Still one of the best looking airplanes ever made.
Just about the most beautiful, graceful 4 engine aircraft ever made. So wonderful to see her take to the skies.
DC-6 was better and more beautiful all around. Much better economically too.
They're still in revenue service.
Connies are being scraped together from scrapyards.
@@wlewisiii Well, thanks for sharing. Bye, now...
Stunning aircraft and a machine of beauty. Since I was a kid I wanted to get on a Connie. Did Concord in the 90’s but a 5 minute ride in this would top it.
@@xkr510 Yeah, a Concorde ride would be great, but I’d take a turn in a Connie every day of the week.
AGREED!!
The shot during the landing was particularly stunning.
But how will it do through a rifled barrel!
I agree. I was tempted to stop filming and just watch 👍
THE most beautiful airliner ever built!
Agree, but I still have a soft spot for the 757
Uhhhh.. are you seriously comparing the aesthetics of a 757 to this magnificent aircraft? Seriously?
My all time favourite aircraft. Coming from England to Oshkosh and praying this turns up, would make my decade!
rare because this is a constellation not a super constellation
They are intending to take it to oshkosh. It most likely will be there!
It’s my all time favorite too. I fly from Oklahoma to Oshkosh every year. Let’s pray together 😂
yup, it’s now listed that it’s supposed to be there, wish it was staying till the weekend though.
This is one of my top 5 all time way cool badass aircraft....when I was a kid in 50s and 60s there was an observation deck at O'Hare Airport that my Aunt used to take us to for plane spotting and I just loved watching these Connies in flight.
Just beautiful aircraft.
been lucky enough to see this in person a couple time this week. My home is directly under the landing pattern for Chino Airport.
What a sight and sound to hear this Airplane flying directly overhead.
What a beautiful machine from a proud time in our history; thank you Mr Lewis and all involved in this terrific project for a job well done👍
In the air where it belongs!! This was sorely needed for our air show circuit and history sake since the TWA Connie was grounded some years ago. Those growling piston engines are some of the best music to hear. Thank goodness this video does not have annoying soundtrack music like another video does which blocked out the airplane sounds which is blasphemy.
Sure would like to take a ride in one of them again. I flew as a F/E in the Connies in the Navy with over 10,000 hours, in passenger configuration, air early warning, typhoon tracking, and special operations. It was a great career.
I remember just seeing the bare fuselage sitting by the museum for so many years. Glad to see they finally got her flying and looking beautiful.
Wow in 2023! Amazing sights and sounds, thanks again Skyes for always capturing something so awesome!
What pleasure to watch!
Congratulations to all involved in the project!
Awesome job of restoration - visited them a couple of years back and saw the quality work being done. Keep her flying in honor of those who flew before. Cant wait to see her back where she belongs - in the sky!!
Timeless Beauty, the Constellation.
Wow! Nice, pure "Connie" sounds. Thanks for sharing!
What’s most impressive are the guys with the brains and the funds to get these priceless aircraft back in the skies. Dedication second to none. Cheers!
What an absolutely beautiful, and elegant warbird! Thanks, Sykes9 for filming this aircraft.
Looks like an absolutely stunning restoration that has been done on probably the most aesthetically beautiful airliner that has ever graced the skies! and we have been lucky here in Australia to have a constellation that has also been restored to airworthiness in Qantas livery and is seen at air shows across the nation regularly, I also remember watching Qantas constellations on final approach to Melbournes then international airport at Essendon as a little kid from our backyard and on occasions on three engines as I learnt in later years the Turbo compound wrights could be temperamental! Great memories
Congratulations and a big thank you to all who made this possible, it's just wonderful to see!
Nice to see something like this is flying once again
Two iconic beautiful aircraft...Pretty Birds !!!
Lotta goosebumps here. Outstanding vid, thanks! So glad she got saved from the side of the road in Valle--always broke my heart. Job well done.
The most beautiful aircraft ever created.
these people did a hell of a job bringing this old bird back and notice that it took off with a short takeoff and then you notice that the engine flames from the exhaust have been eliminated from this airplane here all I can say is wow..
Love her big smokey radials on takeoff. And i love the modern light upgrades, shes beautiful!
Wow such a beautiful looking aircraft big shout out to all involved in getting this aircraft back in the air, and thank you for sharing this moment 👍👏😍
What gracefulness. Looks like it just levitated off the runway. Orville Wright got to ride in the Constellation before he died. He was impressed.
I have some faint memories of seeing this beauty at the legacy Frankfurt airport in the mid Sixties along with other beauties like the Lockheed electra, just before the jet-age set in.
How beautiful. It is so nice to see there are Connies that still grace the sky. Lovely video.
I have a photo of a TWA Connie at the Greater Pittsburgh Airport where my dad took me to the observation deck. I may have flown on one but don’t remember it very well…the sound of her engines is epic. Glad to see this one looking so good
I remember being younger than 10 and seeing these coming and going from La Guardia on Long Island. Also saw F80’s from Mitchell AFB flying over our house. Our school class took a field trip to Mitchell for a closer look and great food while I was there. 😊
So elegant!
What a amazing grace shape this Constellation, perfect in shape, like fresh from Lockheed factory!
Absolutely very fine video with excellent sound 👍👍👍👍👍
The Connie was beautiful enough by itself, but add a P-51 and it's total eye candy.
Great job everyone involved in this.
Wow, What a Beautiful Restoration ! I am a former US AIRWAYS MECHANIC.....WELL DONE!!!! GREAT JOB!
