Building a 1968 Mustang 5.0 V8 in 15 MINUTES!
This is the entire 9-month long 1968 Mustang project in just 15 minutes. I bought this Mustang for $9500 barely running and removed the original inline 6 cylinder engine and swapped it with a fuel injected 5.0 V8 from a Ford Explorer. I also swapped the Explorer’s 4R70W AOD transmission, driveshaft, and Ford 8.8 rear differential with limited slip. I upgraded to disc brakes, build custom dual exhaust, built a custom fuel injection swap wiring harness, and installed an aluminum radiator with electric fans.

In this episode my lifelong dream comes true... I build my very own car lift in my garage. After getting the 3,500lb lift unloaded from my trailer I install a roll-up garage door installed. Then it's on to the lift, and I build the double-wide, extra large four-post car lift built ...

I Knocked Down Half of My Garage... To Make Room For a CAR LIFT!

In this episode I start work on one of making one of my lifelong dreams a reality... getting my very own car lift. My tiny two-car garage is nowhere near big enough to fit my double-wide four-post car lift I have planned, so I need to knock down half of it and do some major structural work to fit such a beast. I get the garage demolished, a new concrete floor poured, a wall pushed out, and roof...

My '70 Dodge Challenger Gets a JUNKYARD Ford 8.8 Rear Axle!
Переглядів 10 тис.Місяць тому
In this episode I swap a junkyard 8.8 rear end from a Ford Explorer into my 1970 Dodge Challenger. The original Mopar 8 3/4” Sure-Grip rear differential unfortunately grenaded itself on a hard 1-2 shift at the drag strip on a set of Mickey Thomson drag radials. The Ford 8.8 swap has 4:10 gears, a limited slip, and disc brakes and should add some strength over the 8.75”. I cut off the original s...

In this episode the Corvette gets smashed by a lifted pick up truck. The front driver side fender was obliterated, the hood was toasted, the pop-up headlight was wiped from the face of the earth. The wreck happed as I was on my way to pick up some final parts for the interior rebuild. With this sudden change of plans, I pick up the pieces of this build (literally) and try and figure out next st...

Cool build! What’d she do in the 1/4 mile?
@@joshhawkins5696 thanks! I haven’t raced a full 1/4 mile yet, the clip at the end was from a 1/8 mile track. But it ran 9.2 in the 1/8th so that should be good for a mid-low 14 in the quarter.
The difficulty putting a v8 in a straight 6 car is there is only a single torque box. The v8 cars had two for extra body strength.
@@rockerbie I might be wrong but I think that was only true of the early Mustangs, 65-66 model years. I think the 68 came with a full set of torque boxes for both i6 and v8 models.
Not gonna lie this is a great plan. Some of the hiccups were given was buying a truck and trailer in a different state just to transport something and then resell it for a profit really a great idea.
always suprises me when people go out and spend thousands of dollars and a huge amount of time to do something like (which is FREAKING AWESOME) buuuut refuse to buy a $30 folding table from walmart to save your back LOL
That start up at the end... ugh, I dream of getting there. I've got a long way to go but this video is inspiration for sure. Awesome car, nice work
@@TheHooniverse thanks man! Nothing like that first start up, that’s for sure.
You had the wrong truck and trailer set up for that. Always pre trip before you go anywhere. You shouldn’t have towed as far as you did on those low tires. I’m not sure if this video was meant to be funny, but you have absolutely no idea on what you’re doing at all. A socket wrench to remove lug nuts? 🤯
You know the tags on that truck expired 4 years ago
Badass
Just take the damn trailer off next time.
I thought the Ford Explorer was bringing a new engine for the Stang and it was the donor engine for it 😅
Mid engine 997 is the next project?
@@desmomotodesmomoto2033 haha that would be rad, I’d do it if I could find one with a blown up engine. The next project is gonna be wild though, I promise you that!
@@noboltsleftbehind 👍👍 There are lot of 997/996 cars with bad engines due to the IMS issue, I am sure you will find one.. Can't wait for the next project.
Great job! I have a soft spot in my heart for the 68 coupe, it was my first Mustang back in 78.
are those the evil energy fuel line kits?
Nice work!
@32:00 put a remote control on it, wired or wireless, i would suggest
Y pensar que hoy los moteres 3 cilindros tienen 145 caballos, este motor 8 mil cilindros y tira 115
@18:03 ....using a widow maker to lift a heavy loaded trailer....darn!!!
Your editing skills are so good you made all your projects look easy.
Great job on upgrading your Mustang! Garage built cars and trucks are always the best!
Nice car. Nice work. My dad used to have one. His was black. Sure do miss him and that car.😢
After seeing the 15 minute version of this rebuild I wanted to follow the journey fully and I am glad I have. It is bizarre that I am walking a very similar road with the Morris Minor. I might have just blown the engine up. I don't think a V8 will go but a straight 6 out of a Ford might be a good upgrade!
@@gucu that’s awesome man, thanks for following the build! I’d say you have a ton of great options with a car like that. I’m really into the Honda K series engines right if you wanted a cheap, lightweight 4 cylinder. The Ford ecoboost stuff is getting popular too and you have options for both 4 and 6 cylinder.
@@noboltsleftbehind Wow that is a brilliant reply and an exciting one. Thanks for the options offered. I hadn't thought about the Honda K.
I wish i had your skills😮 . Great Job.
So how long did that 15 minute build really take? 😁 67 and up is nice, the rear not needing narrowed saved some time!
You waisted nothing
Genius build!!! 🔥
Nice car dude, cool project.
@@grantottaviano7445 thanks man!

