You so deserve to be listened to as you analyse DIMASH’s performance of this song that catapulted him to global stardom.That was in 2017 “I AM SINGER” singing competition in China.He came second as probably been the rule being a visitor competing against Nationals and neighbouring Country Chinese singers.
All you said was so spot on! Lovely to watch a reactor with musical terms knowledge and absolute real being dumbstruck by his phenomenal singing ability.He had gone even better now and he is worth all the great superlatives in the dictionary actually.
DIMASH is such an absolute perfection musically and in person.

Greetings from Bashkortostan! Thank you for your wonderful and sincere reaction. Dimash took only 2nd place in the "Singer". Why? The fact is that the organizers of this show invited Dimash as a "dark horse" to enliven the competition a little and show the Chinese participants "foreign" singing. In their opinion, there was a stagnation at that time, since the singers adhered to the Chinese manner of singing,and among the youth it was no longer rolling. I watched an interview with Sundet Baigozhin (a famous Kazakh Opera bass), in which he told about the circumstances of Dimash's invitation. At that time, he participated in the Bolshoi Opera competition on the Russian channel "Culture" and invited Dimash to sing a crossover duet there on one of the episods. By the way, there is a recording of this duet from the musical "Notre-Dame de Paris" in French. Awesome: deep bass and the highest soprano! Sundet said that Dimash was invited only for 2 rounds on very strict conditions: to cause a standing ovation and an unprecedented excitement. And the foreigner could not win by definition. But they did not expect such a rush: after the first performance (SOS), Dimash's video gained more than 600 million views on Weibo overnight. And in the second round, Dimash also took first place. There was no way they could remove Dimash now without causing huge damage to the show. At the end of 14 rounds, the victory was awarded to the 51-year-old honored Chinese singer "on the aggregate of merits" with a difference of several hundredths of a point with Dimash. I think that no one was offended.
Dimash himself, by the way, in an interview said that he did not expect to win this show, and tried to just perform the proposed competitive tasks as possible.
He came in second place. I thought he would win, and was shocked that he did not win. Listen to Unforgettable Day. If you think he sang high in this song, he goes beyond that in Unforgettable Day. In my book of books, Dimash is the best in the world. He has a God given talent like NO other. To me, he becomes the song when he sings. I found him a year ago this month, and he is the best in the world. I realize their are many wonderful singers out their, but Dimash in my book, is the BEST! Also id you go listen to his music video.... Screaming.... It is an awesome video and I love the song.
Let me answer your question. Yes, I believe him to be the very best singer (at least better than anyone I ever heard in my life). Angel voice for sure, what a gift from God.
I never thought I say or even think this, but he has dethroned Elvis as the best entertainer and talent in the world. I'm 75 and heard many great singers in my life-time but Dimash far outshines them all. God has given him a great gift.

Dimash is unique to say the least. He has a 6 Octave plus 2 half notes range. He started his vocal training at age 5 years old. If I understand correctly he never missed a class. His first class his Grandmother was told he had perfect. Each performance Dimash makes is unique, showing us different abilities & levels of skill. He sings every genre he wants. Enjoy this journey, I know for me it has been incredible. I listen to Dimash everyday.
He is a very humble person, and kind. He speaks 8 languages and plays 10 instruments.

This is my favorite reaction to Dimash so far! You didn't say you are a vocal coach, but you obviously have studied and understand much about technique and how various tones are produced. I don't think English is your first language because you speak it better than we Americans do (and you don't sound British) and your articulation is exquisite. Your pronunciation is perfect, crisp and clear - and as a bonus you speak Mandarin! Dimash sings in several languages and SOS is in French. He is a world treasure and I think I'll follow you as you discover his even wider range of singing styles and abilities. So far, SOS is either 1st or 2nd on my favorites list and Ogni Pietra would be the other one.

Thanks for the reaction. The SOS version from the festival Slavianski Bazaar, Vitebsk, is his best in my opinion, every note is so perfect that it's almost, but just almost, artificial! But when you see the man singing, follow his expressions, gestures, hand movements, position ... You feel this is real and literally visceral. You have said it, his way of delivering and conveying emotions and meaning is unique.

Dimash, apart from his alien vocal abilities, is such a humble, down-to-earth, modest person he would never think of you as of an unworthy person. He is an absolute sweetheart and that is his natural, genuine attitude, no playing. So no worries. He was being very supportive towards the other competitors during the show by the way.

Max, I agree with your assessment. I too am a Christian and find myself groping for ways to express what I think about Dimash. He has been so gifted by God and has been so diligent from a very young age to develop that talent and then present it to the world in such a mature, wholesome, loving and very humble manner. I am in awe when I listen to him even after first hearing him on the 2017 Chinese talent show. His talent is so God touched that his voice reaches into our very souls to speak to us. Outstanding reaction and analysis! This was my very first exposure to Dimash's extraordinary talent and performance skills. Many years ago, I sang professionally and every time I hear Dimash sing, I am holding my breath with him and I can feel my body temperature increase just as it did when I was on stage. This song has so many different colours, textures, nuances, and emotions - each time I hear it, I get chills. I even get chills when I hear the song playing in my head during my day's activities. Adagio...Singer 2017 version is a must. Cannot wait for you to react to this song! Also, the guy touching his nose..that was a tear from his eye..second, did you notice the very last note crescendo/decrescendo? Totally to die for.

I see a whole lot of reactors to Dimash and this is the first time I hear someone translate the chinesse comments, Love it! I always wondered what they said. I am also a christian and I see Dimash as a Gift from God for sure! He is God's creature crafted with his own hands. You probably didn't know he lost his voice a day before he needed to perform this song in competition. When you hear later video with this song his voice is even more fluid. There are only two voice couches so far I have come across that could explain how he could sing all this.
Sadly he didn't win the competition, was 2nd which I was surprised as well. I started to listen to the winner now, she is good no doubt, but somehow did not move me like Dimash. So far, at age of 46 I never had a singer that I adored....when I heard Dimash I was looking for all the songs he has performed and also comments on his performances . I wanted to know what professionals were thinking about his singing since I don't have musical background.
First song I heared was Sinfull passion...