Beautiful plane. Fabulous shot of her coming into land. Thanks for posting.
My first flight in an airplane was in a Connie in about 1961 I think. I flew with my family from Phoenix to Louisville and it took all day with stops (if I can remember correctly) in Tucson, Albuquerque, Kansas City (with a hot lay-over waiting for a different plane), St. Louis, and then into Louisville. We left Phoenix early in the morning and it was dark at the end of the trip. What an exciting flight for a teenaged boy.
Also, I worked my life as an A&P mechanic and also had a PPL.
Awesome, I wish I could have been there, that light is insane
This is such great news, especially as the Swiss Connie no longer flies and the overambitious Starliner project was abandoned. I'm very happy to see this take off, even if I will probably never see it in person, other than the Swiss Connie, which I have seen numerous times.
👍👍 @Skyes9 - WOW excellent camera work of the world's sexiest airplane! I'm from Charlotte, and in the 1960s civilian Connies frequently flew over our house on their climbouts from nearby Douglas Airport/Morris Field, a former WWII Army Air Corps base. At night it was amazing to watch the magical glow of the flickering blue exhausts as those big round powerful engines droned overhead in full-rich mixture. What a time that was!
Never gets old!
Surely one of the most beautiful aircraft ever designed. Excellent video.
Without a doubt the most beautiful airplane ever built. As a young boy I would watch them for hours landing at Idlewild
Awesome to see it back in the skies.
Beautiful. I saw this beauty during our holiday in 2000 at the Planes of Fame Air Museum @ Valle, Arizona. She had been sitting idle there for some years then already. Good to see her flying again. Only thing I don't like very much are the strobes. Rotating red beacons seem mor fitting.
FABULOUS Let’s turn the clock back to that time so we can all live normally again
TEARS OF JOY ...galore
Most beautiful aircraft ever made, bar none.
Such a beautiful lady, nice work guys, my first commercial ride in 1967...Burbank to Oakland...
Great filming and sounds, thanks
In my opinion the most beautiful prop plane ever.
Awesome sight, awesome sound, awesome camera work !
This must be one of the most beautiful airplanes ever built.
The Connie has to be the most beautiful plane of its era.
Fantastic! The plane looks terrific!
Absolutely Gorgeous! Gives me goose bumps. I want to see it fly! do we know when it will go up next?
Very nice video and extremely rare👍🔥
Absolutely glorious!!
Absolutely amazing !
Hello, I like how the fuselage is shaped to add lift. These planes used to overfly our neighborhood daily.
Extremely good video and sound! Thanks so much for this. Very cool plane!
What a Beautiful Plane !!
What a beautiful bird !! 4 3350's at take-off power setting. I was fortunate to visit most of WestPac in Navy 131659 back in the day.
the Constellation is a beautiful looking aircraft
FABULOUS!!
Two of the most beautiful aircraft ever build!!
Beautiful!
I saw this fly over about an hour ago. I got a couple nice videos and pictures of it. Looks amazing!
Thank you for sharing a beautiful aircraft..
Just a lovely plane
Epic epic catch 😮
surely the most beautiful aircraft ever!!!
Reminds me of my boyhood near what was then Locheed airport in Burbank.
Being able to hang with my Dad at the edge of a runway with the constellations and other prop liners screaming overhead. Always great memories of an age gone by and great times in memory.
My dad and I watched when they brought her from Valle to Chino, not being aware there were any airworthy examples of the VC 121 or variants! Our jaws hit the pavement. I just wish dad had been still around to see her fly again.
In my opinion, these were the most beautiful propliner to ever take to the skies, and I feel so privileged to have seen one in the air again. Hope I see her at OSH this year!❤
Great sound, no talking in background.
A true queen of the skies!! Oh for a better time
wow what a beauty!
I heard The Vc-121A is going to Oshkosh this year
😃 Extraordinarily elegant!
What a wonderful machine.
I went abord the Colembine when I was a kid... Wow
That, is one beautiful machine.
One would never expect this golden age jet to be so quiet.
It’s not a jet, and it’s not quiet. Are you kidding??
It’s a beautiful aircraft to behold - akin to fairytales and other worlds.
wow. just wow.
My father was a navigator on the Connie. The ec121 version. I guarantee this would bring tears to his eyes. I hope you do a video of the restoration for us
Beautiful
Gee she sounds great!
Outstanding effort
Wow! Nice, pure "Connie" sounds. Thanks for sharing!
Time Trip, Wherever she's going I wish I was on board !
Beautiful machine
Another Kelly Johnson masterpiece.
Sonaban fuertes los aviones antiguos y eran para durar ❤
I flew on a Conny in 1958 from NYC to Frankfurt, Germany. Got air sick.
4 x 3350s and a Merlin = symphony!
Beautiful, love just hearing the sound. What year/s did it wear this stripping? Don't think I saw it done this way in pictures?
His having known these airplanes well from the USAF, and EAL, this would bring tears to my late dad's eyes to see the Connie flying again. Hopefully, parts availability is better for these engines than the T/Cs. Wonder where a current crew (esp. the F/E) was found for this?
Not much of a flare- beautiful restoration.
I love a Connie!
Just spectacular! WOW! Nice job. Now....if it can be safely flown w/out mishap. (thinking of B-17 and B-29 accidents recently). NICE, NICE JOB!!!!
What B-29 accident recently? There’s only two left airworthy in the world and both are just fine.
