- For the first time in history, your vocal coach Ann Souren reacts to DIMASH KUDAIBERGEN! This video is a reaction to DIMASH KUDAIBERGEN performing "SOS". IT's always interesting to see how real vocal coach reacts to your favorite singers. It's my first time reaction to Dimash, and I'm blown away. In this video, I'm breaking down the song, and highlighting some important vocal elements. DIMASH AMAZED ME, made me drink a full glass of water, and and left me with so many questions. Dimash's voice and technique is out of this world. This video is entertaining and educational at the same time.

When he hit puberty and his voice changed, his choir buddies all moved to make sections. But there weren’t enough sopranos left so he was asked to sing with the first sopranos. However once he joined the Aktobe Music College, he was trained as a tenor. Then at the National University of Arts he majored in jazz and contemporary music. He has just recently completed his master’s degree in composition. Now, you simply have to react to more Dimash! Btw, it’s sooooo cool that your friend played for Dimash!!!!!!! That man can add vibrato to a D8, I've never heard anyone better, and I'm not sure I ever will. He's a once per century, perfect-storm singer. Every single condition, skill, and bit of dedication that man has its just perfection as far as I understand the term.

I know. It’s one o’clock in the morning. I woke up after several hours sleep, and immediately turned on Dimash. Lord only knows when I’ll get back to sleep. This is a pattern for the last year ever since I discovered Dimash. 🙄. As to the reaction: so good! The detail and how she brings it back to lessons for singers is terrific. I’ll definitely look for Dimash reactions.

It’s obvious that he sings live. I can’t understand those who say he doesn’t. They’re jealous I guess.
They talk about sinful passion. Supposedly the 25 s run sounds exacly the same on multiple presentations.

There have been hundreds of performers of this song since 1976, but not one has any vocal data to perform it like Dimash did!
Maestro Michel Berger, for sure, would have been happy if it was such a performer who would have come to him for an audition - all the notes were effortlessly taken, and how much strength and tenderness in this performance, what actor’s presentation of each line exactly according to the content of the song.

Ann Souren Teachers... he has had many. Got his masters in composing last June and was recommended to do his doctorate in composing, what he certainly will do. He will study forever I guess, being the best student. I also think his stage presence is outstanding.

You just watched his first major exposure to the world. Keep in mind, he was an interesting guy from Kazakhstan before this one performance, and then he got 650 MILLION hits on China's social media and fried the country's internet. That was directly after this performance, and is just gotten better and more skilled from there.

You are correct, he was able to preserve his light voice because he has been training since the age of 5. In an interview, he said that when learning opera, his teacher would make him learn and sing all partitions and he was not very pleased about it at the time.

Yeah it is possible to expand the range it if you keep singing in that register continuesly.. and from very early range.. but again and again.. vocal cords structure matters.. not everyone can do it! He has very unique structure!

Great to see a reaction from someone who clearly understands every subtle nuance. Dimash is next level and no one else is on it. Some reactors have chosen to watch the whole song first with Dimash because they now realize they will be blown away (again) and then do a run through with analysis on a second viewing. Something to consider. Also, what about doing your next reaction to Dimash's Slavic Bazaar performance of SOS as there are differences which you will appreciate - but of course both stunning. Couldn't say which one was 'better' - just different. You could watch the earlier performance then watch and react to the later one. Don't worry SOS does not get old. Either way you wont go wrong with Dimash. And when you have done some of his songs and want to come back to earth again, you will be simply astonished when you discover Diana Ankudinova. I am pretty sure Dimash and Diana share their fan base to a very large extent. They are the future of music. World Bringers!

He is classically trained (starting at 5!) and his mom is an opera singer also, I’m sure she had a lot of knowledge on how to keep his voice. My request for next would be “Opera 2” since it’s what made him go viral.

As the one just below spoke of his early training, not only is his mother an opera singer, his dad sing and his grandmother who helped in his raising from age 2, she also sang opera and he has been studying for these many years even though in this song he is about 22, but there are youtube videos of him singing in his early teens years and he had a wonderful voice even at those early teen years, he was blessed with natural abilities that few have ever demonstrated, so I believe.

"The Singer" is an annual Chinese TV show for highly respected singers to compete. Dimash was the only non Chinese singer invited because the producer saw him perform for the Chinese and Kazakh presidents and was very impressed. He is from Kazakhstan is 6ft 3, 1/4 and was the youngest ever competitor in 2017 at only 22 years old. Because of his age and the fact he was a wild card selection, he was asked to perform first. No pressure!! This was his first performance on the show and he sang in French. The audience went wild for him! When the show was broadcast on TV to approximately 600 million people he had to have bodyguards for the first time in his life as he had become a superstar overnight in China. He is now a world class artist and just turned 26 on the 24th of May but touring the world to sell out arenas with his solo concerts, (on hold until next year due to Covid-19) he also performs in concerts with the famous Russian composer Igor Krutoy, is constantly collecting awards, attends many prestigious red carpet events, film festivals and even models for lots of high end fashion houses. He is university trained in Classical opera vocals to degree level, also holds a degree in contemporary pop music and jazz with a major in vocals, and now has finished his master degree in music composition with a top mark of 100%. He has been having singing lessons from the age of 5 when his teacher noticed he had perfect pitch . He was offered a place at the Astana Opera in Kazakhstan but turned it down for a more contemporary musical career. He is a multi instrumentalist, more than 8 instruments and also sings in 12 different languages and has a range of over 6 octaves from a low bass A2 to a high soprano, plus a whistle register with his highest note so far being a 5 second D8 with vibrato. He is widely recognized as the best vocalist in the world. He speaks fluent Kazakh and Russian, is studying English and Mandarin and has conversational skills in both but not quite fluent yet. His performances are easily found all over UA-cam. Enjoy!

BRAZIL - Ann, lovely reaction, really Dimash has an impact, it has been like this since I heard it the first time and I think it's important that you mentioned that your musician friend Andrew played at a Dimash show, confirming that he is a really great talent live, as many try discredit Dimash, mainly haters, saying that Dimash does not sing live; even with all the success he has already achieved. There is so much to see and you will not regret it. Dimash has parents who sing, played shows, his mother is a soprano and father who sings pop music and Dimash inherited this crossover, operates with pop, rock, jazz, ..... talent inherited from the family too .....
