- Dental Residency in USA is an alternative path for an international student to get a license to practice dentistry in the USA. There is little information about this option compares to the information about the Advanced standing program ( DDS ). These residencies include general practice residency, Advanced Education in General Dentistry Program, or residency in other branches like orthodontics, endodontics, etc. In this Podcast Dr. Ankita Kathpalia, a practicing dentist in the USA is explaining the various important points about the proess and the benefits of getting into the residency programs in the USA. I think the 1-yr AEGD program in Virginia is open to graduates from US dental schools only. Happy to be corrected.

Well one thing is sure that I understood overall, other than resume, qualifications, exam..... U need to have really good amount of MONEY. To support your education and living costs. If there is no money , I don't think there is any way that can help you.

Many universities says they dont need it but they prefer who has cleared nbde
After doing this residency program like a two year residency program are indian students are allowed to work their or they have to come back to india afterbthe program ends.
If the board recognise ur degree or residency and u get a h1b visa then u can work in usa

In podcast its clearly mentioned that Residency does not allow u to practice in all states. You will have to individually mail the college and visit the state dental board to know more about it

Currently do not have a podcast on Mendo. But we do have a podcast on ORE exams for UK which allows international dentist to practice Dentistry in UK. Have u seen it ?

No separate exam. But the selection is based on resume. Residency is difficult to get. Do check the playlist section. Aspire32 has another podcast about residency in USA.

@@tmadhuri2759 some courses may ask you to take nbde or ur selection would be better if u have cleared nbde. Its depends on school. Do visit the school to know their specific requirement.
