I met my Filipina also on Filipino Cupid. We talked for a year, then I went to the Philippines and met her in person. We then got married in the Philippines, plus my Filipina filled out all the legal papers for us to get married. I even took pictures of her working on our paper work. She was able to do the paper work cause she worked for the government in the Philippines and her job was marriage license. We now have been married for 13 years and she is the best wife I have ever had. @@bobbyjames4300 The modern world comes to the Philippines, so basically you want the west to benefit from technology but not the general poor of the phil’s.
Thank you Phil, for the words of wisdom. I’m in the LDR phase, and contemplating going over this coming May. You are an excellent story-teller, you are easy to listen to.
Best thing is "Just be friends" until you are Boots on the Ground and THEN the REAL relationship starts as the rose colored glasses come off and reality sets in. But I came to visit several times and met some Gorgeous women BUT i also kept in mind that in the Philippines your Husband or Spouse is NOT #1 like it is the West. Instead her list goes like this 1) Family, 2) her kids, 3) Friends, 4) Spouse and 5) job so you can see why there is conflict as you are LOW on the Totem pole of priorities unless she has no good family to support her and has no kids. Then you still have cultural and communication issues let alone the way things are even processed. If you get Lucky and she isn't playing you for the Long game (con) then you might get lucky and end up Happy. Best advice as Marriage is a contract then get BEST Lawyer you can and write up a prenup with fidelity clause, intimacy clause, financial details and incentives as a graduated increase over time and penalties and strict timelines. Otherwise you could end up either broke, in a sexless marriage, or have a mean spiteful woman that runs over you as the crab mentality of the family brings you down to their level. Vet her Family and make sure no loose cannons as they will effect your peace and once you are Married there is NO Theft charges against them if the kids, siblings, relatives come and steal your stuff.. And best suggestion carefully pick her from Upper class or make sure (go to family reunions, weddings and holidays as you will quickly see how the relatives act and how you will be treated in the future)
I met a Filipina online, talk almost daily with her for a year. She was sweet and a ex nun too. After I dumped her because she was too immature with strong baby rabies. She found an American man who came to impregnate her after knowing her for two months online. They got married 4 months later and they are now waiting the visa to get her in the US. I am often wondering how it will go for them.
My experience - We met online in 2010, got married in 2011. She came to the U.S. in 2012 (CR-1 visa, we got married in the Philippines), and lived there for about 4 years. We then moved back to the Philippines in 2016. In 2024, we decided to break up (nothing horrible happened like cheating, just endless arguments, disagreements, TAMPO, etc). So now I'm still living here, and enjoying the single life. As you said, it's easy to find a beautiful young woman, 20 years younger than yourself here. Date them, have fun with them, but nope...not going to get married again. Also, yes I know that there's no divorce here (other than annulment). I can go back to the U.S. and file for divorce there, bring the divorce papers back here, and have it recognized as an international divorce (much easier than the ridiculous Philippines annulment process).
It's too late. I married one 12 years ago and still going. "Don't marry the person you love, marry the person that loves you". That's my best advice...
The gold diggers are easy to spot. They will never cook for you. Instead they will want you take them out to eat everyday. The woman that cooks for you is the one that loves you.

I was a fool also. Luckily it all worked. We met online, talked every day for 2 years before meeting. After 3 weeks together I filed for a K1 fiancé visa and we eventually got married. I'm happily married and we will have our 10th wedding anniversary in April. We have a 5 yr old son that I love more than anything on this earth. My wife was working as a nurse in the UK so it's a little different circumstances than most. Things have worked out great for me but I still wouldn't recommend what I did to others.
