The intro won’t be the norm for most of Ajahn’s talks I assume. Perhaps it was meant to be an opportunity for the speaker to practice a particular form of theatrical narrative. If that’s his calling in life, more power to him. Keep in mind that it is a traditional practice to offer music and performance in the presence of monks, even if the Vinaya stipulates their personal disengagement from it.

Do you meditate? Try guided meditation, jayasara channel youtube has good ones from theravada tradition
