Nice video, we went to Akureyri this summer (June 2023) and were lucky enough to be in port on Icelandic National Day. For us, the weather was perfect - nice & sunny with a temperature of about 21C (72F). It was awesome to see the pride that Icelanders have in their country!
Thank you very much! 😊 Happy to hear you had really excellent weather, plus the National day too! It was low 50's when we were there in June as well, and the wind chill was rough. Really enjoyed our time there though.
So the tour is nice, but the town doesn’t overly seem that interesting vs other ports. Hoping you folks are heading to Greenland also. Looking at a tour that would be both Iceland and Greenland.
Thanks, great video
Thank you very much! 😊 Yeah we wish our cruise went to Greenland as well- that would've been another destination off the bucket list. Enjoy your cruise! This port wasn't the most scenic, but that botanical garden was worth the visit.
We will be in Akureyri in Sep. 2024, on a cruise. I was shocked at the prices for NCL tours! So, we are looking for options.
Not sure what sort of excursions they're offering but we really enjoyed walking around this charming town. If you do the same just note that it was a long walk, and the wind especially can be very chilly.
That looked like a relatively short walk…how long did it take you. I am going next year with Celebrity and have booked an excursion to Godafoss and Akureyri for 177GBP, which now feels like a rip off?
This actually took 4 1/2 hours, though we did stop to enjoy the sights, especially at the botanical garden. Your excursion includes a trip to a waterfall, so it may well be worth it. Have a great time and stay warm while visiting!
Thanks for the previews: I'm scheduled for August '24
Our pleasure- have a great time!
Thank you, i really enjoyed this tour.
Glad you enjoyed it- thanks for the comment! 😊
@@TravelTouristVideos the close up video of the flowers was very nice and well done
Thanks Susan- glad you enjoyed those flower close-ups!
Thanks for sharing your walking tour. It seems to be cold. You said summer, but was it August?
This was from late June, and yeah the wind was fierce and chilly.
What a nice place to live away from the shootings, robberies and carjarkings here in Chicago
Great to get away from the US
