    Foam tips aren't necessarily better. Yes, they give better isolation, but if silicone tips give you enough, they're actually more balanced than foam tips. The tubular nature of the foam tip core actually boosts lower frequencies which might be much for some and more desirable for others. Also, in a live setting, it can be useful to have silicone tips that you can very quickly and easily take on and off compared to having to squeeze foam tips every time you want to put them in.

    Got a few things I'll add to the list of recommended iem related gear. The shure aptx hd bluetooth adapter is now only $50 and sounds excellent for iems that use mmcx connection. Unfortunately for two pin connection the only bluetooth I've tried and found so far is the kz aptx hd cable and the trn bt10 aptx wich is more stable with better battery life but doesn't sound as nice. For. Hardwired cable upgrades the linsoul trippowin 8 core and 16 core cables are the best affordable upgrade cables I've tried at around $16 for the 8 core and $20 for the 16 core cable. For iem wireless the xvive is a solid option for mono mix and the audio 2000 system is the best affordable choice for stereo. For eartips for universal fit as a alternative and more durable choice to the memory foam comply tips I recommend the spin fit twin blade tips or any triple flange tips. For custom mold iem's in the Us I recommend Anthem five iem's their dual driver set is $158 shipped and they sound excellent the new quads are $400 wich is abit steep but based on the dual drivers i can imagine for those willing to spend a bit extra they will be a worthy upgrade.

After going to a specialist recommended to me by other musicians in the area, it was a world of difference in how they were made and my next set fit like a glove. Lesson learned.

    I would like to say that sound quality is not about how many driver u can fit into an iem, it is about how well u can tune them. I own a KZ ZS10 pro and Moondrop KXXS. KXXS sells for $180 USD despite it is using only 1DD. Even at this price tag I would still say it is a worth it buy. It outperforms not only KZ but lots of multi BA iem I have tried their demo set at the store. The disadvantage of single dynamic is the treble clarity at the extreme end of the treble how much this matter depends on how u are planning to use the iem.

    I know this is an old video, but I stumbled onto it in my search for my first set of IEMs. I'm a guitarist, and for my first set, I'd like to stay below $100...if I end up like IEMS and we're gigging enough, I may upgrade or get customs later. I've seen CCA C12, KZ ZS10 Pro and BASN Master/MMCX as options, along with a few Simgots and Tins. It's all pretty overwhelming, to be honest. The big concern for me is my smallish ears. They're not noteworthy small, just on the smaller side. So fit will be a concern. Anyway, I'm just wondering if you're still testing IEMs and if so, what recommendations you have for a guitarist with smaller ears. Thanks!

    I trust your choices because you have good reviews on the IEMs that I bought that others seem to not like (sometimes hate lol). Best IEM for me (so far) is the ZS6, I love how clear and crisp everything sounds (except mids sometimes) specially how the 2 dd handle the bass, really great but not overpowering, just the right punch to it. I also bought Tin T3s because of your positive reviews. Now I'm planning to 'blind buy' the CCA C12s despite the bad reviews others have said about it, lol.
    Edit: have you tried the KZ ZSA? I was amazed at how good the bass sounds and how good it sounds overall considering its price. comparing to ZST, which has great mids and highs but terrible bass, the ZSAs are a good introductory iem for me. I bought a ZSA a few years ago just to use as an alternate to my ZS6 (I don't have T3 yet at the time) plus the ZSA is really compact and comfortable in the ears. It's like the ZS6's small brother, lol.

    Reviewing speakers and headphones without frequency curve measurements is meaningless. Thank you for including it and not giving us your personal, subjective perception of the sound.
    I used to extremely flat frequency response from my monitors and headphones as I digitally corrected them in my studio, but I just purchased ATH E40 and they are good overall however there is some bump at 550 Hz which makes them sound average for me personally. I understand it is done on purpose to bring the vocals in front, but I do not like it at all.
    Did I purchased the wrong IEM's? Would those KZ have flatter frequency response?

