectly 😈👍👌
Concerning Aqua’s soul tho…well, that remains to be seen.🤔
Idk it's just a theory.
i mean people tend to represse traumatic experiances
@@iswatergood Yeah true but idk since he could remember her last words maybe he'll remember this and he'll try to understand his mother idk just a theory
Yeah, "At least, I never personally saw her cry" is just plain incorrect
Cool Chapter review, can wait for the next one.
Thanks! Next should be in 2 weeks since we got another break next week unfortunately
@@ZephyrRetro shoot
I never expected the dramatic irony with the real Ai contrary to her literal name harbouring a cynical and hateful attitude secretly towards everyone which happened even before she fell in love with Hikaru and gave birth to Aqua and Ruby who were the main reasons for Ai to give herself a chance to look at the beautiful side of the world before she was murdered for good
producer Kotanda be like: HOOOLLLLDDDDD, not yet😂😂😂😂
Gotanda knew Ruby wasn’t finished just yet 😂
I'm huge fan of Oshi No Ko and just discovered Your channel. I binged all the manga up to this point and boy oh boy You can't possibly imagine the revelations I have saw!😂 I believe that no one is looking at the 3 last lines of this chapter in the same way as me! I'm certain that most of people who are focusing on those lines are saying questions like: Does Ai really hated everyone? Does Rubi will become Ai herself eventually and will be full of hate towards not only actors, but other people that she was caring about as well? Can Rubi-Kana relationship be rebuild? If You think something else then sorry for all of mine accusations.😉
You see the 3 last lines of this chapter are: "I hate everyone. That would be doing naughty things between "siblings" if You know what I mean and including this to a movie!!🤣Those are theories I come up with!😂
Aqua and akane forever ❤ they both have chemistry ❤🙂
if ruby is going back to her black staringan days I might just end it all
Ai Hoshino is truly a genius like William Shakespeare was in DC Comics, The Sandman series. There is a price of being a genius and the special.
This manga is so well written!
First chapter of the year and its already so good! This chapter’s art is like, Tokyo blade arc good! (Not that all the other arcs are bad or anything, its just that the art really was crazy in the Tokyo blade arc.) yay
Yeah Tokyo Blade arc had peak art, especially when during the play
when you break and cute happy go character:
This chapter gave me very Act age vibe I won’t be surprised if aka Took some inspiration from that series act is you are such a good series I miss that series. It sucks that that series got canceled.
Dang I remember Act Age too. The manga was doing pretty good until the stuff with the author happened rip
Depression in every chapter, I can't imagine then when the film is over what will happen, for sure something traumatic is now around the corner.
AI was a liar the truth was she hated every body in the group she hated her friends/partners and she had it Nino the most nino loved and hated AI but I on the other hand headed Nino show much that she wanted to kill her
Thanks a lot for this video!! It was pretty confusing to me (I thought someone had got shot 😭)
Glad the vid helped out 😄
Hikaru be like 😈
like brother like sister
😢I KNEW THE PART WHERE U SAY IT REMINDS YOU KEEPS COMING. Do you know something? Ais death was foreshadowed on the first episode
Why I got feelings, that one of chapter will be a movie, literally a movie just about Ai and her time in the industry like a background story...
Just a little question because that arc confuses the heck out of me
Does everyone in the show now know that hikaru is the father?
If Ruby kills kana then I’m joining kana in the after life
wait what's your editing process.? How do you get the small panels and what not
I usually just save the pages and crop them for the panels I want before adding them into premier
