    Nice Zent! 150 mph is definitely scary in an S2000 ;) Sorry to hear about the engine. If you decide to do a naturally aspirated build, feel free to reach out as I've learned quite a bit with my build.

    Keep the motor that was intended for the car, no crazy swaps.. maybe upgrade the SC or an all motor setup would be cool too. Whatever you build just don't swap out the motor for a crazy swap, cause honda gave us a really great motor to mess with, whether it's N.A. or boost.. just my 2 cents.

    Go for ap1 motor but with the ap2 valve retainers and keepers. Then you have an unbreakable engine as far as what I know! It's more durable basically and funner if that's even a word. Nice video man!

      I'm all about turbo's but Honda engines are about the instant throttle feel. This car handles really good and is RWD so I think the Turbo would reduce confidence with the peaky power delivery and lag. Were it another car/engine, I would agree.

    I have had Porsche 911s, 914s, a Caymen, GTI and a Challenger SRT-without a doubt I have enjoyed my 01 S2000 the best. The only thing close was my 88 911 with a 993 motor. The 911 was a bit faster, but the S2000 is better in every other way but still twitchy enough in the handling department to not be a bore trike the cayman. I will never sell my S.

    Dont do a LS swap, going to cost $10~15k on the cheap end which is not worth it. Look into a semi built rebuild of the stock motor (if the crank is ok), and change the pulley on the SC (you may already have a high boost pulley i forget) I would like to see e85 if you can readily get it in CA. Sorry to see the motor blown, great channel keep it up!

  • @starwarrior125

    My vote goes to a new Twin Charge Setup. You keep the Supercharger but get a new pully for more boost. You replace the motor but port it and put in New Forged Internals on the inside. At the same time you put in new Lifters and Springs and CAM the car to increase the RPM limit. Then you add a nice sweet Turbocharger so you get some nice Mid-High end power and the Supercharger gives you more low end Torque.

    Twin turbo J-series, with the turbo system tuned for maximum response. Keeps the engine in the family, the V6 is silly strong with a good sound track and it's different, along with being inexpensive to purchase and upgrade.

    Great video, same level of driving.
    Make it NA again… but go AP1 this time around ;) the original gear ratio coupled with higher revs bring its true essence out of the S2k.
    For reference, I hit 258kph on the Autobahn before I had to let go of the gas. (read from the speedo, so the number needs to be adjusted for reading error). My AP1 was full stock. oh… and I was running 100 octane from Local Shell stations ;)

  • @alexisthemovie

    I hit 151 (gps) on ACS roval on pump gas (~420whp at the time) with a wing. On E85 (560whp), I can definitely hit 155, although I'm revving my AP2 to 8500rpm so it won't run out of gear by the time I have to lift.

    You should keep your build the same... Seems to work well. Find the cause, fix it, improve it and go back out there. I've blown my engine a few times and i took my advice and I'm happy with my car now. If people keep changing their cars/engines they're swapping problems and not moving foward.

  • @kjwong4730
    @kjwong4730 6 років тому

    I say but another F motor and fully build it, keep the supercharger. It's perfect for that platform and plenty of power. S2000 built meant for top speed anyway, the fact that it can go 140mph is pretty good.

    Going WOT for more than 1 min is gonna put a lot of pressure on these engines I guess, as they are running at such high rpm, plus you have a supercharge on it. I tried to reach top speed in my 130k mile NA AP1, after WOT for about 90 seconds, it throws a CEL at me :) And the light went off after I cooled down the engine
