Yes, you can do that during your MPH as long as you are confident you can juggle both, doc! Also, yes multiple schools do provide the option of opting out of courses midway. Be sure to check out the university's terms and conditions before you make decisions!
Hi .....I know comparatively DDS has more output but ..... can u please tell is MPH or MHA salary less or is ther any issue ? why almost every one take it as bridge course?
Hi Aanchal, MPH or MHA as standalone courses are actually really good platforms to build a career. Infact picking up an MHA degree at a reputed school can get the same salary after graduation as a general dentist would after DDS. The problem really is demand-supply. Since far too many schools have gotten the license to launch an MPH program, there are excess number of graduates with this degree and they are often competing with other professionals for jobs. Dentistry (DDS) by contrast is highly regulated, with the number of seats/schools limited by the federal government so that there is only 1 seat per 2000 Americans. Also, you can't practice dentistry without a dental license (which other professional can't secure). See our video on jobs after DDS!
Thank you, the video was very informative. Can you please explain, why most of the dentists pursue only MPH or MHA before DDS? Is it not practically possible to do a Master's in Health or Bioinformatics and then try for DDS.
Thank you, doc! It's not about what the majority does, it is more about what your interests/goal are. It is practically possible to first pursue Masters and then do DDS in the US - plenty of international dentists do that. It gives you exposure to the education system in the US, and additional perspective on health/public health. Each applicant's reason for choosing one before the other differs!
Dr. Thanmayi Panguluri completed her Masters in Public Health from The University of Akron in Ohio. She also advises that you should preferably do an MPH from a university which also offers an Advanced Standing Program.
Hi @moukthika, You absolutely can! Infact DDS+MBA combos are highly valued when you want to advance the ownership chain within DSOs or Med Tech firms. Know that practice ownership doesn't require the business acumen that a holistic MBA offers.
Hi @Azam, the DDS program for foreign-trained dentists consider a holistic profile of the candidates as competitive. Profile development is a very relative question. We will be excited to guide you on MPH if your profile demands that. You can reach out to us for customized feedback at coach@caapidsimplified.com.
Hello i was wondering what if one does mph in the UK which is technically for one year and then applies for the dds program in the usa? Is this recommended or should one follow the route of doing mph in the states itself?
It depends on your ultimate goal, doc. If it's DDS in the US, we recommend having the US education and experience to acclimate with the US culture and the system.
Not the best option to migrate to Indian jobs after a US MPH after ROI. However, you could work within big pharma like bio-con on GSK in Sr. Management or Clinical Affairs roles
hello, i m an upcoming student in rutgers for mph, i just wanted to know that is it even worth it? like do we get h1b sponsered jobs after mph in epidiemiology
Yes, there are plenty of real life examples where dentists have obtained H1B sponsored visa after MPH and worked the epidemiology industry. Are you a dentist too?
@Sathvika, Hi, If you're asking about the Advanced standing program in the US, we recommend procuring US experience and degrees. Nevertheless, MDS or clinical experience in a specialized branch would be a great addition if that's a question for residency. And, Thank you for motivating us with your great words.
@Jeet, MPH requirements vary from school to school and country to country. It’s always safe to go through the school’s website to check for the specificity. If you meant generally, then No, not many US MPH programs require a physician’s license. In a few countries, individuals without a medical degree might have to consider a Master of Science in Public Health (MSPH) or Master of Medical Science in Public Health (MMSPH) programs.

Hello, if I get an education loan to get into an MPH, would that hinder my chances at applying for DDS right after MPH. Essentially, my query is regarding financing both these degrees.
Hey Doc...how exactly did you finance your MPH,did you get a loan or it was personal ?? Can you also give a slight insight on the average cost of MPH in the US please
Dr. Thanmayi financed her MPH through an education loan. MPH program costs range from 23K to 120K per year depending on the school you join. Texas is among the most subsidized and the Ivy leagues are the most expensive.
@@CaapidSimplified Hi doctor, from which university you did your masters I would prefer that university only because my ultimate goal is to get into DDS program
