Instead of stopping and starting to line up the holes to reach the handle screw... you can take off the cover to the gear box and turn the gear slowly until the blades move and the hole lines up. Always with the spark plug disconnected of course.

GREAT VIDEO. THANK YOU. If you do open up the gear case remember the very thin little paper gasket is extremely fragile. It is there to keep moisture out more so than to keep grease in. There is a chance, even if the gasket integrity appears uncompromised, that upon reassembly it will not reseal well. Certainly a thin bead of silicone can suffice as an alternative but the proper procedure would be to replace the $1.07 gasket with a new one. Opening the gear case should simply be avoided whenever possible. Regarding the periodic fastener, it would be recommended that the Phillip's screwdriver be used only to hold the fastener in place while turning the nut with the socket/ratchet tool assembly, not the other way around. 🤔

Thx this helped me. Some how the nuts got too tight on the blade arm. Didn't know something like this could actually tighten rather than worrying about it loosening bolts.
    Thx again.

I don’t know if you’re familiar with them but I just bought a pair of the new HC -2020 a few months back the replacement model of the 152. The other day I was on a job and I hit something and they froze. I took them right over to the power equipment dealer and he looked at them and got them moving again and said there was nothing wrong. So after that I noticed that they were not cutting good so I took the blades out and sharpened them. When I reinstalled them back in the gear box I couldn’t get them to move. The HC - 2020 has a different gear setup different from the 152’s . It only come with one big gear on top and a little small gear. I’ve taken them in and out at least a half dozen times and still can’t get them to move. I’ve run them without the blades a few times and all the gears rotate fine and are well lubed. I just can’t figure this. And there is no special timing with these gears either like the 152’s . Since I bought them the blades would freeze sometimes when starting.

I have one hc152 and when i tilt it when trimming it kinda bogs down. Gas is full and al. What do you suggest?

Clearly a fuel issue. Clean the lines first and then check the carb for blockage. Try cleaning it the best you can.

I been having trouble with my hedge trimmer its runs by itself and don't know what to do. Can you please make a video of how to fix a running hedge trimmer??

Do you mean the blades are running at idle? If so there is an idle screw that is right by the cable where it connects to the carb. Adjust the nut and the idle should decrease.
