This episode really spoke to me. I got into ball with that D'Lo, Levert Nets team as a 25 year old Canadian because social media. Raps fan now bc Toronto is accessible to see a live game some day, but im grateful to those highlight accounts and that Nets team for giving me a love for the game, to the point where I picked up a ball and started learnin to shoot in the summers at 28 y/o.
The Spurs don't need to do anything. They're in year one of the rebuild (year 2 if you count the tank year last year)

Give it time, build through the draft, and make your move when it's time to go all in. Ex: Celtics, Nuggets. You don't want to be the Mavericks, who have wasted years of Luka's prime jumping the gun too soon (Porzingas)

@@moneyman4740 brother I never said his entire prime was wasted, and idk if you know this, but players primes happen at different times. Some are in it off rip like Luka. Some hit it early on and fall off, and some hit it later on in their career (Nash). It's a perspective thing based on ability + scenario. Also, sure the KP move looked ok at the time, but that's exactly why you DON'T jump the gun lmao. Everything looks good when you have an insane talent and your fingers are itching to press the button and waste assets.

The spurs trading all their assets for Trae Young sounds like the most un-spurs thing ever. Spurs almost NEVER made trades for superstars. They've always been about development of their own players. Spurs are playing at their own pace. Building through the draft. Trading everything for a superstar once they get their number 1 draft pick sounds like something the knicks would do. Not the spurs.
Likewise, i think theres a chance for them to get Dejounte Murray as that's not a "win now" move and he's significantly cheaper than Trae Young. Spurs also have the best draft capital to offer the hawks compared to any other team in the league (besides maybe okc). But spurs have the hawks draft picks, and they value those the most.
Omg finally someone that makes sense. Why on Earth would the Spurs rush things and trade all of their assets aways, especially for Young. If Spurs listened all these people, they would've traded Murray and multiple 1sts for Ben Simmons.

For the Brooklyn nets i think they should blow it up because of what happened last time. Last time they traded their picks they tried to hold on and stay competitive, and because of that their pieces became less valuable.
So trade players when they’re at the peak of their value. If you don’t think the players on your roster can get you to a chip, and you can’t draft the guy who will, then you gotta trade for it. Because otherwise you’re gonna end up sucking while you don’t have your picks and you don’t have assets.
Trade Mikal asap for 4 firsts in upcoming drafts (maybe OKC would have interest), trade DFS this deadline for a first, trade Royce oneal for a first,
Then, let Cam Thomas, Clax and Cam Johnson have the keys. Yes you’ll be bad, but just sign solid role players whenever you can. Like Aaron Baynes, Josh Richardson type guys, just average but good enough to produce in their roles. Now, whenever these signings get to first round pick value trade them. If clax, Cam Thomas, or Cam Johnson ever gets to 3 firsts+ value then trade them.
And by then you will have had multiple draft picks so hopefully some work out, and if not you’ll be at the point of owning your own picks by now and you can suck again and draft high, and you should have excess picks in the future from past deals in this process.
On top of all this, none of this factors in that the Nets are a NY market who will have cap space. All you have to do is gather enough role players/assets to sign the next young guy who wants out and give them the keys.

Honestly I dont know where Dejounte Murray should be traded if the Hawks do pull the trigger. Like, I think the best situation for him is to be on a team where he is undoubtedly the primary ball handler, and there is at least a couple promising pieces around him. When you look around the league, there arent a whole lot of contending/playoff teams in need of a primary ball handler.
Personally, the best fit for some of those play-in/playoff teams that jumps out immediately is the Lakers. To me, out of all the rumored players on the trade market, Dejounte makes the most sense for them. The whole reason Darvin Ham has been tinkering with their lineup is because they got too many players with a one-dimensional skillset. They got good defenders who pose zero threat offensively, or they have skilled-offensive guards who are subpar athletes that cant really defend. Murray for Dlo and some other pieces, at least gets you an athletic guard who can take minutes and pressure off Lebron as a ball handler, while giving you good defensive play with AD on the backend.
Also, as funny as it would be, the Spurs make sense because they dont have a PG, but also they suck so idk if it makes sense to have an asset like Dejounte go to a lottery team. But him and Wemby could be good in as little as a year or two, so maybe they do it

As a big-time Celtics fan since 1993 I do have to disagree with a lot of people saying we don't need to make a change we definitely need a change we need another big man off the bench or another wing as you can see if Tatum and brown aren't playing to the full potential we need more then just Kristaps... And of course yes we have Derek White but that's another starter we need another great sixth man we need one of those sixth man that play like a starter... And that's actually quite a few players that we can get rid of in the trade in order to get an amazing player to really complete the team ( I mean we got lucky and broke the curse in 2008 when we beat Kobe Bryant and the Lakers and I only mention Kobe because Kobe should have been in green but we passed on Kobe Bryant and we went and grabbed Antoine Walker lol smh which was ironic when we played him in 2008 and we took him and Shaq out but then they got the last laugh in 2010 when they beat us but I can only imagine how many banners would be in the garden if we took Kobe instead of Walker Kobe Bryant have had Shaq but he would have had " the truth" foot in my opinion I think we're going to make it deep in the playoffs and if we do make the finals it's going to be a tough time no matter who we play because we don't utilize or have the best bench

But he is the best player on the best team. Do you think that this should be taken more into account in the NBA say for players like Tatum, Ant, and Shai. They may not have the absolute best counting stats, but they are the stars on the best teams in the league.

Kyrie in the nets weren’t about the injuries he always been a problem.
People don’t like the filler games in between which is why they complain about the season. MLB about 90% of the season is filler and NBA about 50% of it is filler. NFL if you had at any stretch of 4 games, you could be in danger of missing the playoffs. I think the tournament for the nba should be more in the middle like late December or mid January and mlb should have their own tournament. Where there’s 4 series that are marked IST. Then we have series the championship series before the all star break. Keeps the teams and fans engaged.
