It’s also a odd that his supposedly "well-to-do" family, and wife and kids neither attended his funeral nor wanted his body sent back home. The only long term expat brokies I've known there to be reasonably successful, 1 won the Filipina lottery, a steady wife who stuck with him & worked online as a real estate consultant for the rest of his life- from 20-32. By the end of it she had a US passport & work, friends to go to in Alaska. The other was an Aussie who taught English for rent & board, carried nothing but a kaban of rice for years. Takes a special kind & a lot of luck.

Wow Phil, you nailed my gap! Pretty scary for me and I tried to snuff out the flames before they grew, she just convinced me with her beauty and charm that our ages did not matter. She may be beautiful and charming but at 36 but she's washed up by Filipina standards, especially with two kids, 2 and 5 and the 5 yr old has cerebral palsy. No expat I know would touch that scenario. My opinion, having never had children, has presented an opportunity for me to rescue and be rescued, she has promised to care for me when Im circling the drain, and in exchange I get to spend the rest of my lucid life caring for her and her kids.