I wish this would really go this quick I'm putting one in a 63 Ford pickup right now
And I hope you bought more than one tire just in case just saying
Why would you leave Dallas Texas and go to Amarillo Texas to go to Long Beach California that’s going out of your way of course unless you have a reason to go to Amarillo but other than that, you’re going out of your way just saying
@@lenprice6315 no actually, the northern route on I-40 takes just about the exact same time as the I-10. I chose the northern route because there’s supposed to be a little less traffic 😉
great build with somewhat minimal tools and such, just making it happen with what you have, nice modernized girl she is.
...One of the coolest garage/workshop builds I've ever seen..A+...Used to go beer can hunting with my friend David from HS and his favorite to find was Pacifico to add to his collection. He would have killed for that sign.....However..:)....I can not believe you covered up your super-cool custom built original old wood end walls with storage shelves...Bruh
When he kept calling the truck a car!
I would recommend an exterior door right beside the controls for the lift. I would be very uncomfortable operating the lift trapped between the lift and the wall. With a door, you could stand in the doorway while operating the lift. Also wouldn't need to climb over the lift to get to the controls, just walk around the side of the garage.
Ambitious trip. Glad it worked out for you. I am WAY too anal retentive to fly across the country and hope to find a truck and trailer like that. Another vote for ALWAYS have a spare trailer tire. I have a car hauler I bought new two years ago. Had a large screw in the edge of the tread last trip I took the jeep on. Was three hours from home with the jeep loaded on the trailer and the family in the truck. Fortunately I saw the screw while gassing up the truck and changed it there at the gas pump. Was very anticlimactic, but could have been a bit of a nightmare.
Is the vette making a comeback or did you already get rid of it???
I was thinking the same thing ... and hoping to see it again 😊

I got a 1987 chevy truck recently. It's incredibly easy. I don't know how to describe how easy it is but yeah, any man can do it.
We insulated and sheetrocked our garage when we built it
Really like your 68. Great job. I’ve got a 91 5.0 5spd LX vert. As much as I love it I’d like to have a 67-70 coupe even more. Just goes to show ya it doesn’t have to be a fastback to be cool.
perfect job... Last shot of the car was awesome
While I'm in no position to make you do things... I strongly would recommend you use some form of gloves when welding, even if you're not doing a lot of it.

If I send my 1964 Morris Minor over can you rebuild that in 15 minutes please? Excellent work done. Thanks
@@gucu Morris Minor? I’d probably need 20 minutes for that one.
@@noboltsleftbehind Probably 1300cc rather than V8 as well!
hard to watch in that small garage, needs a small addition and a lift.
Yeah because everyone can totally afford a 4 post lift and apparently everyone has a garage with a tall enough ceiling and besides he literally did add one in the upload before this.
@@SAMPLETEXT285that was the reason for the comment….sarcasm. He knows I watched his other videos.

I'm by no means an expert, i know next to nothing about installing lifts, but wouldn't it be easier to shim the post as opposed to grinding the concrete down? Edit: kept watching, saw the shims. Keep up the videos! I'm enjoying the process!
