- It has become a tradition at Rockland Fire that at the end of your last shift firefighters drive you home in a fire truck. Yesterday was Captain John "Minnow " Sammon's last day after over 34 years of dedication, sacrifice and commitment to the Town of Rockland.
Words can not express how much knowledge and experience Minnow has imparted on Rockland Firefighters over the years. Rockland Fire will never be the same now that he has retired.
Min, remember to stop by anytime you want to give us your words of wisdom.
Please watch this emotional video till the end.
Thank you to everyone that stopped by to congratulate Minnow.

Congratulations Capt. John Sammon, I heard Beer...in Tijuana, Mexico its a "Cerveza" or "Cheve", and only with permission of wife - no like problemas with her. Good luck and blessings in all that you do. I am trying to get on with the TJ Fire and Rescue as a volunteer.
That's Awesome enjoy retirement job well done.
NICE!
Hell yeah
0:13 I’m sorry, I can’t keep watching. Way too sad. When you get to the point you have to say goodbye to your true passion, you say goodbye to yourself, a part, a big part of yourself. I dreamed to be a firefighter since when I was born. Maybe in a few months I’ll manage to achieve it, and if I do I hope to never see my retirement.
Oh god who's chopping the onions 😭
This shit is cool.
I did 40 yrs paramedic in Australia they couldn’t care less got a 200 cheque in the mail and I saw a lot of shit far more than this cat. This is America at yr silliest
