As someone who has always been a fuzzed out noise maker and a fan of all things chaotic, I've recently been immersing myself in ambient guitar music and I think your videos are great. I think the band Earth (Dylan Carlson) really helped to push me and make me really appreciate slow and repetitive music; sometimes it's okay to jam the same riff for 8 minutes straight haha. I've taken something away from each of your videos and applied it in my own ways and that's often created some extensive and awesome jams. Thanks for all the work you put into these videos! I look forward to more tips and reviews!
My T2 arrived yesterday. Is simply beautiful; spent hours trying some tone prints. Which ones are your favorites, guys? Mine (at least for ambient use) is Jonsi's one so far...
Hi, i bought this pedal for the Ethereal I effect, mostly with volume swells. If you use the Toneprint editor you can get very interesting results, all the modulation, swells and long-short reverbs can be put into 1 toneprint, and the 3 knobs can be set to 3 functions each, at the same time interacting. So one knob is a chorus on 0 and a flanger on 10, but also EQ-ing your tone etc. In combination with a stereo delay perfect !! :) I just need more tone print slots ;)
This video is what sold me on the pedal. That reverb II setting is just beautiful. Lush, rich with a hint of tremolo while retaining precise note definition. Thanks for the great demo buddy!
8:30 that's where this pedal shows it's magic, paired with a nice Delay and you can achieve such beautiful soundscapes!! You would recommend getting this one over the HOF for a Post-Rock setting?
If you have a HOF already, I would suggest creating your own Post-Rock TonePrints and load them into the pedal. You get all the same parameters as the patches in the T2. But if you like the settings on the T2, and plan to use them a good bit, then it's probably the better choice.
I'm going for the T2 then, do not have a "real" reverb yet. Already have de Alter Ego X4, so I guess they're a great option together for the post-rock sound I'm looking for. Thanks a lot, and awesome review as usual ;)
Great video - thank you for sharing. I've owned this pedal for over 2 years and always find new and interesting ways to use it. I generally play out of a Deluxe Reverb and love the added dimension(s) that this pedal makes available.
Thanks for spending time with the mix at 100% on a few of the settings. It’s shocking to me how rare it is for people to demo (even ambient) reverbs with them completely wet. Keep up the good work!
+Otsu's Pyre Sure thing! Make sure you are looking the Neunaber Wet Stereo. There's a mono version, which obviously would not support the stereo field.
Great review and beautiful playing as always! I have had the t2 for about a year, really happy with it ..although I have never really found a place for some of the heavier modulated reverb settings, but love having the toneprint feature as it opens up more options.
This has inspired me to send a reverb into another reverb and then into another modulated reverb in one endless chain of reverb madness. Never tried it!
It's what I'd imagine you'd hear if you were trapped inside of a giant whale's stomach way down in the deep depths of the ocean approximately one hour after consuming a handful of mushrooms.
Reverb sounds nice but I can't get it to output a wet stereo signal, but the S output is always dry or muted (when I set the kill the dry signal switch inside the pedal)... It drives me crazy... anybody knows if this is normal?
I found a killer deal on this on eBay and couldn't pass it up... bought it specifically for the toneprint options like Jonsi's toneprint, definitely a favorite of mine... combine this with the wet and aurora reverbs and you'll be lost for days! Nice demo!
I own the Strymon big sky and the tc-t2 and neither reverb pedal will ever leave my board both to me are awesome, both are stereo, both with great sounds to mix!
+Tom Drake $99 mine came in the mail yesterday. I will be playing all weekend long just put Seymour Duncan hot-rodded in my hagstrom ultralux XL2. can't wait
I don't own this pedal, but I noticed every demo for it is a generally clean sounding. With all the modulation I can't help but think it might shine more with high gain, Kevin Shields type riffs and drones rather than clean melodic stuff.
T2 sound always come with a sort of shimmering in the back ground. I bought this pedal and sell it in the same week. I know it's not the same price but if you like "pure" reverb, go for Stymon Big Sky.
+Yohan Klouds - The shimmering & weirdness is kinda the point of this pedal. - This is the "trippy" version of the "Hall of Fame." - For more "normal" (& beautiful) reverbs, I think you would've been happier with the original HOF. - Strymon Big Sky is also awesome, of course.
By chance do you think you might be able to check out some wackier pedals like some of the stuff that Earthquaker Devices do like the rainbow machine. Thanks for the videos keep it up look forward to these every time

