      I liked her!
      Those tics, very entertaining.
What i like, is that you don't have to view other peoples' tics as annoying or something to make them aware of.
They are funny, and brings a lighter moment where you can just laugh along with them rather than of them!
Make tics something you all can bond over, and think positively of!
Her tics made me laugh and feel kinda happy.
      They were entertaining! Positive.
To be honest, i have never before this video seen a tic and actually thought it positive like this, and just enjoy what i saw. Im glad.
      -----------------------
I myself have Tourettes, and two particular tics appeared and became kinda more frequent as most of the video went on.
My left eye gets sorta irritated, and i tend to roll my eyes, mostly pick/rub on that part of the eye to try lessen the reactions i have there.
As well as a sound i make with my throat, but not my throat clearing tic, just some sort of a vocal tic.
So i have a history with Tourettes, and hope this video will be very helpful for me!
It was very nice to watch.

Simple but encouraging quote, especially given the severity of the speaker's condition. At times I have been tempted to reduce everything about how I interact with people based on some of my peculiarities, but this quote has stuck with me and helped me to grow outside the box I I was putting myself in. I was looking for silicone necklaces for chewing on when my tics get bad because I saw an ad saying it was useful for people with tourettes, and I'm tired of biting my tongue or cheek when I have tic attacks. I couldn't find them, so I asked this employee if he could help, so he called his manager for me. They unfortunately didn't have them, and he let me know. I tried to say thank you, but ended up telling him to f*** off 8 times instead. I felt so bad I started crying, but this man was so. Freaking. Understanding. I don't have a physical condition, but when I was in 7th grade I had so much anxiety surrounding school that I switched to homeschool and went to a psychiatrist. She told me in that office that she was never going to diagnose me because it made her uncomfortable to 'put a label on a kid.' Over the years, this increased my problems so much because I would convince myself I was just being dramatic and i had nothing to be anxious or sad about. This caused so much anxiety and confusion that it drove me to hurt myself for the next two years and almost attempt to kill myself in 8th grade. Fast forward to 10th grade, I have a new psychiatrist. She didn't even take a full session to figure out what was going on and understand completely that there was something really wrong and that I needed help. After 3 long years of confusion and being so afraid that I was just faking everything and convincing myself that I had absolutely nothing that would make me feel this way, I finally got diagnosed (severe depression and social anxiety). I just remember the feeling of relief so vividly; I finally realized that I wasn't just being dramatic and that I had a reason to get some medication and start feeling better.

When I was a minor, I had a “fake” diagnosis. On my charts it said “traits of BPD” and I didn’t know this until years later. When I was 15 and found out about it I asked my psychiatrist at the time what that meant. I said “if I have traits, don’t I just have it? If I have the symptoms of a condition, I have it, right?” And he told me “Well you’re young so we can’t just diagnose you with BPD, but we say you have traits so that other doctors know that you have it.” And I was like “wtf?? Doesn’t make sense but whatever I guess.”
The same thing happened with Bipolar. They told me they didn’t wanna just diagnose me with it because I was young so they would always diagnose me with “unspecified mood disorder” instead. Like why??? When I turned 18 I finally got officially diagnosed with BPD and Bipolar.
But it honestly doesn’t make any sense to me. Just give me my diagnosis so I can cope with it. Because now I’m turning 20 next week and all my mental illnesses have upgraded due to lack of proper treatment and other events going on in my life. I already had a disability I was born with but now I have more. I made new appointments with doctors and therapist today and hopefully they won’t be like the ones I grew up with

Very validating. My breathing tics are so bad that I went to the hospital just so they could put me to sleep to give my body a break. I begged for sleep. My daily tics are annoying and I get made fun of by people in school. Just today people were airdropping pictures to me and trying to bother me and I wanted to just sink into the floor at that moment. The physiological effects this part of my life has had in me has been severe, and I also have imposter syndrome so when my tics are less bad I’m thinking, “There’s no way I have it, I’m being dramatic and I’m just a lazy slacker”. When they are bad any doubt in my mind is silenced but it is a constant struggle and the road to even get my own parents to believe me has been rough. I had to fight to go to the doctor to get it checked out bc my parents were really against it but now many situations in my past have been validated and I can live my life better, at least on the social end, the tics are still annoying and painful AF

Because she really struggles to gain an understanding of herself to others, and even I can't help, because mine are so different to hers.

I would enjoy an "I spent a day with people with auditory hallucinations" video. I feel it would be an informative video, since I was recently diagnosed with auditory hallucinations. They suck - hearing disembodied things where you can't find the source makes you paranoid and checking your surroundings.
Interestingly enough, auditory hallucinations don't have to be related to schizophrenia. PTSD, depression, and anxiety (which I also have, mind you) can also play a factor.
I remember they started out of the blue and I was scared - December 17, 2021. Been dealing with them ever since, even with my new medicine.

It also turned out that she was my friends neighbour for some time and when we talked about her (my friend) casually some time ago she was like: "Oh so that is the person I would occasionally hear playing the violin." The crazy thing is she lived in the house across the street from her. That's some next level hearing ability.

Since we're all sharing here, I also have Tourettes. At one point in my life I was working for a family business under the promise that i would get an apprenticeship for hvac.
I was onsite cutting pipe on one side of a large warehouse, while a coworker was working on the opposite side I don't know how he could hear me but apparently my tics set him off because he stormed all the way across the warehouse while i was running the pipe threader (very loud machine) and he proceeded to yell at me for making the annoying noises and for obsessively clearing my throat and blowing my nose among other things. I didn't feel like going into a huge explanation for why i do the things i do because we were both on the clock my lack of an explanation ended up with me being taken aside by a supervisor who asked me to go somewhere else to do what i was doing so as not to annoy coworker. Anyway i'm used to these types of incidents I didn't want to make a big deal out of it, but it ended up being used in a power play by a rival supervisor who was nearby who tried to reframe the incident as me being punished by the other supervisor. So I was hauled into the office with the owner, and supervisor 1 and 2 who argued amongst themselves about how i was treated on the worksite all for the purpose of getting supervisor 1 fired or disciplined or something. The owner knew I had Tourettes previously, so the question ended up being, did supervisor 1 harass you for having this problem, and I said no he was just trying to find a compromise it was "coworker" who was harassing me. I didn't like that I was being played like a political pawn It wasn't long after that I was laid off because of low work, and I was genuinely glad that I was.

Each case is unique in its own way. There is a natural progression of the affliction that is dependant on environmental variables.
Some people improve over time. Some people deteriorate.
Some people can be easily provoked and adopt new mannerisms easily. Others are more resistant to those same influences.
Some people do well with medication. Others do worse because the side effects are far worse than the affliction.
The crossovers of Tourettes being spread between a physiological and neurological impairment can create a varying spectrum of endless different presentations. There is no single recipe for guaranteed success in treatment.
Not enough is known about chemical imbalances of the brain to offer the treatment options necessary to control such involuntary subconscious impulses.
For many, the stigmas and anxiety of social interaction is worse than the syndrome itself.
Sadly, we live in a very ignorant and intolerant world, where far too many take far too much for granted.