    As a hard-hitting rock/metal drummer, my #1 criteria is outside sound isolation. Reviews almost always place Shure SE215 on top for that particular feature. What is your opinion and what else would you suggest, budget-wise? MEE Audio M6 Pro are bad for isolation and I also tried the KZ ZS10 Pro and found them too bulky (like the CCA C12 in this video).

    • @josuastangl7140

      I'd also like to know about sound isolation. What did you go with? What was your solution?

    • @Drums4Freaks
      @Drums4Freaks 2 роки тому

      @@josuastangl7140 I went with Etymotic ER3XR. Best sound isolation on the market, even better than the renowned Vic Firth headphones (I made the test side by side)! They're also super small, great sounding and below $200. I strongly suggest you check them out!
      The only down side for some people is that the cables do not go over the ears. Really not a big deal, I still clip them in my back and just bring the cables over my shoulders. The cables are also super light and thin so it's not disturbing at all and the buds stay in place.

      @@Drums4Freaks thx for your answer! But that's a dealbreaker to me, when I jump around on stage. I might go with the Shure 215s for built quality and sound isolation, just compromising on sound quality

    oh, I though I narrowed down my search to the Shure 215 and Sennheiser IE40.. Back to the drawing board I guess..

    custom IEM's?
    Very helpful

    Hi Dan. I’m an electric guitarist in a church in South Australia. I broke my ZST in ears with my face mask 😷!!! How do you rate the KB ear KB10s? Can’t find any good unbiased videos (let alone in English) on UA-cam. 5 drivers in each unit. The frequency chart looks good for mids.

    Is it a good idea to use such in-ear monitors for studio recordings? In cases where a singer will be listening to instruments or playback while recording voice to a separate track, will the sound from such monitors leak to the singer's microphone? Thanks for a great video

    I have a question
    I'm freaking audiophile & bass head i love to listen to Black metal bands specially the ones in Sweden, Norway such Black metal freak bands DIMMU BORGIR, Emperor, Dark throne...etc
    Ive tried every earbud on the market to satisfy my need for the best audiophile one but they all waste of money and time
    With the Ear monitor is there excellent one can give me what i need?

    Well next week custom molded iem. You're a diy man, aren't you? You can your own with a pair of iem that you have laying around and a custom molded earplugs kit(mostly silicone molding) that cost around 10-15 $. You'll receive a kit to make your own custom earplugs. Just follow the first steps and when you put the silicone in your ear just put your iem in and wait 10 minutes for the silicone to harden. Than pull out the ear plugs and drill a small hole in the ear plug(remember to remove your in ears first;) for the sound and there's a set of costum iem for 10$ no iem included or 80$ including the cca c16. I've done this today and they fit really good.
    Pro tip: when you open your mouth your ear canal is bigger. So when you put the silicone in make sure you have your mouth wide open for the 10 minutes. Than the in ears fit just a little better

      @@GunsandGuitars hope your results are as good as mine! Be careful when you put in the in ears. If they are not in the middle of the mold the plugs can be a little thin on one side. Not a huge problem but that's where they can break first. Happened to me but they fit just as good as before. Only problem is a little crack. Better save than sorry. Good luck man!

      Jannes Van der veen What kit did you buy? And how did you prevent silicon from getting inside the inner part of the IEM when you shoved them into your ears while it was still mouldable? Wanting to attempt this myself and was mainly curious on being cautious on that specifically. 10 mistake is better than a $80 mistake including the IEMs haha.

    • @TheStemo1
      @TheStemo1 3 роки тому

      @@joshwise1369 The earmold kit can definitely get in the grill on the IEM nozzle. Happened to me and I had to pry the grill off. Personally, I didn't like the fit with the earmold kit around my IEMs....feels cheap and sweat builds up and makes a squish around year ears. There are places that make custom molds to fit certain IEMs. ADV Sound has a long list that includes Chifi and can do it for $100 around Black Friday.
