I love how a bunch of law enforcement agencies are joining UA-cam it kinda gives us as citizens a little look into the police force, keep up the good work stay safe - from Western Australia
im 12 and since i was 9 i have wanted to join the police force in some way. Being a kiwi and hearing about how nice the NZ police force is from my uncle has made my choice of job easier every year.

This is great to see as a kiwi wanting to see firsthand what it's like and not what's edited on TV and also someone considering going through the recruitment process. What challenges are you facing in terms of editing these vlogs so far to keep the senior staff happy in regards to information that the public can see/hear or are they leaving all this up to you? Could be awesome to see some slightly longer episodes in the future, possibly 15-20 mins even 30 mins, just you or 2 up, driving around talking, answering questions etc if you were allowed to, possibly a front facing GoPro showing a pursuit? Although that's probably pushing it a little

All super-powers are acquired from the gear room at the start of shift, I usually go for night vision but someone put them in the wrong box and I ended up with the typing one, tasted like coriander. Constable Hurn.

Have a think about it Carly, we meet all kinds of people and we need all kinds of people to do the job. You can always chat to recruitment or even your local cops if you're wondering about it. Part of the recruitment process is a set of ride alongs so you get a chance to see what it's like first hand, it might be worth getting to that stage to find out if it's for you. - Constable Hurn.

My dad was police, trained Trentham, based Ponsonby.....much respect NZ police.. I dreamt of being police , however had an illness. What’s funny is I cracked a joke to a policeman a few days ago and said when Nz police hire like police academy I’ll be in with a chance ... look me up

Liked to know what Police recruits are taught on how to handle situations where family violence is happening - the steps they take etc. Things have changed from 30 or more years ago. With the It’s Not OK campaign, has there been a decrease of family violence seen by Police in the communities??

Joanne Phillips I would imagine the "it's not ok" campaign has lowered the real amount of domestic violence but dramatically increased the incidence of reported violence. Making the stats show a false increase in violence.
Brem - hopefully it’s made it easier and less threatening to report and make complaints. Which is not a comfortable thing to do when it’s family.

Do cops stop gang members riding motorcycles because I see them doing 140kph and no cops ever stop them. Are they scared of them and won't pull them over ?

Paul Williams If there were twice as many traffic cops on the road they still wouldn't be able catch all of the speeders. You can't pull over a speeder you aren't there to pull over.

It is interesting what cops go through. I couldn't imagine listening to drunk people and the stupid excuses you get on traffic stops etc etc. I couldn't handle the dangers they face or the lack of respect and appreciation they get. I know there's a few cops out there that ruin the reputation for most, but if we had no cops, where would we be? Screwed!
Can you please do a few Vlogs with the K9 crew, would be awesome to see, you should also edit in your body cam footage more, i think more people would watch with some more intensity, get a better editor and give him some good footage

Got to say they are definitely aiming at their target audience, ie young teens who fall into that youtube dark hole one too many times, and need to get off their asses and start adulting (basically describing myself ). :)
This also allows some-form of transparency, where the public can get an inside view of these officers, ultimately creating a form of mutual respect.
