Hello everyone, I hope you enjoy watching all my videos of Iceland as much as I enjoyed making them. You can watch the other videos I filmed in Iceland here:ua-cam.com/play/PL0wwMzq5-Q2hzceWtbxjG_PP_teDfL7Xv.html
Small explanation for 12:51: the sign means that you can park for free up to 1 hour (1 klst.) between 10am and 4pm (10-16) on week days (virka daga), by using a parking disc placed behind your windshield on arrival. You can park with no restrictions outside of these hours; so in this case on the weekend and at night. This is quite common throughout Europe.
@@WandererBell im planning to go back to Iceland at some point, i might check it out, ill be honest i fell in love with Akureyri, funny enough i actually stayed in the same Hotel Kea you parked near at the start of the video 😂
Quick factoid, Akureyri has the distinguished honor of having the extremely rare climate of Cold Summer Mediterranean and has the only harbor in Iceland that is ice free year round.
Iceland is indeed beautiful. It was used in WW2 by the US military. The US military built the main airport called Keflavik Airport. It is the main international airport in Iceland.
One of my favorite places we've ever been. We stayed for a weekend last year in July. Two straight days of clear blue sky! Plus, it was national holiday (we had no idea) so lots of summer activities. What a wonderful place!
I parked at this parking lot too. I went to the gas station and they gave me a paper clock for free. And walked up the stairs to this same church. Then walked around and up to the sea shore and made pictures everywhere. The difference was that I was making the circle around the island clockwise and I'm European 😊
I think it depends on where you park. For that particular parking lot, you just need to write on a piece of paper the time and date you parked if you just park for an hour or less.

I was there in September some years ago, what surprised me is the weather, no snow and no cold.
You were lucky.

Iceland sure is beautiful. There was an airbase owed by the US near Reikjavik.maybe that explains the us citcens down there

You were so lucky. My visit was in August and the weather was raining a few days throughout my visit.
I love this town.nice video
Thank you. It is a great town along the ring road.

I did not know about the paper clock at the time. I am glad you visited this town. I wish I had spent more time doing more sightseeing.
Did you park in Reykjavik a well? My cruise will overnight there in two weeks and I need to find a cheap/safe place to leave my rental car at night.
Do you mean a parking lot in Reykjavik? I parked in the hotel for free. Some hotels offer free parking for guests.
How do I rent that jeep with the massive tyres
Check out a company called 'Blue Car Rental.' They might have what you're looking for.
Hey. I live there.
Awesome!
That was my country and town
Hi, what month did you visit?
This was in August.
Weird process for parking enforcement I thought you had to pay something
