@@zoitsuh it’s uncomfortable when people who don’t have stuff say stuff like your tic is so wholesome and such. you get what I mean?
As someone with Tourette Syndrome, I relate to the guy in the gold pants. My tics are primarily twitching and breathing patterns and they do a number on my body. The best way to describe Tourette Syndrome to anybody who doesn't have it is, to imagine having hiccups for the rest of your life (of course, a more severe version of it).
So many of these comments just make my heart ache, I suffer from multiple disorders including Schizophrenia and even then through the chaos, I feel as if (personally) it doesn't even compare to the absolute pain of suffering from Tourettes as it's not only mentally draining, but physically as well. My heart reaches to all those with TS and I wish you the absolute best in life.
P.S (sorry if this comment didn't make sense, I struggle with forming coherent sentences)

"I dont know how it feels like to relax" ....can you imagine, breaks my heart
Tourettes is not necessary for that.
Try having multiple anxiety disorders.
I totally get that one.
People with tourettes and anxiety disorders find it hard to relax and it can be hard to imagine because you might accidentally imagine something that might trigger a tic or you might imagine something that might cause a panic attack

Fun fact: when people with Tourette’s are near each other, their tics are amplified. This video was a great idea.
Also, they can pick up tics from others with tourettes. Mariah's was displaying some Sweet Anita tics, lol. Even pulled a little bit of her accent on "fuck off".
is it a mental connection/radar thing? like if the other person wasn’t ticking or was just hiding it really well, would the other’s tics still amplify?
@@abcdefgh-fb5ny not at all, its just that when there are other ppl with tics, someone else's tics get triggered from seeing/hearing, its simply from observing

I worked with Carlos at the Cheesecake Factory in Marina del Rey, LA several years ago. He’s very funny and we used to joke around all the time.
My sister has Tourette’s, and it was really bad when we were kids. Her muscles would be sore from uncontrollably ticking. I don’t have it, but I have physical compulsions from OCD that can make my muscles sore as well. My heart really felt that when he said you can never relax 🥺

This was just awesome

One of the guys with a tic: "SLUT!"

For some reason, the unfortunate timing of that was just also perfect.
Notice how they talk about when they feel calm they dont tic and when they are more anxious they tic more? I think it made it kinda sweet thinking about that and seeing how much they were doing it in the beginning of the video to hardly any at the end
I noticed in the beginning they were all tic-ing now toward the end, they’re more quiet
That’s how I am
Yessss stress makes it way worse.
Yeah I think that’s how it works, I think I remeber someone in a video I watched saying that the more anxious they got the more it happens
Yeah that’s how I am. when I’m nervous my tics act up more
What I like the most is how they explain that finding comfortable happiness and peace in something they love helps them not tic. That is amazing. it bothers me to see tik tok stretch the truth and instead of educating themselves they just want views. I would love to understand the Tourette’s syndrome more the things they do to keep calm. I very much enjoyed this study

It’s great and encouraging to see people with full blown Tourette’s syndrome have such a positive outlook on life.
Side note, seeing someone else tic makes me tic and I’ve heard that that’s common so being around others with tics might make it less awkward cuz they get it
This was awesome. They were all awesome. So glad for this exposure!
I'm impressed with their concentration and ability to keep going when the others are interrupting them with tics, but that's because I'm overly sensitive to being interrupted because of my stutter
My Dad also has a stutter and is very sensitive to interruption. Sometimes being interrupted makes him stutter. It's tough because he tends to stutter when he's upset so I tend to get anxious when people stutter because of him.
Because they are surrounded by people going through the same thing, they know they're not interrupting on purpose
I stutter only at school, not at home, but it can be quite bad at times... I don’t know why... It must be in my head, so I’m afraid to talk in public
I have autism, if you asked me to talk about that in front of people I would not have the courage they did to talk about there Tourette’s.

As someone who has Tourette’s syndrome I’m so grateful for this video ❤️ My tics are not as severe, but it’s still a daily struggle that is so misunderstood by others. I’m glad we can have an open conversation about what it’s like living with this disorder, and I’m so proud there was such an amazing group of people chosen for this important discussion :)
I have a question.
Do tics come out only verbally? Or can they come out through text messages?
@@indridcold3425 hmm I might not be the best person to answer that, because I haven’t had verbal tics since I was a kid, and now I only have motors tics. It would be highly unlikely for that to happen, and if it does I would assume there are other conditions that play into that and not just Tourette’s. Uncomfortable like unsettling? I'd say so, but idk.
@@marcusrosales3344 no, as in having the urges come out is physically uncomfortable
Me toooo. Speaking about neurodivergencies and triggers as well is also a trigger for me, but I like so much to talk with other neurodiverse people about our experiencies that I do it anyway. It's like pain and pleasure at the same time
THATS MY FREAKING GIRL!! I'm so proud of you always Summer ❤
After 23 years of symptoms, this video was the first time I really seriously considered that it might be tourretes.
The thing that really sold it for me was how their tics triggered mine haha
I still haven't actually tried to get a diagnosis but I have been doing research and looking into mindfulness techniques. And it's thanks to this video. ❤️
Goodluck!
I find annoying that they have to drop out of school... and the starbucks girl? Wow... people need to have a bit of empathy
Agree with you, though I can see if they are randomly shouting obscenities in the middle of class, etc, it would be kind of disrupting for everyone.
Their disability makes them annoying, that's the truth even if it's offensive
It’s tricky. You can have empathy for them but a lot of people just can’t function or focus when someone is yelling constantly.
Working in fast food/retail is already hell for people without tics because customers can be unempathetic assholes- I can't even imagine the struggle of working with Tourette's
@@wiswc It is a lot more than it being a distraction to you or others. Their brain is loud. It is hard to think,or concentrate or learn. Especially if there are things that set them off or stress them. For every tic they let happen and comes out.of their mouth, they are holding back 100. It keeps swirling in their head and their brain gets overloaded and sometimes does a reset like they are coming out of a dream. Sometimes they hold their tics back so much they can have tic attacks for 30 mins or more, that look like seizures and leave them exhausted and confused and embarrassed. It's purse hell.for them.
This is not a joke at all, but when Jacob twitches at 11:10, it looks like a Matrix glitch and I think "omg! Does that hurt?!" It must be physically exhausting!
I have a similar tic I call my shoulder tic and it thoroughly fucks up my neck and shoulder, giving me headaches. I can't imagine having it as hard as he does. So you're very right.
2:06 as well
@@Kennyboy0077 Same. I have horrible neck and shoulder tics. It is so painful, especially when it already hurts from doing it for days. I’m so sorry you have to deal with this stuff, it really is mentally and physically exhausting. So many tics get so painful, especially because they are repetitive.
You can tell by his sweat that a lot of his tics are physically tiring, that must be tough
😭😭😭
The energy in this room, love it hahah
Only video I’ve rewatched right after watching! I love their reactions to each other ^^
I want the guy in the blue shirt to know that its okay and we feel his pain!
The sweating or the Tourettes?
@@kareljongejan obviously the excessive sweat. Bless.
yeah! i have the same problem when im nervous