+Chords Of Orion Afterneath perhaps?? Talk about ambient! To pricey for me, though, but I just ordered the T2 and it looks like I made a good choice! Cello is going to sound great through it, I can't wait to get some recordings up!
hi... first of all I'm a big fan from Brazil, your chanel is great, but now let me ask you, I want to know something about this TC Electronics pedals, did they has the tails mode? I think this feature is essential in ambience effects I cant believe that a great company as TC didn put it on their pedals.
Greetings! Yes, the T2 has a "tails mode". In order to activate it you need to switch to Buffered Bypass. The default setting is True Bypass, which stops the reverb tail as soon as you tap the switch. When in Buffered Bypass mode, the tail of the reverb continues even after the switch is turned off. Hope this helps!
Hey man! Can you tell me on the tone print for this would it be from the hall of fame? In the tone print app at least the trinity is not listed as a product. So I was concerned that I couldn't use the app to beam tone prints. I am hoping you just beam the hall of fame prints so wanted to confirm that with you. Thanks for you help! I am new to your channel and love it! I just bought a triple deal and ditto x4. I'm so glad to have you channel to follow!!
+Chords Of Orion yeah I have recorded a few songs with it and I have noticed that it can get really loud with dirt running into it also. It's a fun pedal though, I find I'm using it in a different way than just a reverb, very expressive tool.
This came out before the HOF2, so it does not have the built-in expression button (MASH button). You can probably get most of the sounds on the HOF2 by using the TonePrint editor, however, if you like the "out of the box" sounds of the HOF2 better, that is the way to go. I still like the T2, however, I do find it to be more of a specialty pedal because of the modulations. There are just not as many places I can use them.
Chords Of Orion Thanks. I like watching your videos, even though I am a synth guy. Your baritone guitar video was interesting. You were getting some nice sounds out of it. I wonder if Steve Hillage used one on his vintage ambient recordings from the 1970’s like on the Rainbow Dome album or the other two from that era . . .
Would you do a demo with the new PRS SE 277 Baritone guitar? I know you've got a video with the Fender Blacktop Baritone Tele, but they seem to be hard to come across these days, and one of the PRS baritones has P90s and is semi-hollow, so I'm curious as to how that would sound in an ambient-guitar context. I just got one but now I find it to much vibe guess I have to dialed back. But I only 50$ so not a bad deal I guess. But I can really hear the digital in it. 👍 great review
+John Duval The delay is a Strymon Timeline. Nothing too terribly special about the setting though. Just a patterned delay like a lot of units will do.
+Dan Jack-son I normally run reverbs after the delays, including the T2, unless I am looking for a particular effect. I did a recent walkthrough of a patch where I "delay the reverb". Might be of interest... ua-cam.com/video/RubIX7lkQ_I/v-deo.html

+Guido Dresmé Ha! The number of pedals left to check out, yes... Seriously though, this is definitely a specialty type of pedal, and will not work well for everyone. But for those that dig it, it's pretty cool.

+Dago 64 I like it quite a bit. As I mentioned in the video, I appreciate that it (as a small form factor reverb) has a true stereo reverb, unlike many small pedals. I also like most of the reverb types enough to use them. It is definitely not a general purpose reverb pedal, but with the TonePrint slot, will work well for me.
You know, I personaly as my playingit is not exactly ambient music at all, but i love some ambient-like guitars in background, you understand ;) and i believe this pedal is excelent for me, but it is not cheap (i have only very cheap pedals at the moment) so i have to think about it is it awesome enough to spend so much money on it :) but i think it is :)
All the things you play!! Is that an open D tuning?? Please, could you make a song with all the secuences Of chords and arpeggios?? Haha , I found myself listening over and over like it were a whole song, i may sound crazy, sorry about that!! You've blew my mind
well after two days of owning this pedal I returned it to my local music store... just was not really impressed. I am picking up my new Strymon Big Sky reverb today... more money but a better choice.
I think every preset could be useful depending on what you're playing. Each one has it's own spirit and in my opinion is wrong to try them all with the same melody...
Exactly my thoughts.Tthis pedal is very unique sounding reverb,I haven't heard such before with moving pitch bending reverb trials, flangy modulated reverbs, ethereal just great I'm getting one along with the Strymon Timeline i think these two pedals will work perfectly together.

