Most cattle go up by the cent so he only repeats the cent amount. When it is a single cow they will sell by a dollar amount, not by the pound. And when he sold that single cow it wasn't $112 it was $1,200

Most large cuts of cattle are sold this way. Because it's easier to get a little more money out of the buyer and the math is easier than splitting a cent. The rest afterward sold by the pound.
