Good watch, as always. You may also want to include West Waterloo Place on your "Developments to Watch" list, it's just by the new IOM ferry terminal and I believe they're finished with the dock filling stage.

Great video. Are you aware of Liverpool Waters development?

Yes, I featured that in a previous video but maybe I should have mentioned it. I must go back to it in a future video. Thanks for flagging it up!

It is good that there are new real estate developments, but it is a pity that the new constructions are so generic and some of them are ugly, having a city with so much architectural identity they should respect that.

Unfortunately, interesting and creative architecture costs money! London has more than Liverpool, and the difference is very noticeable. I intend to investigate that in a future video.

@@AidanEyewitness Yes, they are very interesting topics, I think that in general the architectural style of the area should be more respected, that gives identity to the place, besides being very beautiful.

Great vid Adrian, let's hope that Liverpool is on a positive trajectory. Have you visited the Skyscraper City Liverpool Metro Area forum? We love to discuss projects in Liverpool and your video has been shared.

    Another interesting video.
Concerning the new development, Element The Quarter, it looks to be where Brunswick Road meets West Derby Road on the site of the old Hippodrome cinema, one of the few independents, where you could see films once they had completed the ABC or Odeon circuits, though occasionally if in the stalls you may have had the misfortune to have your view of the the screen divided by a pillar supporting the balcony. Prior to the building being a cinema, it had been a theatre, The Royal Hippodrome, and a circus, Hengler's Grand Cirque. I believe, but perhaps someone can confirm this, that the area was known as Gregson's Well. There were two pubs situated there, one adjacent to the Hippodrome and one opposite, both using Gregson's Well as their name

Thanks very much for your message. Yes, this is exactly the location of the old Hippodrome. I have found the picture below on the Facebook 'Liverpool Then and Now' group. On the right there is a sign saying Gregson's Well. Further up West Derby Road is a brick building that is still there today. In the distance is the magnificent Olympia theatre. Very interested to hear your reminiscences of the interior. This area was obviously very different in the past, much busier and more populated. This would be before the roads were widened in the 1960s. Both using the name Gregson's Well, very interesting. Many thanks for your great comment!