Ye man, If your only income is from music there has to be a controlled output on which pedals are good or bad. For around $150 ,which to me is three gigs, a pedal has to last longer than its official warranty, which in this case is 2 years.I have in my small but selected collection some pedals from as far back as the late 60`s which are all in perfect working order. If technology is to be embraced it surely has to be more reliable.Rant over. Gregor.

Hello Sr, what the cheapest reverb pedal you can recommend that does the job for ambient swells? Behringer rv600 have tried it? Line6 Verbsilla clone
That's a good question. I think that the cheapest reverb pedal I have tried is the T2, so I will have to go with that!
It's good, but I think I prefer the HOF 2 and the Neunaber pedals. The modulation on the T2 is kinda silly.
Fair!

Just off the cuff...
Which kind of delay you were using in the last part? Is it a digital or analog/tape delay? Thanks for your videos, learning great stuff on creating ambient atmospheres. My goal is to do similar things on bass
The delay is the Strymon Timeline. To be honest, I don't remember which delay engine it was. Probably Digital.
What are the differences between this one and the Hall of Fame 2?
This one as no MASH button, and the reverb types are different - typically heavily modulated.
I think the modulation is too intense in a few settings, so it's not very useful. I prefer the HoF. Nice video btw :)
+Damjan Jovanovic Yeah, I can't argue with that. A couple of the settings are definitely "specialty" use only, and if you are looking for a more general purpose reverb, the HoF is certainly a great choice.

and subtle modulation."

Hey, does the pedal have a true dry/wet? so you can blend out the dry signal?
There is a kill dry switch - it knocks out the dry signal completely...
but where is it? because in the manual it says, that the dry signal is always present. And i wanna use it as a send effect.
check the manual: there is a dip switch inside the pedal, with it you can switch the dry signal totally off, so you can use the effect in parallel.
What update t2?
I don't believe it is available any longer. Have to look on Reverb or EBay.

All the things you play!! Is that an open D tuning?? Please, could you make a song with all the secuences Of chords and arpeggios?? Haha , I found myself listening over and over like it were a whole song, i may sound crazy, sorry about that!! You've blew my mind
I have to say that I'm not keen on the T2. The original Trinity is a better pedal in my opinion. Another great pedal is the mxr reverb
Delay before or after the reverb?
Before, but there are no rules. Try both.
I want some of whatever he smoked...
well after two days of owning this pedal I returned it to my local music store... just was not really impressed. I am picking up my new Strymon Big Sky reverb today... more money but a better choice.
At 4 times the price that's not unexpected ...
I think every preset could be useful depending on what you're playing. Each one has it's own spirit and in my opinion is wrong to try them all with the same melody...
Exactly my thoughts.Tthis pedal is very unique sounding reverb,I haven't heard such before with moving pitch bending reverb trials, flangy modulated reverbs, ethereal just great I'm getting one along with the Strymon Timeline i think these two pedals will work perfectly together.
hmmm. my boss is stereo rv6
sounds bad ass man 🙄
This guy needs to CALM DOWN!

TC Electronics are not willing to help with this issue. This is a bad pedal. Digital PCB,No spare parts , No guarantee on expensive repairs. I will never buy another TC Electronics product. They have apparently recently been bought over by behrringer which figures. I give you all fair warning, Do not buy any TC Electronics products.
What issue are you referring to? I don't see any other comments from you describing the problem.

Wow do you post this comment on every video about this pedal?
Ye man, If your only income is from music there has to be a controlled output on which pedals are good or bad. For around $150 ,which to me is three gigs, a pedal has to last longer than its official warranty, which in this case is 2 years.I have in my small but selected collection some pedals from as far back as the late 60`s which are all in perfect working order. If technology is to be embraced it surely has to be more reliable.Rant over. Gregor.
