  • In this episode I cut into the car floor to make room for the TR-6060 6-speed in the transmission tunnel. I consider my options for gauges that will work with the 5.7 Hemi ECU and add a tachometer to my dashboard. I find a speedometer solution that works for the TR-6060, which doesn't have a speedometer output. I also remove the rear axle for a rebuild with new gears and a Truetrac posi unit and get ready for rear suspension upgrades.

    YES! NEW VIDEO! . Fitting the TR6060 is the elephant in the Tunnel room.
    How did the Amplifier/BlueTooth set up work for music? I really like that solution.
    Also in the Stock SRT8 6.1 Challengers, they must have connected the TR6060 to the ECU for Tach info eh?

      Haha elephant is a perfect word for it!
      I think the tach signal might come from the coils or maybe some other engine sensor. Not sure about the 6.1 stock ECU specifically but I do know the Holley Terminator X does have a tach output without connection to the transmission.
      For the stereo, I just picked up a typical 4-channel amp and plugged in a 12v bluetooth adapter (I just put part numbers in the description). It sounds great, just make sure to get an amp with speaker balance control (front and rear), and some EQ functions are nice too.

      @@noboltsleftbehind Thank you again. Each video you make provides valuable information that is normally hidden in the back pages of Mopar forums. Sharing the part numbers in the description is so helpful for the 'Copy and paste... eBay". :)

    Great video. Your really going to need that 140 mph speedo on the 405 especially around Long Beach. More like 14.0 mph. However, the gauges came out great. I also have a rats nest behind my dash but not nearly as bad as yours. However, my dash pad does not fit correctly because it was installed by Rain Man so I have to pull the dash and refit it or replace it at some point. My gauges also don't work very well and I need to address that when the time comes. I also need to address my diff, its crap, probably the same as your old one. I'm learning a lot from your videos, thank you.

      Haha very true, the 6th gear is used for about 65mph+ so practically useless in the whole LA area. If I can suggest one thing about the diff, it’s to avoid the TrueTrac. I’ve had issues with it and what I’ve been told are defective units. My research suggests I’m not the only one. I really regret not going with a Sure Grip.

    One more quick question what mm diameter did you use for the warning lights?

    • @noboltsleftbehind
      @noboltsleftbehind  3 роки тому +2

      The six bigger ones are 14mm, and the two turn signal ones are 8mm.

    New subscriber. Some of the purists are probably freaking out because you are cutting up a pristine Challenger but I say you are improving it, so keep up the good work. I have a 74 Challenger that we are making into a pro street car. Plans are for a big single turbocharger and a 6.4 Hemi on E85.
    I realize it's been over a month since you posted this and you probably are done with the tunnel by now but there is a company that makes a kit to enlarge the transmission tunnel for these cars.

      Thanks! That sounds like it's gonna be an awesome Challenger you're building. Yes sometimes I do hear some criticism but I don't concern myself much with purists, I build my cars to be driven! I have no interest in a perfectly polished show piece sitting in my garage never seeing the light of day.
      I did come across that USCT stuff after starting on my fabrication and it looks pretty good, especially that transmission crossmember they market. I think might have have gone with it and maybe the transmission tunnel stuff too had I know about it early on. I'm very happy to see some good aftermarket support showing up for Hemi swaps!
